OOops, one other thing I forgot! Somebody mentioned they've been eating alot of licorice as a treat, since its low in f&c's , just wanted to add that if you'll need to add extra potassium to your diet if you eat alot of licorice, as it depletes the potassium in your body. Don't know why, just does. ( ever get feet cramps?)

Hey girls, hope the weekend is going well for all. Sue, glad you had fun bowling and great job about making the paper. Good Evening Ladies...
Lisa - I know the feeling, I tend to do the same thing.... stress eat, depress and eat... ugg, and with TOM here, it's been hard with the cravings. I really am having a hard time controlling things right now... but I'm doing my best and I am sure you are too... Have you seen the post in April Chicks 3 about the zig zag dieting, I may have posted some info on this one (#4) as well. Diane mentioned it, and I posted it in another forum and I got some more great info and pasted the rest in here. I know it started in #3 for sure tho. Maybe the zigzagging (calorie cycling) might help you? I too am bouncing back and forth... specially after Mothers Day (eek). I had to start my program all over again... but its okie. At least I'm not giving up and it looks liek you aren't either. That's the most important thing! :) *huggerz* About the Marine and having a diploma... yeah that's what I thought. I keep telling this kid if he wants to be in the Marines, or any branch of military for that fact, he has to be able to past school and the apptitude test, (asvab?) or something like that. He's going on to High School next year and they are going to have a MCROTC. I'm not sure if he's going to join, but who knowes, maybe he will and maybe it will straighten him up. If it's something he really wants. I am praying for the best for him. He's really smart, just has to apply his brain. He keeps telling me he was dropped on his head to many times... hehehe... and I keep telling him, now is the time to prove everyone wrong. Eggplants and Peppers... yum! I make a killer eggplant parmesan but no one here will eat it LOL I make great roasted papers in tomato suace as well... goes great on the eggplants in a sandwich or alone... EEK okie, now I'm hungry LOL I gotta call my grandmother and see if she'll send me her recipe for her breaded asparagus. Suppose to be healthy I hear. She always calls me and asks me when I'm going to come out and visit her. She wants me to go pick eggplants and asaragus with her. Maybe I'll suprise her after I shed a few pounds... well alot of pounds... Thanks for the reply Lisa! :) My day went well... I went shopping, bought me two cute summer shoes and then I bought myself a pedometer, even though McDonalds has free ones... they don't seem to have those adult happy meals available here yet and I was impatient *big grin* Anyways, I bought myself a set of work out weights, came with a set of 1 2 3 & 5lb weights. I also bought a video tape to work out with . Kathy Smith - Lifting Weight to lose weight. Man, I'm outta shape LOL I was hurting and I know I am gonna be hurting in the morning as well. It was a 40 minute upper and lower body work out. I got through all of it, but I had to some short breaks in there to make sure the parts of my body were still attached. Yup they all here! I also did about an hours worth of gardening. I had to prune my roses down and weed the front garden. I had a very good day today. I'm still trying to find my Richard Simmons Sweating to the Oldies video. It's somewhere around here! I'll find it sooner or later. I hope everyone has had a good day... gonna go jump in shower and head to bed... catch you all later... Huggers... Sue... |
good morning
hi all,
it is a sunny morning and very nice outside. supposed to be chance of storms later in afternoon. we went to the lake yesterday and hubby and son went fishing while me and daughter did all the yard work. hummmm something wrong with this picture lol. anyway it was a pretty nice day till about 3:30 then we left because of storm. fixed hamburgers, hot dogs, and smoked grillers for the family but i ate salad and carrots with ff french dressing for dip. yeah me!! well im gonna go out side and enjoy before it gets nasty later on. Talk to you LIGHTER!!! Peg |
hiya ladies! Well, after having a very questionable weekend foodwise, I am back on the wagon again---I won't even go into yesterday!! I ate my heart (or stomach) out, but I felt really guilty, so I was really good today--i only atre about 1150 calories. I just found out that my best guy friend is getting married July 24th, so I really want to lose a good amount of weight by then so I can look decent for the wedding--thats 2 months so I want to lose about 30lbs before then... I know it's a steep goal, but I lose weight fast when I am this big, so that's good... I think I can pull it off...at least now I have an "event" to look forward to, and to think about whenever I feel like binging or going off plan...
