~~Weekly Goals~~ What Are Your's This Week?

Hiya everyone,
This is week 2 for me and it's time to "KICK IT UP A NOTCH"......BAM!!
I am going to use this thread to post my goals that I want to accomplish each week. I'm am not going to start of with huge unobtainable goals, because I don't want to set myself up for failure....so..each week I will post my "baby" goals and if I have been able to accomplish those goals, I will then "kick em up a notch" the following week and so on...
Here are my goals for the upcoming week...

Well, those are my goals for this upcoming week...I am going to try my best to accomplish them.

I hope some of you will join me and post your own "baby" goals.

*** :p Don't forget...these are "goals"...a list of thing we would "like" to accomplish this week. If for what ever reason, we don't meet our goals, it's no biggie, we just keep trying until we do!! :p ***

          Blyss 09-11-2005 03:31 AM

What a great idea! I definately have some mini-goals for this week!

          - To strength train 3 times this week
          - As much water and herbal drinks as I can - I'm trying to cut back on caffeine
          - Natural foods wherever possible
          - Most importantly, to continue trying to develop a healthy body image and healthy relationship with food. This is the hard one!

Best of luck to everyone with their goals - lets make this a GREAT week!

          Blyss*

Definitely a great topic for me -- I start back up teaching again this week. First big change in my routine since I started getting my health back this summer.

Simply put, my goals are to exercise (walk) every day -- preferably in the morning. AND to bring a healthy lunch and snacks so I don't end up eating at the vending machines!

          DesertDustBunnies 09-11-2005 10:03 AM

          Hiya Bliss, Yellowsub & Wyllenn,
Glad you could post your goals along with me and you all seem to have very reasonable goals. I am going to be posting my "baby" goals each week on this thread and I hope you will join me in doing the same.
Well...I better get off my butt here and accomplish one of my own goals for today and that is too take my doggie for a 20 min walk. WHoooHOooo

          DesertDustBunnies 09-11-2005 02:54 PM

          Yeahhhh...
I have completed one of my "baby" goals for today...
After laying on the couch contemplating whether or not to venture outside and go walking..I grabbed the dog leash and off me and Cody (my 12 year old collie mix) I walked....1.8 miles (I know this cause I took the car out afterward and clocked the miles lol) in 29:52 minutes..(9:52 minutes more than my 20 minute goal) Whoooohoooo!! Yippeeeee...
When we got home my doggie headed straight for his water dish and I headed straight for the fridge and had a large glass of icy cold water...best water I ever tasted lol. (my dog is giving me weird looks as if too say "Were not doing that everyday, are we?")
And get this.....330ish caloried burned..OHHH YEAhhhh...
I have to say..it took me a while to get into the right frame of mind lol (my couch is evil and too comfy at times)...but once I got outside and started walking, it felt great. Bring on tomorrow, cause I'm ready to go...

          dietcokeaddict 09-11-2005 04:38 PM

My goals for the upcoming week are:

To go one week without a big binge (I have never done this... so it might not work out but I am at least hoping for a few days *fingers crossed*)
To bike to and from school every day (about 15 minutes each way)
To drink 2.5 liters of water every day
Keep drinking ONLY water as a beverage (hehe... getting over my diet coke addiction)

          DesertDustBunnies 09-11-2005 05:35 PM

          Hi dietcokeaddict...
those sound like some awesome goals you have there...If you find yourself having a hard time going a week without bingeing, you might consider setting even smaller goals for that particular problem, like instead of "weekly goals", perhaps a daily goal or 48 hr goal..."My goal for this week is to go 3 days with bingeing" and see how that goes OR even making that a daily goal, for example...when you wake up in the morning you tell yourself that "today, I am not going to binge" and keep reminding yourself of that daily goal throughout the entire day.
If you can accomplish that goal, then you can bump it up a notch to the next level.
Good luck with this weeks goals....let us know how you do..

          haleys 09-11-2005 07:38 PM

          This is an awesome idea!

I want to work out 5 days this week and drink at least 8 glasses of water every day.

I also want to be at 199 or under by September 23rd.

Those are my mini goals for now!

          DesertDustBunnies 09-11-2005 07:43 PM

          Hi Haley...
Congrats on those 18lbs you have lost..WTG...I am sure that, with some determination, you will accomplish your weekly goals...hope you can check back with an update of how your week is going :):)

          ~whitedove33~ 09-11-2005 09:02 PM

Hi everyone...I am new here...but I will put up some goals for myself this week as well.

I would like to lose 3 pounds this week started at 262
I would like to start riding my bike again this week
I would like to add more water and herbal teas to my drinks...instead of caffeine

          DesertDustBunnies 09-11-2005 09:24 PM

          Hi ~whitedove33~
Welcome to the thread and thanks for posting your weekly goals.
Congrat's on losing 13lbs so far...YEAHHHH!!! That is an awesome accomplishment and I am sure you will have alot more on your journey...
I firmly believe in making goals, not just in weightloss, but in everyday life. It's what gives us the drive to get up in the morning.
I am hoping that by posting our goals, it will give us that drive we need to keep at it, for as long as it takes, so that we can accomplish our overall goal of being a healthier and happier person inside.
You can do it!!...We all can :)

          Safiyah_is_Fluffy 09-11-2005 10:25 PM

I want to exercise every day for at least 30 min and keep within my 1200 calorie range every day and go to the gym 2 times a week for my strength training !!!!

also want to drink more water and less diet tea!!!!!

          TMunday 09-11-2005 11:04 PM

Now this is a great topic! Great for accountability! :)

          My Goals:
          1. Lose at least a half of a pound again this week.
          2. Continue to exercise everyday - minimum 2 miles.
          3. Drink more water everyday.
          4. Drink less coffee everyday.
          5. Keep thinking positive.
          6. Stay between 1400 and 1600 in calories each day.

This is just a start. However, I have to say, since I have started to exercise everyday I have slept better at night and felt like a thousand bucks by day! It is awesome! To think I thought something was wrong with me before I got back into exercising! My muscle felt like they were running marathons all day.. and all I could do was be lazy and sleep all day and night! Started execising every day and my muscles feel great and I am only sleeping at night!

Healthy food choices and exercise everyday really does make such a difference! :)

          ~whitedove33~ 09-11-2005 11:21 PM

Thank you Lisa...I feel very welcome here....I lost 218 pounds before...and I will lose these 120 pounds as well....

          DesertDustBunnies 09-11-2005 11:27 PM

Holy Smokes!! 218lbs?? WOW...that is amazing...I am glad you feel welcome..:):):);)

          2frustrated 09-12-2005 05:17 AM

Never mind weekly goals - my goal for today is to not laze around, actually do my weights this afternoon and practise some back kicks and eat healthily!

Had a rough weekend and feel like I want to go back to bed RIGHT NOW! Once I get today straightened out, the rest of the week should be no problem! So goal for the next few hours - get me to Tesco and buy me some healthy food, cos right now there's only Mars Bars and yoghurts in the fridge!

Goal for today: Get my a$$ in gear and do my weights and kicks

Goal for the rest of the week: no slacking and carry on as usual!

          DesertDustBunnies 09-12-2005 09:11 AM

          Hi everyone,
I will be without my trusty computer for about 3 days or so :(
I have been having problems with it and it also needs a new CDRW drive so I found someone to tear it apart and work on it over this next week. I'm just hoping I will get it back in one peice lol. I should probably just break down and buy a new one but that won't be happening anytime soon.
See ya all when I come back...........Good luck with your weekly goals

          angel_rose105 09-12-2005 10:15 AM

          My week's Goals

          My weeks goals are:
          • Stick to Healthy Food Pyramid every day
          • Exercise 3 times
          • Keep up with my University studies
          • Record what I eat every day to ensure I'm on track
          • Don't smoke
          • Stay away from caffeine

          ~*~Chantelle~*~

          dietcokeaddict 09-12-2005 02:08 PM

Oh foof. Well I think i really am not addicted to diet coke any more (it's been almost a week and not even a craving! :D)
I was grazing around for a few hours before dinner, and took an extra handful of pasta afterwards (but only one handful! even if it was rather large...:p), but no major binge so far. I read your advice DustBunnies, and it was completely spot on! I think I will go tomorrow without bingeing and try not to graze around too much. Planning planning planning....

          DesertDustBunnies 09-14-2005 05:35 PM

          HELLOOOOOoooo.......
Where is Blyss, YellowSub, Wyllen, Dietcokeaddict, Haleys, Whitedove33, Safiyah is fluffy, TMunday, 2frustrated, and...angel_rose105?

It's the middle of the week and I was just curious on how everyone is doing with their "baby goals"

Me...well..I am doing pretty good with MOST of the goals I set for myself.
I've been walking my dog for a good 30 mins every morning going about 3.5 mph (poor CodyBear don't like when I show him the leash no more LMAO)
I've been doing my WATP dvd and my strength training too. I went to the gym today and although I got a good workout...I actually didn't care for it much. I prefer walking the desert like a bum and finding things on the side of the road and it's a great way to meet the neighbors or at least their big rotwiellers HAHAHA..

My BIG problem is H2O..or the lack of it I should say. :o
I dont drink any soda...at all..quit 14 days ago...but I am having a hard time getting in more than 64oz of water aday...somedays I may only sip on a 16.9 oz bottle ALL DAY... :o :o
I tried adding that crysal light but havent yet found a flavor I like :barf:
So..that is something I am working on and will no doubt be my biggest challenge.

I have been able to control my "homer" moments  and make wiser choices when it comes to snacking.
I made homemade Fudge for my hubby who is currently deployed with the U.S Navy and except for licking my fingers here and there, I managed not to have any myself. I packed my husbands in containers and got it ready for shipping and the rest of the fudge left over went to all my neighbors.

Let me know how you guys are going.....remember...if we don't meet our goals this week...NO BIGGIE...we can try again next week.

