  • Just think of how you would notice if you had gained ten pounds. Clothes would be a little tight, you wouldn't want to see people whom you last saw when you were lighter. Now think about how you've lost ten pounds instead of gaining. Be proud of yourself.
  • [QUOTE=cagirlygirl] I actually took the old one out, laid it on the bed and then laid the new jacket over it to see if it really was smaller. It was. Go figure. [QUOTE]

I've done that before with my pants/jeans too!! Aren't we terrible?! LOL
  • I went from this to this and I still feel fat. I know I'm not fat, but I don't feel thin. I probably never will.
  • Jo,

    You look GREAT!! Really fantastic!

But I know that may not make a difference in how you feel...because I feel the same as you. It's like there's some kind of mental "recovery" process involved after major weight loss -- like recovering alcoholics knowing they will ALWAYS be alcoholics (I know that's a drastic comparison, but it's the best thing I could come up with -- so I hope I didn't offend anyone).

Someone should write a book about this weird self-image that is left over after losing weight.
  • Actually, funniegrrl is writing that book, post by post. She started a wonderful thread here all about body image.

Check some of the threads in the Maintainers Forum. We all seem to have this problem to some extent, but it does get better

    Thank you very much!!!
  • Ditto...
I started at around 300 pounds and have lost about 20 pounds. I don't have any real before pictures, so the other day I had my husband take some of the -20 pound me...

I looked soooo fat!!!! Still! (well, duh!)

I had to really do some mental work to talk myself out of a depression. Remind myself that my clothes fit a LOT better, etc.

I just want the NEXT set of pictures to look different.