I hope everyone is doing well, I didn't weigh myself this weekend because of my TOM and the fact that I went hog wild yesterday (pardon the pun)! Anyway, take care and have a good night! Tara |
chickiedoodles
Hey Aprilchickies,
Sounds like most of you all have had a trying weekend, at least where the food is concerned....what can we do to get back on track? I for one, am going to just start a new day tomorrow. I won't say I binged or anything...we'll just call it a "free-day" too many carbs mostly. I've been hungry all day, and I"m sure its becuase I didn't have much protein. I forgot to thaw the chicken last night, so ya' know! *shrug* Tomorrow, weather permitting, I am going to start walking again. Last week, I couldn't, I'm really hoping to get some good weather again soon, this rainy stuff is nice, but combined with the heat, its not so great, and I can't take the baby out for a walk on a thunderstorm, that doesn't seem so bright! What are the rest of you doing this week? Any goal setting? My goals are: Eat between 1200-1600 calories daily, zig-zagging between the two. Get my folate/omega 3's up ( to fight off those blue feelings) and to either walk daily ( weather permitting, minimum 1 1/2 miles, to include a hill) or 40 minutes pilates. AND, not to weigh myself again until next saturday. ( which is what I said I would do last saturday, but didn't stick too, so the scale is going to be put away !...even if I have to ask hubby to do it for me!...lol) Here's to a great week! Lisa |
This week I am going to start kicking up my exercise, this last week I started walking and I also turn on my favorite music and dance all over the house for at least 30 minutes.... I have also started doing ............ SIT UPS, thats right sit ups and my abs are feelin it!!! I used to do them a lot when I was in high school and never really minded them.....its a lot harder when you have a belly and HUGE boobs in the way ...he he he...:) But I still get it done,The thing I am having the hardest time with is drinking water, you would think it was poison the way I avoid it  I hope you all have good week, Jamie

Happy Monday
Had a good time this weekend, but was not so good on the diet. I won't even weigh until tomorrow, i am scared. I didn't have any sweets, just bread. Now I wish i would have had the sweets instead.
Sat. I went to my estate sale and found lots of goodies. I was a bad girl and didn't exercise, just sat around the pool. Sunday, however, I took my dog for a walk. I can't go very long or too fast with him b/c he overheats. It was already about 85 degrees at 9 in the morning. I then went for my fast walk. 45 minutes fast, listening to dance music and walking to the beat. When I got home I was sooooo hot I took my shoes off and jumped in the pool with my clothes on. I took all my wet clothes off while I was in the pool and laid face down on a float for about 15 minutes. I am now in pain sitting here at work, my butt got sunburned. Sue, I am proud of you going and getting your equipment and tapes. That's wonderful. What I find helpful is to put your equipment right in the way. I mean, don't tuck your weights away in a closet, put them where you can see them so you remember to do it. Sounds like you're very motivated. Also, congrats on the good bowling game! Yall have a great day :) |
AAARRRRRGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm at the library.....my pc modem got zapped last week (thunderstorm) through the phone line and I got a new one but now I think my video card got it too somehow. Any way Larry is home today(his work truck is in the hospital) so we just dropped HAL off (my pc's name is HAL) at the pc hospital and we are waiting in town at the library for it tooo be checked out. Jamie---Thank you so much for checking on me and I did see your e-mail,then my machine totally froze up, and I couldn't do anything after that. Just scanned trough the new #4 thread here and saw some new LOSERS!!! Welcome, and you'll get a dose of me soon enough..lol Well I miss you chicks, and everyone here is in my thoughts. If the pc guy can't fix me up today we'll have to leave it till next Sat when DH is home again to pick it up...so if you don't see me tonight or tomorrow then next week for sure (I HOPE).... Love you chicks..... Diane P.S Come on now tell the truth... did you think I fell off and was sitting in the corner somewhere eating a massive amount of cake????..... |
hiya ladies, how are ya on this lovely Monday morning? Well, I am back in the saddle again after a bad weekend with food. I was good on Friday for the most part, but I binged on Saturday and ate WAY over my calories for the day. Yesterday was a new day though, and a new week, and I did really well. I ate about 1150 calories so I am back on track again. I have been doing a little bit of the video I rented from the library called yogarobics--which incorporates yoga, pilates and aerobics together...it's pretty cool, a good workout, but it's a bit "90's" for my taste..oh well, take what you can get I guess...