          ~whitedove33~ 09-14-2005 06:08 PM

Here I am....I am drinking more water at least...have not lost any weight yet...or used the bike...but I am working on it...I still have several days left.

          TMunday 09-14-2005 06:17 PM

So far so good for me for the most part! Tomorrow is my weigh in so we shall see the results tomorrow. :crossed: I am doing better with the coffee.. using a smaller cup... and less splenda. So that is definetely a plus! :)

          DesertDustBunnies 09-14-2005 06:26 PM

Good luck on your weigh-in tomorrow Tracy...
Whitedove...good job on increasing your water...
I am proud of you guys :bravo:

          ~whitedove33~ 09-14-2005 07:42 PM

I bought a new scale today and found out my old one was not accurate...so I had to change the weight on my ticker....I did not want to change it on my initial post...cause it would look like I edited it...honestly....I have not gained 3 pounds

          ~whitedove33~ 09-14-2005 07:58 PM

ok...I just went upstairs and rode my bike for one mile....not much but it is a start...it is way too hot here to do anymore tonight.

          DesertDustBunnies 09-14-2005 08:24 PM

          YEAHHHHHH. ~whitedove33~
          One mile down...WTG.
One mile is all it takes...and you did it!!

          Be proud of yourself...

          :D Hi everybody!
I'm new here too. I just found this site today. But I'll jump right in.
          My goals for this week:
Exercise at LEAST 30 mins everyday
Drink my 8 glasses of water.
Make a new plan for how to get this weight off.
I read a quote that always made sense to me....a goal without a plan is just a wish.
This is a GREAT site! So glad I found it. I think I'll like it here.
          Becky

          TMunday 09-14-2005 08:37 PM

Welcome Becky! Love the that quote! Is that true or what!!! There are many different plans to choose from! I wish you luck with whatever you decide to choose!! :)

          DesertDustBunnies 09-14-2005 08:55 PM

          Hiya Becky...
Welcome welcome welcome...You have some great goals there and I am sure you will find a weightloss plan that fits your needs and that helps you to sucessfully lose the pounds forever.

Don't worry if you don't quite meet your goals each week. This is not a contest and we are not trying to keep up with anyone. Just remember, IT'S NO BIGGIE!! We just keep at it until we accomplish it!!

          p.s...is your weight tracker accurate??

          SillyFluff 09-15-2005 12:01 AM

          Okey doke,
          Well lets see..

          My goal..

To finally start walking in the morning now that this stupid storm is gone.
To not drink a drop of pepsi the WHOLE week (so far so good)
To eat breakfast every day (thats a big deal for me, i NEVER used to eat breakfast)

Sound do-able? Boyfriend "SAYS" we are gonna get up tomorrow and go walking since the storm is gone...guess we'll see, its still raining off and on.

          DesertDustBunnies 09-15-2005 01:00 AM

          ~Whitedove~~~

I wasnt refering to your weight tracker.....sry for the confusion...I was talking to Capnhooty...AKA Becky..as she put her name on the bottom of her post.
sryyyyyyy....I hope i didn't tick you off...it was not my intentions. If you go back a few post to Capnhooty...so can see what i mean.
          Again...I am truley sorry

          DesertDustBunnies 09-15-2005 01:01 AM

In fact that whole post was for Capnhoooty...not for you...sry again...

          DesertDustBunnies 09-15-2005 01:13 AM

          ugggg...now i feel bad...dang it...

let me explain a little more....I was reading capnhootys post and noticed her weight tracker... it says like 178lbs lost...130lbs past your goal (cant remember exactly)..after reading that she said today was her first day I thought she may have entered in the wrong numbers when signing up for the tracker and she may not have noticed it.

anyways I hope I didnt offend anyone....

ok...well I think that's my cue to take a little break from the message boards lol

          Nutbar 09-15-2005 04:28 AM

Goals for this week...Exercise even though i won't be able to get to the gym...watch what i eat, mainly no snacking the bad foods and no eating past 9pm
Going to try short bursts of jogging while i go for my walk, since i won't be able to get to the elliptical and treadmill. I know week's almost over, but i'm leaving to spend time with my bf and it's for 5 days, so this will be my goal for the next 5 days. Also won't let period weight gain get me down. lol :s:

          capnhooty 09-15-2005 07:11 AM

          :dizzy: Whoa!
          I goofed.....LOL
          I'm such a goofball sometimes.
But at least I had a good laugh. I SWEAR sometimes I think I have adult ADD.
Anyway I THINK it's fixed now.
Thank you for the very friendly welcome!

Well, I didn't do it! I didn't lose the half of a pound this week... I gained instead. But I am going to KEEP ON working on it. :) I did continue to exercise though! Which is a good thing. 3 and 4 I am still working on. But I did cut back on my coffee a bit.. and I am using a smaller mug as well! :) And I am still thinking positive! So I am still on the right track! :) Hope everyone had better results this week.

Edit: Oops.. I forgot number 6 lol. I did stay in my calorie range except for the day I had pizza. That is a big no no! :nono: I won't do that again! :^:
