This is kind of a tough one to answer! I am 5' 8 1/2" and weigh 189. I only own 2 pairs of pants right now and one is a 16, one is a 14 and both fit. The 14's are a little tighter but still comfortable. For shirts I've been wearing mainly xtra lg but some are getting a little too big and a couple are still kind of small! I do have to admit though that I am not comfortable in tight shirts yet so my judgement might be off in that department!

I am 150 lbs. as of today, Yah! I wear a size 10-12 in blouses or large in T-shirts, Have a 36 DD chest that I don't expect to change much. I wear a size 4 or 6 in women's jeans or 5 to 7 in junior's. I am 5'7 with slim hips and legs but hope the last 5 lbs. comes from my belly.

I think it all depends on build and manufacturer. I am 5'7". At 195 lbs I was a TIGHT size 18, almost ready to get a larger size (which by no small accident was one of the reasons why I started losing weight). I was a very loose 16 at 165 lbs and a very loose 14 at 150 lbs. At 141 I wore a size 10. At 127, I wear a comfortable size 8 (sometimes a 6 if the story is a freaky vanity-sizer, I'm looking at YOU Ann Taylor).

When I was losing weight, my waist was the last thing to get smaller, it was maddening. My hips were saying one size, my weight was saying another size.

Waist/hip size for me by weight:

195 start weight - sadly did not start measuring at first - size 18
180 lbs - 37 inch waist/44 inch hips - size 16
155 lbs - 32 inch waist/39 inch hips - size 14
140 lbs - 29 inch waist/37 inch hips - size 10
130 lbs - 27 inch waist/36 inch hips - size 8

Figuring out your frame size might also be interesting. When I was heavy, I told myself lots of lies. One of the things I told myself was that I was just a big girl and destined to be fat, it was just the way I was built. I was very surprised to lose weight and discover tiny wrists and collar bones and realizing that I was actually a very tiny person (5.5 inch wrist, size 4.5 ring finger).

I am 5'3" 1/2(that 1/2 does matter!) and I am currently wearing size 14 in most pants and weigh 170. At my highest I was wearing a tight 16 at 195. Waiting patiently for those 12's... Shirts usually I wear an XL... occasionally a L depending on how the shirt is cut.

Mrs Snark 05-11-2006 10:34 AM

I'm a bit over 5'10" and 194 (as of this morning) and am either 14 or 16 in pants depending on cut, style, and fabric. Usually 12 or 14 in skirts. I'm busty, so on top I'm L, XL, or even 1X depending again on cut, style, and fabric.

I have a closet full of 10s, 8s, and even some 6s that taunt me daily. I won't be able to wear them again til I'm close to goal... can't wait...

I'm 5' tall and currently weigh 161 lbs and I am fitting into size 11/12 and they are actually getting baggie on me. I started out weighing 204 and wearing an 18/20 W. I attribute being able to fit into size 12 jeans to my elliptical. :) I don't care what size I end up in once I'm at my goal. It's a non-issue really.

Quirky & Water we are all about the same wieght and height!!
I am 5'7" and weigh 234.8 as of this morning. I can wear a 14 dress but most of my pants are 18/20 because I am hippy and have a massive butt -lol. I can wear a large or XL in most shirts or a 14/16. I have an ave. size chest and no tummy so that helps a lot. At my smallest which was 145 I was in a size 9/10 dress and 11 jeans (big butt) because I have a large frame. Mel67 My wrist measeure 6 1/2. How does that work? What is the list on body frames and wrists?
Have a great day ladies!

I'm 5' 3/4" and weigh 135 LB's and wear size 8-10 on a good day. I'm hoping to get down a little bit at least!

Kashi 05-11-2006 10:59 AM

I'm 5'6", 235lbs and I wear a size 16, but occasionally I'll need an 18.

SupersizedChicky 05-11-2006 10:59 AM

Let's see, from 270-230 I was a 22/24W. Then from 230-220 I was an 18/20W. Now at 214 I am between a 20 and an 18R. 20 is loose and 18 is really tight. I'm 5'6".

Size

I'm 5'10½", and "large boned". I wear a size 11 shoe.

Top weight was 316 and size 24
Current weight is 280 and size 18

The lowest I've ever weighed at this height was probably 155 and was a size 10.

Anin 05-11-2006 12:03 PM

I'm 5'6'' and am currently just getting into an 18 down from a 24. It is my goal to be a 12 by the end of this year.

PandyCat 05-11-2006 12:07 PM

I'm 5'3", 206 pounds. Right now my Lane Bryant size 18 jeans are loose, but I'm not small enough to fit into a size 16 yet. I wear their 14/16 shirts. At regular stores, I need an XL in shirts. Haven't bought pants from a regular store in so long that I'm not sure about what size...I would guess maybe a 20 at stores like Old Navy.
