What kind of bread do you eat?

What kind of bread do you eat and how mutch?

I eat some "black" bread, sometimes it's halgraned sometimes just colored, he he

I eat a lot, with every meas I guess.

What do you prefeare?

I have no idea what black bread is. I just have reduced-calorie whole-grain bread, which I keep in the freezer because I use it so infrequently.

I usually try to get lower-calorie bread like Sara Lee's Delightful line. Nothing over 45 calories per slice, and I try to get as much fiber as possible. There is actually one kind with extra fiber, but I can't always find that at the store.

I usually get Nature's Own Carb Short whole wheat. I try to find one that is low in carbs and whole wheat. And I generally eat 1 to 2 slices a day.

When buying bread for myself, I always buy brown breads that are wholegrain. But I dont eat a lot of bread anymore.

I eat Weight Watchers bread. 90 Calories (for 2 slices), .5 Grams of Fat, and 4 grams of Fiber.

None.

But I do eat other carbs like sweet potatoes, oatmeal, beans, and fruit.

I eat whole wheat or multigrain bread primarily. Some days I don't have any, but if I do I will probably have two slices.

Mel,

This is my third week without bread. (Before, I ate whole grain/whole wheat with at least 3 grams of fiber a slice.) Do you occasionally have bread? Or do you find that the other carbs you list provide enough fiber?

I've eliminated the bread (at least for now), but am wondering if I'm getting enough fiber from the fruit and complex vegetables I'm eating. (Too hot for oatmeal!)

I don't keep bread around the house. If I'm out at a restaurant and get served bread, I'll have a slice of whatever it is. But I know if I keep bread around the house I'll overload on it, so I keep it away as much as possible.

I eat whole wheat bread and low carb wheat bread.

BBWonwheels 08-10-2005 01:17 PM

i eat 100 % whole wheat bread

I don't eat a lot of bread either, I prefer to get my fiber from other sources like Mel does... I find that unless a bread states that it is ''high'' fiber on the label it doesn't have that much fiber, beans, potatoes and veggies have more fiber, IMO.... I also find that some breads must have a lot of sugar in them because I get that sugar low after eating certain breads...

I don't tend to have bread in the house, although I do eat it from time to time.

When I do eat bread I have it as a treat and have really nice speciality/continental bread without worrying about its nutritional content. I'd rather eat really nice bread infrequently than relatively healthy but dull bread all the time.

We tend to pick up 100% whole wheat bread of some sort, usually with 4+ grams of fiber per slice. I enjoy the new Sara Lee line of whole grain breads, but what I really dig is Milton's. It's a little more expensive, but totally worth it.
