Congrats. I have been drinking much more water and keeping my diet more on the narrow path, and since last week I have limited my diet coke intake decreasing it by less than a third of what I used to drink. This is huge. I likely drink 2 at most a day, but more often drink no diet coke now. I seriously drank a lot lot lot more, so this is like going from a house to a closet space size deal to me.

I use to be a cronic diet soda drinker. I could drink 6 to 8 cans a day. It took me about a little over then six weeks drinking a whole lot of water and I no longer desire or crave to even want to drink soda pops. I had open a can of diet soda one day and got gagish about it then I went and pour me out some water. I never thought I would ever drop that habit.

Good for you! I went without soda for over a year, 1/05-1/06 and I honestly did NOT notice any difference in how I felt, my weight, or anything. I did get into the better habit of only drinking water at restaurants and now the only soda I can stand is Canada Dry diet ginger ale and I also like the new TaB energy drink (it's pink and tastes like pomegranate). The colas I used to love are now quite icky.

amyz, way to go. I gave soda up two years in aug. I have notice a big difference in my face. It was not easy the first month but it sounds like you are doing great. The flavored waters with no sodium are great to curve that craving for soda.

Good for you!!! I broke my soda addiction about 6 years ago and have been SO glad I did! Now I have one very occasionally but it just is not that big a deal and in fact doesn't taste all that great at all. Besides not pouring all that garbage into your system, you save a LOT of $$$$ Keep it up, and good job!!

Thanks to the rest of you too for sharing how you broke the soda habit!

Oh ya ice cream was a biggie for me too... and it puts the weight on me faster than anything. So it had to go bye bye LOL. BUT there is a place here called Emerald City Smoothie which makes the most wonderful smoothies out of all natural, healthful ingredients.... yum! Sometimes I go there on weekends and get one for lunch!

Good luck!

I'm trying to break that habit, as well. Today was my first day without soda. I used to drink it all day long. Today I drank a lot of water, which definitely helps!