Hope everyone is back on track and doing well! Take care and have a good day! Tara |
getting ourself back on track great job.....
DIANA GIRL MISSED YOU HOPE TO HAVE U BACK SOON.... ;)
GREAT JOB TO EVERYONE WHO IS GETTING BACK ON TRACK AFTER OUR TOM BINGE FEST (DUNNO WHAT TO CALL IT HEHE). SUE I USED TO HAVE THAT VIDEO SWEATING TO THE OLDIES UNTIL SOMEONE WALKED IN ON ME DOING IT AND START CRACKING UP LAUGHIN ... BUT I ENDED UP SELLING IT ON EBAY LOL NOW HOWEVER I WISH I HAD IT. BTW GREAT JOB ON THE WEIGHT LIFTING VIDEO (DON'T THINK I COULD DO IT). I did good this weekend sat i had 1088 cal sun 1110 compared to 1520 cal on friday i say i much inproved so far today i have had around 500 dunno what ill eat for dinner. DID my si6 video sun and today also did curcuit training today... I'm gonna go read im a lil tired hehe... much love heather :dizzy: :dizzy: :dizzy: |
Nancy Drew – Thanks! Oh yes I put them out in the living room under the DVD player inside my entertainment center. I tried it out the same night, I was sore the next day hehe, I will try lighter weights for the next time. It’s funny how I had very little motivation and now all of a sudden here I am with tons of it. I just hope it lasts!
Diane – I’m sorry to hear about your computer :( I hope you will be able to fix it with least cost and quickly. I’m a looser rofl. As funny as it sounds, it’s true! *grins* I love it! LOL! Tara – Hey there, I purchased a dvd called “Lifting Weights to lose weight” I was looking at getting a pilattes one, but wasn’t sure what it was. Let me know how you like it as far as the work out goes :) I am enjoying my video, and I even found my Richard Simmons video. So now I have two videos that I can work with! Heather – Yeah I know what you mean. A while back, when I first got the tape, my step daughter walked in on me doing it and I could hear her laughing all the way back to her room. Hehehehe but now she wants to do the videos with me. She saw the weight sets that I got and she’s all KEWL I WANNA TRY hehehe. So Maybe I’ll do the Richard Simmons with her and we can laugh together *grins* Richard Simmons is such a cutey pie! I love his hyper attitude, so much energy! Tonights my bowling league, so I won’t be playing with my new video or weights since I’ll be getting exercise elsewhere… But I’m proud to say that I lost another 4lbs… I only had to jump on and off the scale a few hundred times to make sure I was reading it correctly and that I was standing on it correctly…but YUP it’s right :) I’m dreading the day the weight slows down tho… Sue… |
Good morning
Hey yall!
Hope everyone had a good evening. I went to gym last night and did 30 minutes on the elliptical machine. I got the machine next to that "power" exerciser that I told yall about last week. I also sat in sauna for 10 min. It feels good to sweat. My weight, however, is the same as last week. I am just glad that the weekend didn't blow things for me. I do think that I am going to switch diets. This one the doctor put me on is not giving me the instant gratification that I need. I didn't understand it in the beginning when it said I could eat rice and potatoes. I am going to go back to Atkins starting Tuesday (after I eat all this rice and potatoes that I have already bought and after the Memorial Day weekend). I am sure that I will see fast results with that. I have thought about getting SouthBeach. I don't know much about it, though. What is the difference? Did you see the Swan last night on TV? guess it has been on for weeks and I've missed it before. I just don't think that I would go through all that surgery. What do yall think? Hope yall have a good day. |
Hey there NancyDrew - I watched the first episode of Swan. The transformations are amazing. One of the ladies come out looking almost like someone else. I find all that surgery being done in 3 months time period is kinda scary. I have missed all the other shows tho because I bowl league on Mondays and usually don't get home til 9 p.m. and most of the time I got my happy butt on the computer trying to finish up papers for class ehehhehe. I have heard of SouthBeach, but am not familiar with it. I too would like to know the difference hehehe...
