  • Quote: am i weird? but i find that excercising kills my appetite? u guys are saying that after a good hard workout you crave food because you've been using it? but excercise makes a lot of foods a would normally shovel in seem sickening...
Exaclty! I don't crave junk. And throughout the day I usually don't want it even if it is shoved in my face. But I do crave good food. It's only when I haven't exercised for more than a day that the junk monster in me appears. She is pure

Hunger after an exercise workout is so different from what I used to think "being hungry" was. It is a good feeling. And I feel good when I appease it by eating something good.
  • I saw a sign at the gym today that said to eat carbs before, during and after a workout. Does anybody do that??

If I have light hunger or a craving, exercising (mildly vigorous) usually kills that. There have been a few times after the gym (not always) that I have been really hungry after a workout (when I go before lunch or before dinner). Not always though. Interesting.
  • Yep, sort of. I eat carbs before working out, either a Geo bar or a banana. And I try to have carbs after, usually pretty much the same as my pre workout snack. On a long run I have started eating jelly babies (about 10) and it makes a big difference to my energy levels. At the gym I usually have a carb exercise drink, if I am going to be doing high intensity cardio.

If I have worked hard, I am usually hungry about half an hour afterwards. If I have worked less hard, I'm not so hungry. Cardio makes me hungrier than weight training!

We're all different so we're all going to react differently to exercise.
