I signed up yesterday and am looking forward to sharing and learning. My partner and I had the lapband procedure in October of last year. We are both down a little over 40 pounds each. It has been a slow go -- but we were sidelined by her Mom's stroke in March (just after moving in with us) and her subsequent death two weeks ago. Hadn't had a fill since January. We seem to be back on track now (hopefully). It's the snacking at night that gets me. If I could go to bed right after dinner, I would lose a lot more weight. Haven't been able to exercise either, which hasn't helped. I will be having my hip replaced next month -- so after that is healed I'm hoping to get off the couch. Thanks for listening -- and hope that isn't more of an intro than you wanted.
geeezzzzz louise, lainer! talk about stressful times! but it sounds like you and your partner are moving in the right direction. have you discussed physical therapy with your doc? or some sort of movement you can do without walking? i've heard [read?] about wheelchair exercising - and that might help a little bit. at least, it might help you feel like you're getting more control over your life and your choices.
bottom line - welcome to these parts! we're glad to have you here.
Geeze is right....so sorry to hear about your partners Mom .....but congrats on getting back on track after all that and good luck with your surgery coming up. Snacking at night IS very hard not to do, especially since the band seems to be more food friendly at night. All I know is I can not have chocolate in my house just because of night time snacking.
