Thumbs down I'm ready to give up

I'm bored with dieting. I have such a hard time coming up with healthy meals that are low in calories. And we're moving soon and we've just been super busy, so it's easy to fix something fast (and fast is usually fatty.) I had lost 6 pounds since I started my diet again at the 1st of this month, but I've gained back 3 of it in the past couple days (could be I'm getting ready to start my period though.) I'm getting discouraged.

Don't give up when you're doing so well! Those extra 3lb probably aren't all fat anyway over a couple of days, you'd have to eat a lot for that to happen. Give it a week or two and I'm sure they'll come off again and take some more with them, particularly if it is because of the time of the month.

One thing that really helps is to not think of it as "dieting" -- some abnormal way to eat that one day will no longer be necessary. The simple fact is that you have to eat well (healthily) if you want to lose weight and keep it off. That means you have to make fundamental changes in the way you look at food. I know eating healthily can be a little more work, but it CAN be done without too much pain. Even if you are stuck with fast food on a busy night, there are horrible choices and good choices you can make. If you stop what you're doing now, what's the alternative? Go back to the way you used to eat, regain the weight you lost, then gain some more. Those old food habits may be what you are used to, comfortable, easy, etc. but they are NOT a viable alternative if you want to have a healthy body and life.

I can tell you it was hard today I had taken a vacation from working out ,big mistake because getting back in the habit was hard but I forced myself to keep going. Find that will, Find that motavation and dont let go.
I hope you dont give up on yourself because you are worth it and so is losing the weight.
Its hard one of the hardest things Ive done but its worth it all.

If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you always got! In a nut shell, If you want changes, you hav to change! I know it's harder, at least at first, to eat healthy. A lot of times, we don't know how! I have all the calorie guides to all the fast food places, so I can choose something with calories that I can "live" with. There are a lot of healthy choices out there, become aware of them. And, plan ahead! Don't get so hungry that you just grab anything! Know what you're going to eat for the next meal. I make out a menu for the week before I go grocery shopping so I have all the food in the house, and no excuses. And try to find some time to exercise. With moving that might be a stretch, but it will releve some of the tension and help you gather your thoughts. You can do this!

Bored?! But there are soooo many good things out there! Don't worry about being "low in calories" right off the bat. The key is to at least be lower in calories than you were before. Any reduction, even minor, can help you to lose weight. Snack on fruit instead of junk food. I find frozen fruit to be a reallygreat treat because it is sweet and when froze, is more like having a popsicle or something (frozen strawberries and peaches are awesome!). You can do a lot of damage to that fat just by making minor changes. Try having green beans or broccoli instead of mashed potatoes or corn. Use oil-based dressings salad dressings instead of creamy. Use ground turkey for hamburgers instead of beef. Use reduced-fat cheese instead of regular (I am not a fan of fat-free cheese--to plasticy for my liking). Add more veggies to pasta sauces (diced tomatoes, onions, spinach, mushrooms...). Where exactly is your boredome coming from? Is it meals, snacks, drinks...I'm sure we can come up with a bunch of helpful suggestions to spice up your diet! Just takes a little creativity, and many minds are better than one, so let us help you, and don't get discouraged!

Sounds like you need to sit down and make some tough choices. We are all creatures of habits and looks like you are on the path to making some unhealhty ones that will only continue to sabotage your previous efforts.

Why do you want to lose weight? Are you ready to let go of all the excuses to do so?

Maybe you should consider trying to maintain your loss until you feel more stabilized with the move to keep on with your efforts.

Best I can offer is that weight loss is hard work and you are not able to cut corners or give in to every little external situation. Plan ahead and put yourself first regardless of what is going on in your life. If you don't who will? There will never be the ideal time to lose weight....life happens, so you need to just keep plugging away.

Good luck!
