this is funny- i'm the exact oppposite! at home i get distracted and it is to easy to get up and grab something even if i'm not really hungry. at the theatre, i can't even remember ever getting up to get something during the movie.

I would be the same, kms... home is much more tempting than at the theater would be <g> But at HOME I have healthy stuff only, so the results would not be as bad. :nono:

Hehe Misti I am frugal too, but my friends aren't teeheee. Sometimes I sneak some of their popcorn! (I never take their nachos though...)

yeah! just imagine how many carrot sticks you'd have to eat to equal a large popcorn with butter!!! :dizzy:

I always sneak my own things in and usually buy just a diet coke. I used to love theater popcorn, but it doesn't appeal to me anymore. I also make sure I have had a healthy meal before I go and that helps keep those munchies at bay.

Exactly! Or even my Orville Redenbacher Movie Theater Butter LIGHT popcorn. <G> That and sometimes an apple is a great nighttime/TV snack!

I cant do the 'healthy snack before you go' trick. Then I just eat whatever I am trying to avoid PLUS Ive had whatever the healthy snack was. As far as movies, I get a small popcorn. I LOVE MOVIE POPCORN SO MUCH :O(. It makes me so happy. I try not to go to the movies though. I used to not get popcorn, but then I would just smell it and think about what I was missing out on the entire movie. Ive brought my own snacks in too, doesnt make me feel much better.

haha, I suggest you work at a theater for a while ;) You won't want to touch the stuff ever again after about a week! :p I have a hard time even eating regular microwave popcorn nowadays--I NEVER eat theater popcorn. After working in the theater for about 2 years, I just can't even handle the thought...even the smell kinda makes me cringe.

It kills me the picky thing people would do with their popcorn. For a small popcorn, people would ask to layer the butter throughout. Umm, hello, there's so much butter when we just put it on TOP that it leaks out the bottom--I think layering is unnecessary (for the Large, I understand, but some would even ask me to layer the butter in a KIDDIE size!). Ooh, or people would come to the counter and tell me their popcorn was stale. In this case, I would go in the back, stand there for a second, come back out with the SAME popcorn, plop a squirt of butter on top, hand it back, and hear the customer rave about how much better it was than that stale popcorn  Can you tell I don't miss working there at all? :dizzy:
