Yes, I have noticed that myself.

Everyone seems to put weight on after they are married. I am still working on a few ideas as to why

Relief, I think.

Same thing happened to my husband and me - we were relieved to be done forever with the dating scene and so, so glad to find someone we were so comfortable with and who loved us unconditionally.

I did gain after getting married but I think it was because I started cooking and eating regular dinners every night instead of just grabbing whatever was there. Plus I wanted to make real meals for my husband so I made full meals, whereas before, whatever was around was fine for me.

I gained weight after getting married b/c I lost a bunch of weight just prior to the ceremony (so I'd look better in the pictures) by eating very meager portions and a lot of self-denial. That was 4 1/2 years ago and I am finally back down to the same clothing size (although about 5 - 10 lbs. more) that I was in the weeks around my wedding [in fact, today I am wearing pants that haven't fit since my honeymoon, and they fit better today than they did back then].

I had lost weight prior to meeting my husband as well and after we were married in just a civil ceremony I gained it all back. Being comfortable and not on any Healthy eating plan did not help. and of course not exersising at all didnt help either. Just being comfortable and both of us not eating right was a weight gain waiting to happen.

I gained 20lbs in 6 mo after my wedding. I have since begun to loose it and all the other weight I have gained over the years. I am now 15lbs lighter than when I was married, and I am 20 pounds lighter still than when I met him. I want to loose about another 23 pounds and see what happens next.
