Okay, a 'different' support question of sorts
And I mean body support!
Has anyone ever found an undergarment for slimming the tummy and hips (to wear under jeans) that actually works?
I look pretty decent in jeans now, but I've still got this stupid potbelly and I'd really love to be able to wear jeans with my shirts tucked in, but I don't dare because of how I stick out too much in front.
Are there any lower body shapers out there that do a good job of sucking it all in?
Editing to add: comfort is, of course, a must. I don't want to walk around feeling like I've got body armor on, lol.

Never heard of those, but that's why I'm asking, so I can go look stuff up to see what it's about.
Thanks!

you can buy compression shorts at most sporting goods stores. There are similar items in the lingerie depts at most stores and they are a bit more sleek to be worn under clothes (and not so girdle-y).

Thank you
Hopefully we'll get some good suggestions on this one. Do you know how many years it's been since I've worn a shirt tucked into my pants????
However, I'm not quite brave enough to do it without some sort of support on my tummy and hips.

I just found the Spanx brands. The one I'm looking at is the Spanx Power Pantie that got great reviews from the ladies who've tried it and one woman even wrote she looked like she'd instantly dropped 10 pounds as soon as she put it on, lol. Also these are supposed to be the "secret undergarment" of celebrities everywhere.
Thanks, Junebug, for that info. These look pretty neat. I'll post below the two reviews I've read so far about the Spanx Power Pantie, both 5-star reviews.
"A superior foundation garment. Better than other similar products I've tried: "sucked" me in better, didn't cut into my waist painfully, no leg band to show through my pants (and yet no creeping up of the legs either), and just generally no discomfort. Worth the price."
"I can't say enough good things about Spanx power panties. I put them on and it looked like I lost a good 10 pounds and no VPL! They are also extremely comfortable, unlike similar products. There is no leg band so it doesn't cut off circulation in your legs or make your legs bulge. I highly recommend this product. A++++++"

I LOVE MY SPANX!!!!!
Seriously. They're amazing. I never go to a business meeting without them, and they don't cause any weird bulges where the elastic is. Spanx make me smile.

Thank you so much for the comment. It looks like a good choice
I just want something comfy that's gonna suck in that gut and Spanx seems to be pretty popular among its users.

And Spanx leaves no "muffin top"?
Sounds like Spanx is a grand upgrade to yesterday's girdles, holding you in. I remember getting my first girdle in 7th grade (and being so depressed that I needed one). It flattened me out, yes, but gave me an odd shaped booty (kinda flat) and pushed everything else up and over the top. And we won't even talk about trying to hook my nylons onto those holders (these were the days right before pantyhose and my school had a dress code of skirts and nylons, 7th grade and up). I was one miserable kid.
I'm glad they don't stuff girls into girdles today. Personally, I haven't worn one since about the 8th grade (I think I was trying to jump on the bandwagon when the older folks were burning their bras... )

Absolutely no muffin top, or thigh line, or any other line.

FYI Ladies -- Oprah wears Spanx. She has mentioned this on her show a few times.

I use the cheap $3.00 ones from Walmart, but I'm going to look for Spanx now !!!
I also employ the tactic of wearing a full bathing suit (a tight one) under my clothes and that holds in my upper and lower belly smoothly and hides some of my unsightly back fat as well. But I have to buy a new one, because the one I have now is too big!!! But don't get one too tight or you'll have some squish squishing out in odd places. I don't do this too often, because you've got to take your shirt off to go to the bathroom, but for short appearances, I recommend it.
Oh, and if anyone notices, just say you are going swimming later . . . but no one has ever noticed on me, you just have to find the right one . . .