I'm feeling kinda blah today. I know for sure I'm bloated because of TOM. Yesterday I had a hard time bowling. My thumb seemed to form a nice suction cup feeling when it was in my ball so everytime I throw it, it would get stuff and would end up sticking to my thumb every so often. :( I cant wait for it to go away... I was up late last night trying to finish my paper and get it printed out., so I had a hard time getting up this morning. Uggg, this is my long day to, I'm gone from 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. Hopfully I'm not snoring at work or even by time I get to my last class tonight. EEEK! I'll catch you ladies later... Sue... |
Hiya girls... well, I don't know what's wrong with me...I was really good sunday but yesterday I ate about 2000 calories.. I'm really depressed about that. I am DETERMINED to get back on track today, I absolutely cannot fall into a downward spiral and undo the 4lbs I already lost. This is such an upward battle for me because I feel like I am never going to beat this addiction to food. I try not to get down and take one day at a time, but when I look at the scale and see I have over 100lbs to lose, it seems very daunting. I try to set small goals, but it just seems so hard sometimes.
I guess today is a new day, I can't take back yesterday, so all I can do is be really good today. I need some encouragement :( Tara |
Morning girls! glad to see Diane back in the house!! was starting to wonder...he hehe... Nancy and Sue, all I know about South Beach is that is a low carb diet but not as strict as atkins and i have heard that it is a lot easier to stick with than atkins....there are books at the library and bookstores all about it. A girl I work with is trying it and she can eat 30 grams of carbs a day, but if you are interested i would check out a book on the subject and see if it would work for ya! I did see a couple episodes of "the Swan" and I think its crazy! The one episode I seen the lady wasn't that bad to begin with and when they finished with her I thought she looked scary, I mean like SCARY, like a cracked out doll or something....he he he...sorry but thats the only thing I could think of..... but some of them did look really good. I dont think I could put myself through all of that.
Tara, You are in the right frame of mind to forget yesterday and focus on today, after all we can only do this one day at a time. When I go over my calories, i just think of it this way, I am in this for such a longtime (losing weight) one day is not going to throw me completely off track, if I am being good for the next year to lose all of this weight one day isn't going to make or break me. Just keep up your motivation and come here and talk to us. You are a strong girl and you want this bad enough, so I know you can do this. The other day, I made this good dinner and I wanted to get another plate of it soooo bad, instead I walked in here to the computer and logged on and completely forgot about that second helping. It was really eye opening about how important this site is, and how important it is to have support. Your doing great!!! Jamie |
Afternoon chat
Sue, what are you going to school for? I am also back in school. I am studying for a Master's in Judicial Administration. I just started back last semester. My ultimate goal is to go to law school.
Anyway, the Swan. My husband said that he thinks that they "uglied" the women up for their "before" photo. I did see the one with the hook nose and the one with the crooked teeth. They looked much better, although the one with the new teeth didn't know how to smile :D , which is really sad. I was flipping between Swan and some sad sad movie on lifetime with Della Reese. I bought the Southbeach book at lunch and I am gonna try it. Will keep you posted as to results. gotta run, have a great afternoon. |
Need to fit in!!
 Hi everyone! I'm looking for a thread that I fit in with. This one that I am in is ok, but they kinda critisize you alot and they all garden and hike outside. They are ok, but sometimes I feel like I'm not welcome, so I need to be somewhere else!!
