Cute boys lifting weights at the gym are nice eye candy, and before you know it, your thirty minutes on the treadmill is over.

Chocolate does not count as a vegetable/fruit, even though it grows on trees.

Fruit can be your friend, a punnet of strawberries savoured slowly does count as a fruit, and has 40 calories!

It's ok to fail for a day, just don't make it a week.

Sometimes your body needs rest more than it needs the gym.

Plateaus can be your friend, sometimes losing can be hard work.

As soon as you buy a new outfit, your plateau will be over and you'll drop a size

Pain from Discipline today, is not as bad as, the Pain of Regret tomorrow.

keep it realistic. The changes you make need to be changes you're willing to live with forever. (I learned this one the hard way )

Chocolate is not off limits, but a whole bar is too much. I have a couple of squares if I'm craving chocolate, not a whole bar. Everything in moderation.

If you hate a certain kind of exercise, do something else. I hate running and would never stick with a running program. On the other hand, I really like the elliptical machine.

Even if you fall into a rut, one good workout has all the power to put you right back on track.

Some foods I really can live without!

Calorie counting taught me fast food is really, truly evil! I'm not going to be able to count calories forever, but it was instructive to do it for a while.

I second the people who say they learned that this has to be a lifestyle change. It is not a diet. It is something I am going to have to do in one way or another for the rest of my life.
