I am not to keen on eating yogurt and im going to give it another go and
I was wondering does anyone have any suggestions for trying a certain kind or were you one that didnt like it but find you do now for some reason.
I into my good eating habits and really put a polish on them especially with the warmer weather for me to get out and walk, ride and sweat.
Thanks for any suggestions
I have three kinds you should try. Yoplait, Yoplait and Yoplait. Just kidding, actually they are all the same! I think Yoplait has the best flavor and no nasty artifical sweetener taste.
I pretty much like yogurt and try to have some every day because it's good for digestion, but there are some days I just can't stomach the thought. One really good one is Dannon La Creme (it claims to be as good as dessert--that's a stretch but its texture is similar to pudding).
A lot of yogurt brands have "whipped" yogurt now, like Yoplait Whips. The texture is totally not like yogurt so you might like that. The Chocolate Mousse flavor is so good, it reminds me of chocolate cake batter. I also like the orange one, it's like a creamsicle.
Most days, I just have Yoplait Light because they're about 100 calories and relatively filling. I really like the cherry and the vanilla flavors.
I'm in the same boat of trying to acquire a taste for yogurt; the low fat, no fat kind makes me gag, so here's what I'm doing: I'm trying to slowly get into it by eating the less healthy, but less bitter, kinds of yogurt like Trix (for kids I know) and go-gurts and some kind of Dannon that is really really creamy. I didn't like any of them to start with but now I find them enjoyable. I only have them occassionally and include them in my calories but eventually I think I'll be able to work up to the non-fat-good-for-you kind.
I have acquired tastes for several other things when I decided to improve my diet so I don't see why yogurt should be any different.

Go-Gurts aren't bad. We put them in the freezer and it's like eating ice cream or a popcicle.
I once hated yogurt also. Now I eat it every day and love it. The deciding factor for me was brand. They are definitely NOT all the same. When I was trying it out, I tried the store brand - Yuck! Then I tried Dannon - Yuck! I stayed away from yogurt for years after that because the mere thought of it made me gag. I finally decided to give it one last try and tried Yoplait this time. It was very good! I tried Dannon again, just to be sure - Yuck! So, I stick with Yoplait.
I also have a suggestion. Myself I love yogart but my mom is really struggling to eat more healthy. She is a very picky eater and won't eat yogart. I got her to try one of the drinkable yogarts. It's like a smoothy. She now drinks one almost every morning.
You may want to try one of those. Just a thought.
Cool -- I haven't thought about freezing go-gurts... see you learn something new every day!
They're really good that way, even my son will eat them. And he's one of those kids that's "allergic" to anything healthy, lol!
Just pop them in the freezer and when they're ready, cut the top off, push it up out of the wrapper and munch away. They're especially good in summer on a really hot day.
If you don't like yogurt, but you are eating it anyway, I guess it's because of the health benefits? In that case, eat the healthiest yogurt possible. No sense eating something you don't like and just eating a bunch of chemical crap.
I would read the labels - the best part about yogurt are the cultures which have a great effect on your digestion. The more yogurt cultures - the better. I would also look for high fructose corn syrup or other added sugars - the less the better.
I'm a fan of Stonybrook, Brown Cow and Horizons. They are all organic and have a high number of yogurt cultures.
I have also recently discovered Greek yogurt and it is amazing. It has a very thick, rich, creamy texture that is very different from other yogurt. At Trader Joe's I buy Fage 2% yogurt (the full fat is decadent and wonderful). I add a teaspoon of buckwheat honey and sliced strawberries and stir it up. It is really really really good. It's a little pricey (about 2 bucks a container) so I don't eat it all the time. I got the idea of adding honey because Fage sells a full fat version that comes with a little container of the honey on the side. I tried it once and was completely hooked.
I personally love Dannon yogurt with the fruit on the bottom. Their strawberry banana, pineapple, peach, and cherry flavors are my favorites. I've never tried Yoplait, so I can't comment on it.
Speaking of the drinkable yogurts, I also love their Fruit Frusion drinks. The only thing is they're 33 gramgs of sugar, which blows.
I also Hate yogart. I havent tried yoplait yet. I am going to now. I have found I can eat things now that I did not like before, now that I am eating healthier, Like fish. I never thought I would eat fish. But yogart and salad I have not been able to yet. I have tried both multable times in the past few weeks and just cant do it. So besides trying yogart one more time I have decided that If I tried it and I still dont like it , there is no need to torcher myself. There are planty of other things that I do like that are very good for me too. Good luck!!!!
hi i find that yoplait light fat free is very tasty. I like the flavor of harvest peach the best. But all the flavors are good. I did't like yogurt either but now i do. It's 100 calories per 6oz. It has 250mg of potassium, 85mg of sodium. 5grms of protein. Well i hope this helps you out.