HI HEATHER!!! So what I gotta do to be a "April Chick" I'm a little shy, but I'll tell ya a little about myself. I'm married with two kids, I'm 25, we move around A LOT! I'm originally from TX, we are now in SC. Not that much hotter than Tx....yet!! My weight struggles started when I had my son, I was 150 or so, I was only 18 and had been small all of my life. (I'm only 5'0) So I lost all of my weight and got down to 127 by exercising my butt off and hardly not eating as much. But slowly but surely I gained it back and then some, I got up to 160 or so and then whoops I got pregnant again. It was a diffucult, difficult pregnancy, I was up to 214 when I had my daughter. When I had my 6 wk check up I was 200 lbs. Not a pretty site on such a short lady!! So I got on the treadmill once a day and got back down to 160. Low and Behold, we moved to KY, although I immediately joined a gym and workout out 4 x's a week or more, I gained 25 lbs back in a couple of mths. By the time we moved to SC in January I was 185. So here I am, trying again to get past the weight that I keep losing over and over. It really gets harder every time!!! So far I have lost 27 lbs. :cp: I exercise twice a day and count calories. I know Heather (scorchin) :flame: so when I saw her name I thought this had to be a kool place to be! This place has been my support system, especially in the journals because I had given up completely!! I would have gained all the weight back by now if it werent for 3FC, so I hope to meet you chicks soon! |
Welcome Jamiedol, This site is wonderful. I too have been a part of other threads that just don't do it for me as much as this one does, these ladies are GREAT!
So, are you a military wife? I couldn't help but notice that all the states you've moved around too have military bases. I am Lisa, mother of 3 ( 2 girls 10 and 8, and 1 boy, 13 mos.) We have recently relocated from Southern California to Iowa, after my husband got his honorable discharge from the Marine Corps. I am struggling to lose the weight I gained during my last pregnancy, plus a few pounds that I had put on the year before I got pregnant. I'm pretty much on my own with my efforts here in "real life" becuase I haven't met too many people here in the midwest that seem to give a crap about their health, let alone how they look....( I'm sure they're out there, just haven't found many yet.) The move has been an extremely stressful one, actually, the last year and a half has been really bad stress-wise, so the weight has been up and down for months. This site has really helped me get motivated! My interests are basically all the homemaking skills, I love to cook, bake, decorate, paint, sew, etc. And I LOVE being outside! Hopefully you'll find you have things in common with the gals here too, and enjoy it as much as I do. Som here's my fun for the day! We spent the morning at the hospital, getting a cast put on the baby's right wrist. He fell down playing at Grandma's house last night, and just was screaming bloody murder, which he doesn't ever do. We called the Dr. but there was a tornado warning in effect, so she didn't want us out on the road for something as small as a possible fracture or sprain, so we waited till this morning. He wasn't putting any weight on it this am, so we went in, and voila! he's got a compression fracture, and he'll be casted for three weeks. I guess this is my official welcome into the world of mothering boys! Lunch was McD's on the run, but I opted for a side salad to hold me over till we got home. I feel so much better about that than if I had eaten a cheeseburger. Yeah for me! LOL. ( Actually, it was hubby's suggestion, I think he gets it that I'm serious...after I explained to him that this is not just vanity, that the Dr. Told me last year to get this weight off.) anyways, that's all for the day, have a great one gals! Lisa |
Welcome Jaymi-dol, my name is Jamie....at least they are spelled different...:) I am sure you will find this thread very supportive and not critical in any way, at least I havent ever heard anybody be critical since we started last month. Good job on your weight loss so far.
Lisa, sorry to hear about your little guy, but kids are resilient, so I am sure he will be fine. Good job on the side salad at mcd's, isn't it hard to pick the good stuff when the bad stuff is staring you in the face..... it is for me but i ahave been really good so far, I guess I am wanting to lose this weight bad enough to say no to junk food!!! TTFN, Jamie |
hi ya jaymi
 my name is peg i have 3 children (two still at home) i am married and will soon be 45. i am doing this because of health reasons. i have High blood presure and authurits*spell....... and diabetes runs in my family. my :eating2: plan has been to eat only when i am trully hungry and then eating healthy (1200 to 1500 cal) So far it is working for me. when it quits working then i will get real serious about :tread: exercise. i was eating when it was time ( buzzer goes off at work...eat or hubby wants lunch and i would eat too ...even tho i wasnt really hungry yet) so now it is working better this way. another thing i have done is changing what i order when we go out to eat. They sure look at you funny when you say i want the grilled chicken sandwich with out any thing on it not even the bun  . anyway welcome and im sure you will find out that we are a great bunch of chickadees :joker: oops i guess it would be a flock of chickadees.
Talk to you LIGHTER!!! Peg PS. i also joined T.O.P.S. (take off pounds sensibly) weight loss support group |

Hiya chickies! I hope everyone is back on track after their TOM... I was bad on Saturday and Monday, but I was really good Sunday and yesterday, I only had about 1100 calories yesterday so I am doing okay. I have that wedding to go to the end of July so I am really trying to get on the ball and be really good so I can look halfway decent for the wedding...I don't want to be the fattest person there!
Hope everyone is doing well, and taking it one day at a time...that's what I have to do, because it is so overwhelming to think about ALL the weight I have to lose... Oh well, like I said, one day at a time! Good luck everyone! Tara |
Someone scold me
I have a confession....I went to lunch with friends just now and had desert. :eating2: I not only feel sick but I also feel guilty. Someone scold me and tell me how I have no self control. I will have to stay on the elliptical machine for 5 hours tonight. :tread:
I was doing pretty good before today, haven't had sweets in a few weeks. Perhaps the guilt that I feel right now will prevent me from doing this again. I wasn't even hungry when I ate the cake, I just shoveled it in my mouth and I ate it all, too. No "one bite" for me, I devoured it like a big fat pig would do. :ink: I need to be punished. I've let myself down. Feeling sad in Alabama :( |
I'm Addicted to being Full
Afternoon Ladies!
To Lisa (FavePair) – I was reading back on the posts and I saw you mention “Chickydoodle” and I started smiling and giggling and my stepdaughter, who was sitting on the computer next to me (she’s off track), asks what is wrong with me. When I pointed out Chickydoodle to her she smiled. That’s the name I call her all the time. Heheheh… I used to call her Baby Bear and she would call me Mama Bear, but she says she’s told old for that name now and so we decided on Chickydoodle. Grin… sorry I just had to share that story with you heheh… Nancy Drew – I have a degree in computer graphics, but when I was laid off I decided to go back to school to become a teacher so I could teach computers. Right now I’m at Cal State Univ. I dunno if they have me marked as a junior or senior but I’m about a year and half away from graduating. That’s assuming I can get all my courses every time. HELLO JAYMI!! WELCOME! To all my lady friends who feel they have no control… I just wanted to let you guys know that I to have no control. It’s hard, it really is…and I loose control often. You are not alone. I have to keep myself busy… and it really sucks when the kid and James eat all this stuff in front of me… makes me wanna drop them off a cliff sometimes :p This is what I find myself doing. I’ll try to eat as little as possible during the day. I’ll have like a cup of milk and a cup of cereal, and then around 4 hours I’ll grab a banana or something else to snack on… So during the day I try to keep everything under 600-700 calories…. Then since I’m on a 1600-1800 I can eat the rest at dinner…. But I do the zig zag so I vary it between 1400 and 2000 on certain days. Course I don’t know if this is a good approach, but this is what I do. However, I was always told not to go more then 5 hours without food… so I try to eat something small at least every 4 to 5 hours. Whether it be a granola bar or a piece of fruit. I find that I can extend a granola bar for an hour hehehe… it keeps my stomach thinking I am eating. I am addicted to be full. I have to eat til I feel full…and that’s why I figured if I could eat a small portion of my calories through out the whole day, I can eat at dinner and get that full feeling. But I also drink a boat load of water to help with that full feeling as well. It seems to work to… I can eat about 1000 calories for dinner and feel satisfied. Of course eventually I need to work on becoming “unaddicted” to being full tho… I don’t have much control, and its been really hard…like I said, I keep myelf busy with work and school… This summer is going ot be a HUGE test for me since I won’t be working or going to school for summer break. You aren't alone... Catch you ladies later... Sue... |
Hi Chickies!! I could have sworn I left you a post telling you how busy I was today and that I'm going out of town, but I guess it didnt go through!!! Well I've been on my feet all day and still got work to do. I've eaten right, and I"ve did my Denise Austin today for an hour. I didnt get to do the treadmill, but I think all this work is more than 3 miles...should have worn my Mcdonald walking thingy, but I know I've been busy!! I'll try to comment right fast and I will talk to you all Friday when I get to TX, looking forward to meeting everyone and getting to know you all!!
