Default Hi, I'm new...sort of

Hello,
I found this site in Sept 04 when I decided to make a lifestyle change. Well, needless to say I found out that same month that I was pregnant with my 2nd daughter!! Sooo.....I put the lifestyle change on hold for a little while, ok maybe more then a little while since my youngest will be 1 in 2 days!
Anyway, I have been eating healther and exercising since the end of March. I had a rude awakening one day when I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror and couldn't believe how big I had gotten!! It was a BIG wake-up call!! I know that I have lost some weight because some of my clothes are looser. I haven't even weighed myself though, because honestly I didn't want to even know the number. Now I am wondering if that was a mistake though because at least it would have given me some idea of where I stand. I do take my measurements once a month though and those are getting smaller, so that is good news.
I have been reading this forum almost daily now since I started my lifestyle change. You all have giving me motivation and you seem like a great support system. I figured that I would try and start posting along with you. My oldest daughter will be 4 next month and like I said my other daughter is almost 1. They are one of the biggest reasons why I want to lose this extra weight. I am only 31 and I want to be around for them for a long time. I also want to be able to play with them without feeling so darned sluggish all the time.
I hope to get to know everyone better. Take care
Jen

Hi, Jen,

I think the measurements and clothes can give you a decent guide to how you're doing. You can weigh yourself whenever you want to, or not. The weight isn't the only way to keep track of progress, but it can give you a good compass, and for me it helps me to focus. Besides, I'm lame at taking measurements. ha.

I bet playing with your kids is great exercise!
