13 weeks to xmas!
Wow, can you believe it? How are we all doing on our goals? I had set a goal to hit 206, and I'm down only 2 so far. But with work life settling down (and finally getting paid after 5 weeks of them not paying me!), I'm hoping to see more consistancy!
I was just thinking about how much time we've got until this challenge is up, and thats MORE time than the people on The Biggest Loser (can you tell I watched it tonight?). i am under 200 finally, but good lord, i have 50 to lose to hit my christmas goal. sigh.

I want to be 160 for xmas. I lost 1.4 pounds last week, so I might make it if I can keep it up :)
Keiko got stung by a (dead) bee last night. He face all swelled up and she was shaking really bad - she seems to be doing better except she kept throwing up all morning :( Poor girl! |
Oh, poor Keiko! I'm glad she's doing better, but I know you'll be keeping an eye on her, Mommy. :-)

Aww Poor doggie!... I have a little Westie Terrier, and she has allergies when there is a lot of pollen in the air, and her leg gets all swollen like that...
Anyway--- My goal is to be at least under 190 by christmas. This is my first time attempting to lose weight, so I still don't know what my average weight loss per week will be. I guess it depends on a lot of things. This is my second week on my Zone diet, and I've lost 8lbs so far, but I've also been doing A LOT of light exercise, so that might have something to do with it, and I don't know if I can keep up that amount of exertion once I start my new job... |
I'm back form vacation and pretty bloated. I blame it on TOM and all the bad food that I had in LA (aww, I love that place!). But I am ready to get back to my regime...tomorrow anyways. As soon as I get home, I am going to bed. I have not slept in the last 30 hours and boy, am I exhausted. But I am really going to get into it because I am tired of fighting with the scale over the same 4 pounds. It's time to get rid of it for good!!!

Christmas goal...well, I hadn't really given it a whole lot of thought just yet. Taking one goal at a time, and right now that's working on the Trick or Treat Challenge. I would DEFINITELY like to be in onederland for Christmas, but I'll wait to set my target # until November 1st.

omg! I am SO frustrated right now!! So I'm sure I've complained about how my last job hasn't paid out my vacation pay yet (supposed to come tomorrow... fingers crossed for me!).. well my bf decided to look online at work about how much my first paycheck from the new job is going to be. And it turns out they LIED TO ME!!!!!!!!! I was hired at 10.43, I was doing my training at 10.43 or so I was told. So my paycheck says I have 21 hours at 8 dollars an hour, and then 20 hours at 9 dollars an hour (20 hours of instore training), and then 5 hours at my wage. No one told me EVER that this would be broken down like this. Not only that, I was hired to work as a photo specialist, and just found out yesterday I'm going to be put into electronics nearly fulltime, which is what I told everyone I did NOT want to do. I was basically told that they don't have enough hours for me, and therefore I MUST work in electronics if I want shifts. I'm not an electronics person. And thats my rant..
And the stupid phone call ruined my day, because now I'm so upset and missed my walk. Bad day. -Aimee |

Use that anger to exercise!!! You'd be surprised what it can do!!!! Push yourself harder cuz you're mad!! It works for me. hehehehehe Hmmm, I might have to think about a Xmas goal. right now I'm just focusing on exercising with an end goal in mind. After this first 21 days I will have to pick a xmas goal!!! |

I would like to be 145 by my Christmas trip to Mexico so that puts me at a little less than 2 lbs per week. I'm really hoping that I can do it.

I'm sure you can, Amy! Just be sure to come here and read/post whenever you're feeling discouraged; my worst times have been when I haven't visited the site for a while.

aimee--that blows big time. isn't there someone you can talk to?? I'd be pissed if I was told one thing and then got something else. but don't let it throw you off your plan. like trish said, use all that negativ energy towards soemthing positive and work your little heart out. I'm sure it'll make you feel better. I hope it all works out for you.
I am up 4 pounds from what my signature says. So any losses for me probably wont count until I get under 234. I am determined to get under this week!!!! |
I weighed in this A.M. and I am 4 lbs. closer to reaching my Christmas goal. Only 34 lbs. more.

Well ladies, how are we all doing? My mom was in town and I haven't dared to get on the scale since. It's hard to believe its really only 12 weeks left! I have to lose a little over 2 pounds a week to get to my goal, I could totally do that!

I think I was down this week, pretty sure the scale read 176.4 but I dont remember now... so I dunno if I should write it down, lol. I was hurry when I weight but I remember telling my bf I had lost 1.2 pounds but for some reason I kept thinking the scale read 177.4 (only .2 pounds) - so yah.
But I ate sooo much this weekend, enough calories for 4 days! anyway, hopefully I can stay under this week and fix this up. |

I was down on the scale this morning but I am still not under 234 so I cant count that as a loss. But I am pretty stoked to see what next weeks wi is becuase today i started the Fat Smash diet and I have a really good feeling about this. Good luck everybody. Lost 1.4 lbs this week, rejoined WW, and reached 241 for the first time in as long as I can remember....today was a good day. :)

