Wink

Thanks for all the well-wishing.
Jiffy, I'll tell you it's been hard! Like I've said before, I don't know what I was thinking - well, maybe I do. I guess I thought it was a magic bullet that was painless and easy.
HA!
But for all the struggle I'm glad to see something paying off. It seems that my progress has been slower than some. But like Lois says, "ounce by ounce." I'm glad I'm working through it. And I really appreciate all the support I get from you lovely people!!
Thank you!!!

You guys are fantastic!
It's nice to come here when it's been a struggle and the scale doesn't seem to want to lose. I'll tell you I don't seem to mind the sickness, the ickies, etc when that scale goes down, but when it stays the same - I'm miserable. So here's hoping the scale continues to do its job and I continue to do mine.

Wow!
I was just looking at my profile (or whatever it is that's on the side - not in the signature). At my highest, a couple of years ago, I weighed about 385. That was kind of a guess because it was very difficult to find a scale that would weigh me. And I got down once to 297 - once, early in the morning after using the restroom. When I went to my nutritionist, I only got down to about 302. I had gained all the way back up to 351-ish. It went to 354 once during my monthly.
The point is that I started this journey (again) when I was at 351. That's why I have that number in my signature. And that's the number I really think of -- but then I looked at the 385. That terrible time in my life that I didn't know what I was going to do - and the very real possibility that I was going to get there again. And that is what made me decide on the surgery.
And - today after the surgery, I weigh 285. I am a hundred pounds different than I was then. And I am different in a hundred different ways.
Frightening. Exciting. Wonderful.
Thank you all for your support. I am very thankful for you.
That is what I will celebrate this thanksgiving. For you all.
Thank you thank you thank you!
-j

Default 100 down!!!! Yahoo!

Jax, that is wonderful. Was it you that said that you were having trouble with singing? I might be talking to the wrong person. I'm hoping that I will have more wind to be able to sing again. When I lose 100#s, I'm not going out for food, oh no! My DH is going to take a ballroom dancing class with me. There is one here in the spring and I'm going to be the first in line to sign-up! How are you doing with the nutrition and water at school? Has anyone at school noticed you weightloss? Your story keeps me inspired!

I'm having a terrible time with all of it, truthfully. And now I'm starting to have dizzy spells. So, I think it's time to load myself up and go to the doc. I was reading someone was putting dried milk in their cottage cheese (sorry for not giving the credit to who it's due) and so I was thinking I'd try that. The water is a constant struggle. So is the protein. I know a lot of people that rely on eggs. I can't get them down at all. The water I'm working on. Sip. Sip. Sip.
I'm very excited for you taking the classes! I wish I had someone else that would take the dancing with me. Humph. Oh, well. Good luck to you!!
Happy thanksgiving all!
