  • Have a look around the whole site. I see that you want to lose 100 pounds. Check us out in the 100 Club.

Also have to say, you are sooo pretty.
  • Don't start next week, don't start tomorrow, start NOW! By Picking a specific start time, it's almost encouraging a binge the night before (for me, anyway ). It's like, gosh, I'm starting a diet tomorrow, so I better eat all the yummy stuff I possibly can tonight! And that's just not healthy for anyone.

Like others have said, DON'T GO ON A DIET. Just make smarter food choices and do some exercise as often as possible. Watch portion sizes, try to eat "whole" foods instead of processed (lean meat, veggies, fruits, and whole grains rather than cookies, chips, white breads, candy--even low-carb, low-cal, low-fat, low-whatever products that are heavily processed are not as good for you as WHOLE foods). And of course, drink lots of water. Good luck!
  • I was 5'2" and nearly 200 pounds at 14, due to eating issues and medical issues, so I understand how hard it is, and remember it very clearly (i just turned 20). I've been in a healthy (neither over or underweight) range since I was sixteen, and grew two inches ^_^ though last semester started to gain again, teetering on being overweight again. If you ever need someone to talk with who is close to your age, PM me and i will give you my AIM screenname.

First, find healthy things you like! Normal ice cream grosses me out, but soy ice cream is wonderful and healthier. Second, I just want to say that you are so pretty, and that is true NOW, so treat yourself. Wear things you feel pretty in, do your make up every now and then, buy yourself new jewelery. Third, there is no miracle diet that will make you lose weight. It is moderation in all things. Some people find it easier to count calories, others carbs, and some fat, but it all comes down to portions. Counting calories is really simple for me, and it doesn't deprive you of any of the things you love.

Go to the doctor or a nutritionist. They will be able to tell you better what will work for you, and even be able to help you figure out a meal plan and realistic, healthy weight loss.

Find something you can still with! Yet again, if you are looking at a very low carb diet think "Will I be able to live my life without....". DOn't beat yourself up if you have a bad day and eat more then you should. There is light at the end of the tunnel, and good for you for doing something about your weight, because that will help prevent serious health risks that come with it!
  • I think it's really important what so many have said.

First - start NOW. Always. If you have a bad meal, or you eat a candy bar, don't let that be an excuse to eat badly for the rest of the day or even the rest of the meal.

Second - diets NEVER work. Only a lifestyle change will help you lose the weight and more importantly, maintain! At your age it is more important you are more active and worry less about restricting your eating habits. Can you get involved with something physical at school? Join a weight training class? Can you go on daily walks with your mom or go to the gym with her? And also, be prepared that how you are learning to eat now is how you will have to eat for the rest of your life. You can't give up carbs today, but expect to eat them "someday." As soon as you let go of that mentality you will succeed. Don't look to quick weightloss as the solution, it is not. Try to make healthy habits for yourself now that you can keep for the rest of your life.
  • I don't think it's been mentioned on here yet, but Fitday is a great tool for calorie-counting - it lets you record all your food, exercise, and vitamins, as well as keep a journal, and set goals for yourself. It's free, too, so take a look at it - it makes you more accountable to yourself for what you eat, 'cause you record everything. i don't think I can put the link on here, but if you just do a search for Fitday it'll come up.
