Default Help.... need to get motivated

Hello. I have been on trying to lose this weight since January of this year, I have come along way but I feel like I should be losing more. I stay on my plan real good during the week and when the weekend comes I just totally get off plan. I really want to lose this weight. Do you have any suggestions for me. I am desperate to find a solution.

I never differentiated between weekends and weekdays. I planned healthy breakfast/lunch/dinner/snacks for Friday, Saturday and Sunday and stayed on plan. The only exception was Saturday night when I would go out to dinner with my boyfriend. I still didn't "cheat" - I tried to make healthy choices as much as possible, but I was a little more free with calories than usual. I couldn't see any reason to work hard all week and then sabotage all my hard work with a three day caloric bender.

Good luck!

Im the same way as Glory. I try to stay on my plan 7 days a week. I do go out to eat once and awhile with the family and then I'll usally go alittle over my calories but I still order something healthy or I'll eat a half order of something I'd would of eaten a full order of before my weight loss.

I'm like these other gals. Because I work part-time shift, there often is no difference for me what's a weekend and what's not.
However, some folks calorie cycle. They eat different amounts some days making sure that their 'average stays below a certain number.
How badly do you go off plan? Maybe all you have to do is be a little more mindful on the weekends.

I also don't really do much different on the weekends, but I also try to keep at a certain number of calories I eat on average - -which means that there is room sometimes for a night out or a treat. I plan for these special treats so that they fit into my plan.

For me it's a less about eating a certain number of calories (though obviously that's important), and more about being consciously in control of the choices I make every day.

Saturday is my big points day for me. Im good all week and then on Saturday, I get my Starbucks and we usually go out to eat. I ALWAYS stay in my points and I also use my FP for that day. I dont go out of control. Sometimes I wish I could, but I would probably just get sick anyways lol

I simply try to watch my portions. I am concerned about calories, and fat, but for me portion control is the key. Also, I try to only eat when I am physically (stomach growling) hungry, and to stop when I feel comfortable - not stuffed. You can do this...hang in there!

The fact of the matter is that you can't always count on being motivated - it comes and goes. Think of all the things that you do on a day to day basis that you really don't want to do. Most of them you probably do anyway because it is the right thing to do or because you are somehow obligated to do it. Motivated or not you get these things done. You have to approach weight loss in the same way. You should stick to your plan on the weekends not because you WANT to but because it is going to get you to where you want to be and because you are obligated to yourself to get there.

I know it is easier to said than done. But if you wait around for motivation (or anything else for that matter) instead of DEPENDING ON YOURSELF there is no way you'll lose the weight that you want and keep it off for any length of time.

I'm trying to get myself motivated mommyof1, I know how hard this is. I was the same way, did so great all week and then BAM, blew it on the weekends. I always ended up so mad at myself on Monday's because of all the hard work I threw out the window. That's why i've come to the conclusion that "diets" don't work. I've decided the only possible way I can lose any weight at all is by changing what I do and basically who I am when I do it. I hide my food so no one will see what i'm eating, everyone thinks I eat like a bird, sheesh...if they only knew. So, no more! I have to be accountable for every little or big thing that goes in my mouth!! If I want a fudgesicle, i'm going to have one, I just HAVE to make room for it in my calories for the day. I can't do the no carb or no fat diets, I like too many different foods and if I deprive myself, I may as well stop now!

Good luck to you!!

25 pounds since January - that is awesome! I don't know when in January you started but that is at least 2 pounds a week. Witch is as high as you want to go (without being unsafe)!! So you are doing awesome!

I try to stick to my same plan on weekends. It is a bit harder with more people around (step-children) and my son's girlfriend. They love junk food and although I fix what they like, I don't eat it myself. During the week, when my husband and son are at work, It's very easy to fix my low-carb meals for me and my daughter. We both like the food and have become accustomed to eating this way. I might eat a little extra fruit if I feel the need for a sweet treat when everyone else is pigging out.
