Does anyone have trouble eating scrambled eggs???

i dont know why but i have had trouble always eating eggs with my band. i have had it for 2 years and i still have trouble does anyone else?

annie175 12-04-2007 12:10 PM

I had RNY surgery Feb 12 '07, I can eat eggs any style, but cannot eat other things like red meat, bacon, pork, OMG, just awful.

Initially if I scrambled them hard I couldn't eat them. Maybe try scrambling them soft (therefore more easy to move through the stoma?) Hard boiled eggs are a godsend soft/medium are good too.
Annie Any kind of bacon even turkey just has too much fat for me!

Stephanie03 12-04-2007 04:11 PM

well

well i have tried to do that too, like this morning my mom tried and it just wouldnt go down at all she cooked them soft so i dont know, and i love eggs so i dont know i guess smaller bites huh?

Stephanie03 12-05-2007 09:43 AM

well i tried the devil eggs thing and it did work, so at least i can have that kind of eggs.=)

Steph - it took me more then 3 years before i could get scrambled eggs down!!!! deviled eggs were another story - very very easy for me. just chalk it up to the fact that some things work for one person and not for another. shrug your shoulders, and go with what works for YOU!!!!!

annie175 12-05-2007 11:39 AM

KO-Yep, anything with grease or fat, and look out scout.

I used to love eggs before surgery. It took me a year before I could eat them in any form. Even now, some days it works, some days it doesn't.

FluffyGirl79 12-12-2007 01:23 PM

I was eating scrambled eggs with cheese immediately after my surgery (very little portions at first, of course ;) ). I have never had a problem with them.

Everyone is different though.
I absolutely CANNOT tolerate pork chops and ribs. Bacon and a little sausage I am ok with. I get very sick from them!
I also can't tolerate more than 8 grams of sugar. Dumping is the PITS!
But I never cheat on the sugars so I don't have much of a problem with that.

Fluffy: that just goes to show you we're all different tho we're hardwired very similarly. Porkchops are a BIG staple for me! Bacon is the no fly zone!
Basically
its a trial and error!
Keeps life exciting!!

FluffyGirl79 12-12-2007 03:20 PM

Exactly, KO! It's strange how one food can make me totally sick the rest of the day, and another WLS patient's FAVORITE!

LOL.
You're right...we're all different :)

KO 12-12-2007 03:25 PM

and yet for most of the WLS peeps I know Dry chicken breast its the Universal NO
Explaining this to people who make it "just for me" gets interesting!!

annie175 12-12-2007 03:46 PM

I can eat chicken pretty well and some fish baked or broiled, but not a lot. Bacon makes me sooooooooo sick. Vomit and feels like my stomach is being twisted. Pork doesn't agree either. Hamburger in the form of meatloaf works well too.

FluffyGirl79 12-13-2007 10:11 AM

Annie--I have never heard someone describe that feeling before....nobody ever understands what I'm talking about (stomach being twisted...intense pain). It was so weird to hear you describe EXACTLY what happens to me when I eat pork LOL

Sorry for the threadjack LOL

annie175 12-13-2007 10:40 AM

Yeah, and I cannot tell if the twisted feeling is coming from my new tummy or old tummy. It just plain hurts.