I am soooooo discouraged. I was down to 187 when i went on vacation over Labor day, then I gained a few back. I got it back off but now I haven't budged for the last 2 weeks. i missed like 2 workouts and have eaten maybe 100-200 calories more that usual but I'm still under my calories allowed for the day. I should be at a daily deficit. I keep hoping I'm going to get that TOM so I can blame some of it on water retention! :)
Arrrgh, I hate this. My morale and drive is low to keep going when I hit plateaus. :( |
kierr - I suggest taking measurements girl!! Maybe you are still dropping inches? My other suggestion.. if you are exercising regularly, do something different once a week. Throw your body into shock! Easier said than done I'm sure.. isn't it always.
Rosario - woo! I saw that diet, what is a typical meal plan for a day like? I did SO good for breakfast and lunch today, dinner was out for a VERY late bday celebration.. I had half a burger. It was pretty yummy tho. I really enjoy red meat lately.. I craving the weirdest foods lately. I am SO tired, so I am off to bed.. I gotta start posting more. Maybe it'll get me motivated. -Aimee |

Thanks Swimgirl. :) Yeah it is easier said than done. I don't know why but i'm in a diet slump AND an exercise slump ever since my trip. It's really making me fear my next trip over Christmas for two reasons:
1. I'm getting married while we are down south over Christmas and I want to lose that weight. And 2. I'm afraid even if i lose it that I'll gain 1/2 of it back because I'll be gone 2 weeks! Man, i'm glad I have you girls though. Maybe stress over the wedding has something to do with it? All I know is I have to DRAG myself (and my man helps drag me there with him :) )to the gym but once I'm done I'm glad I did it because I do feel better and more relaxed. |
kierr - Areyou using cardio machine at the gym? Maybe switch them up? That might be the easiest thing, that stairclimber really works the butt! If you are doing a weight routine, maybe do it in reverse, that might even make a difference. You've got 12 weeks until Christmas, you can definitely get some of that weight off! As for gaining it on vacation? You will gain something, but with smarter choices you might be able to gain 5 pounds instead of 10.
I'm considering getting on my scale this morning, it's been quite a few days since I last did it.. probably a week now. TOM arrives soon tho.. so I'm not expecting to see any kind of loss. Although it would be nice.. Anyways. I am off to do that and then get ready for work.. have a good one ladies! -Aimee |

Courtnie - NOT good! With TOM arriving tomorrow, it's saying I'm up from 233 to 236! I feel super bloated, so I guess I expected it. No weighing for a week now tho!

Ugh, you and me both Aimee, and I probably won't get a good scale read until Friday or Saturday when I can pee it all out (sorry for being graphic! :)).

aimee-during phase 1 all you eat is veggies, fruit, brown rice, yogurt, skim milk, beans, lentils.....no sweets, bread, pasta, white flour, soda, sugar.... you get the picture. It has really worked for me. I have gone 2 pounds in the last 3 days!!! It's probably all water weight..but hey, it's still a loss. Plus, I feel good!! (but sometimes I do miss my junk food....)
kierr--hang in there. do whatever excercise you can. even if its just for a little walk. I hop eyou get over your slump soon. I am still trying to push for my x-mas goal. Im acing the food part but slacking on the excercise part. I guess cause I can feel the fall days coming. its already gotten colder and it starting to get darker sooner....ah, I love fall and winter but they have got to be the laziest seasons ever!!! |
I love fall too but it's bittersweet because I hate winter. :) fall reminds me of trick or treating as a kid, it's my favorite time of the year.... maybe! :)
I do about 3 hours of cardio a week. usually at least one aerobics class and the other days elliptical or treadmill, sometimes some bike. I also swim once a week but haven't much lately, been too lazy. I use lift weights about twice a week, sometimes 3. I agree, I have to have variety or I'll never stick with it. :) I think I may have pinpointed one thing I'm missing. MUSIC. I need to get some on my XM again and bring it to the gym and dance it out. I haven't done that in awhile! :) |
I braved my scale again this morning.. I was feeling MUCH less like a big round ball of bloatedness! Holding steading at 233. I will be SO happy to get under that silly number.
In my attempts to get motivated and STAY on track with exercise I went out and asked a couple people to do this 5KM run on Dec 2nd (the Santa Shuffle!) and we also have to raise money for it. That way I can't NOT show up on the day to do it. 9 weeks until the run, and the training program I'm doing is 9 weeks long. It's a nearly perfect plan!! Winter where I live can be HORRIBLE! It only snows maybe 2-5 times, and it's usually melted within a couple days as well. But I live up a mountain, where no one buys winter tires (who would for a few days a year!).. it's just scarey to be driving down a hill that was NOT meant to have snow on it and the person coming towards you can't control their car. We have an indian summer going on these days, it's around 24-27 (73-81F) degrees every day. I do love summer tho so it's all good :) -Aimee |

aimee-ive alwasy wanted to do one of those walk/run things. but have no one to do them with me. Ihop eyou get into the training and do great at the marathon. 9 weeks to go!!! I am slipping!!!! I had a bad dinner last night and I had some french fries and a piece of hamburger for lunch. oh no!! what am I doing? I am sabotaging my diet. Yikes!! I know I will work out tonite no matter what. I hope the rest of theday is a breeze. see ya later |
