Question New Member w/ Questions

Hi, everyone!

I'm new, but have been here before as just someone reading.

Is there a main thread for weight discussions, exercise, and food? I think this one is it, but I want to make sure. I don't have a ton of online time so want to really get settled into a place.

I'm 34 and need to lose about 60 pounds. I'm sick of looking for reasons. I've decided to just fake it till I make it.

Hi Emma!

I'm new-ish, too.

(As I'm sure you've seen) there's threads devoted to just about everything. I also know there's a specific thread around here *somewhere* that's a group of really friendly-sounding folks trying to lose around 60 lbs. I can't remember what topic it's under, though. Whoops.

EVERYONE around here seems really nice, and people seem to answer posts/questions very quickly. I've learned a heck of a lot here already.

I love the "fake it till I make it"...that's a great line!

My name's Kate, by the way, and I'll be 33 next week. Nice to connect with someone in the same age-range.

Welcome!

This part of the forum is called Support, and the threads here are generally when someone is needing support-they are having a bad day, they are having trouble staying on track and need a kick in the keister-just general support.
As far as diet issues, there are different sections of the forum that deal with certain plans if you will-such as Weight Watchers, low card, Beach, and others. If you don't see the plan that you are on-check under General Diet Plans-there are lots of plans there listed as well such as calorie counting, Jorge Cruise, and others.
There is a great exercise section of the forum-that is broken up into Ladies Who Lift (strength training), general exercise, and exercise videos.
There are some great nooks and crannies here in this forum-everything from general chatter (non diet related) to recipes suitable for different plans. Welcome!

I saw threads in support for exercise and food as well. Are those generally not where I should be posting? I think others are ... sorry for any confusion.

Basically, just post ANYWHERE you want--wherever you feel comfortable. You can post questions here or more specific questions in more specific threads. If something is truly way off-topic, the moderators may move it, but that's only to help you to get better responses (for example, they may move a specific South Beach Diet question to the South Beach Diet forum). Or, even if your post isn't moved, you'll surely get suggestions from people responding here on where else you may want to look (or ask) for information. Post away!

If you are wanting to talk about a specific topic, or ask a question about something-the best way to get responses is to post in an area concerning that topic. For instance, you probably would not get a good response if you were asking about South Beach in the Weight Watchers section.
If there is a thread started here in Support that is pretty specific to another area of the forum, then I usually move it to that area. It just keeps the threads and forum cleaner, and it helps the poster get a better response.
Support is usually just that-support. The support they may need can have something to do with diet and exercise obviously, but it is usually support-such as someone wanting support when they are having a bad week, etc.
