Does anyone else get to tired to exercise when it's their TOM? I've never really paid attention to how my monthly visitor affects my body until I've tried to lose weight. How do you get through it?! I AM SOOO HUNGRY ALL THE TIME!! First of all I always weigh 5 lbs more during this time, I want to eat nothing put chocolate, and I feel too tired to exercise. I have not done any type of exercise since Friday night! I'm really going to have to makeup for it tonight no matter what.
I always feel too tired to exercise when its TOM. I have to though because in my mind its NOT an option. Even though I may not push as hard as I would on a regular basis, and Im constantly yawning.. I still do it. I always feel better afterward, besides.. if i exercise during TOM, they are shorter, and alot less painful.
I don't get too many food cravings (now that I said that I probably will, haha) but I hear you on being tired. I am normally a tired person anyway but my TOM came this morning and I feel nearly dead! I usually find after some exercise... like walking... I am much more awake after - for a couple hours anyway.
I am kinda debating - I am thinking about taking a break from exercising for a few days and just eating fewer calories... but I haven't fully decided yet.
I am always tired too -- the TOM doesn't help just makes me cranky LOL I just make myself exercise or I will be lazy the whole time and I refuse to do that.
I know I am one of the lucky ones but my TOM barely fazes me. It might be because I’ve been on BC pills for many a year, don’t know if that’s something you’d consider but I know a lot of women (one of my sisters included) that have had most of their PMS or other nastiness during TOM cleared up after they started the pill. Just a thought.
I take the pill - have for... three or four years now. The cramps are less and it comes more regular and isn't as heavy and doesn't last as long - but it still makes me super tired and a bit cranky sometimes, lol.
I don't know why but I can't take the pill. My blood pressure goes too high. I used to take them after I had my first child and I loved how they made my TOM alot lighter and predictable, but it didn't take long for my doctor to take me off of them. I also tried the shot which made me gain 30 lbs in 3 months, and the implant that goes in your arm which almost killed me. So I guess I'll have to deal with these symtoms myself though I have started taking Midol to see if it will help.
You know what? I used to be the exact same way, but it really, really improved after I lost about 10% of my body weight. Carrying extra weight around really did fatigue me more than I realized. Stick with your program, and good luck. It gets better.
You are definitely not alone here! I am extremely exhausted the week before and up until I get my little friend. Once it gets here though my energy level usually starts to climb a little. I have also started taking iron pills every day, this is the first month that I've done that and I've noticed the difference, not as tired as past months.
I get cramps so bad I figure it counts as exercise, since they extend up my back to my ribs and down my thighs to my knees in addition to my belly. All those muscles cramping up MUST equal some exercise! So, I take it easy and just continue to watch what I eat.