Sue Marie- Nancy Drew- eatnothingalive- scorchin- bearzy2u- hippiechic- favepairobluejeans- Sorry about the baby, hope he's doing better! I'm not an army wife...anymore!!! He is in the inactive reserves right now, but we move because he works constuction. I am soo glad he got out though, because about 2 mths or so after he got out, his unit was called to iraq. I'd be here all alone or in Tx going insane!!! I dont really have any hobbies anymore. The ones I used to have, I've grown out of, I"ve been taking care of my family, especially the baby and that's it. I need to find some but this website is about all I have time for. I exercise twice daily, which is the only other time I get to myself when my daughter finally falls asleep, and that's it. I like to watch weird tv shows like Matlock, Murdershewrote, and Golden Girls, and Hercules!! Ok, so they dont match, but they are my favorites. I like Law and Order too, and that's it. Never seen friends or anything...I'm like a big dork!!! And the only movies I watch are bootleg movies that occasionally have a person get up and walk out in it!!! Well, I'll try to figure out something...I need a life!!!!!! I like the beach and stuff and me and hubby just tried out some tennis, and we also went bowling, so I'd say I enjoy thouse things, even though I'm not good at any of them, and I dont even own a swimsuit. But oh well, I gotta get off my big butt and finish. I'll talk with you all later!!! Jay |
Hi everyone,
It's been a busy few days for me...School doesn't start 'til next Wednesday, and I've been working a lot. I guess misery really does love company, because I too have overindulged myself for the last couple of days. Not really over my limit in calories, but my choices weren't so good, ya know? Regardless, I have dropped 2 lbs since last week's weigh-in. Wooo--hoooo!! It's good to hear that everyone else is surviving their own personal hurdles. Good job!!! Tara, my mom is getting remarried on July 24th, so I'm putting my nose to the grindstone until then too. It's so nice when you go to a public event feeling like a different person, like you've never looked better, and there's no one that can pull you down. I'm using that feeling as motivation not to cheat! It's so hard... Anyway, better get some beauty sleep...Happy Losing!! Never give up!! Stacia |
LOL to Sue....I call my daughter that sometimes too! But mostly I call her chickenbean....we have NO idea where that came from....it was just one of those things that rolled off my lips one day, and stuck!
Everybody have a great day! The weather is beautiful here, I just sewed myself a couple of skirts...didn't have a pattern, one turned out WAY too big ( had to take about 8 inches off, the other one will look great about 5 lbs from now. Its time to feed the baby, and get outside, its too pretty to waste, especially knowing the weekend it supposed to be stormy again. Stay on plan everybody, and enjoy! Lisa |
ladies............where are you all? I looked to see if another thread was started, but I didn't see one.....nobody's posted since noon today...I sure hope you're all ok.

Hey girls, came to say hello, hope everyone is doing good. Everyone must be very busy cuz the thread has been very slow lately and there quite a few people missing. I hope everyone is staying on track and living one day at a time, remember to come here if you are down and need some support. talk to you all soon, Jamie

Morning Ladies!
Wooo! It’s been a busy past few days. I was up late finish up my paper and other stuff Wednesday night and I had work and school on Thursday from 8am – 8pm so I pretty much passed out when I got home. James cooked dinner and that was it hehehe. I’ve been staying on track and have been doing really well. We have my stepdaughter this weekend so we were planning on going to the beach, however the weather looks really bad :( I am praying for some sun tomorrow cause we really need a get away. Been cooped up in the house doing homework blah. I’m still trying to plan our family vacation for June sometime, but everything seems to be up in the air right now. I wouldn’t mind going back up to Pismo Beach tho hehehe. Tara – I took my first set of pics back in um… I think April…oh dang, I just checked, I took them back in December 03. I didn’t start getting serious til hmm February 04 and I’ve only lost 20 lbs since. I’ve been wondering where am I loosing this weight from? I also wonder when will I start to see a difference. I know I will, I just impatient hhehehe. Maybe I should take another picture just to see if I notice anything. What I should do is now that I am doing some weight lift toning and aerobic work outs I should use a tape measure and take measurements. I know the last time I lifted weights, I lost inches but I gained weight cause of muscle mass lol. I am sure your pics will come out well. Is there a particular place that we post them at? If so, maybe I’ll post mine. You ladies take care! Sue… |

woohooo, way to go Tara! And congrats to Sue on getting your paper finished. I used to live in San Bernardino County, at29Palms...I kind of miss the hot weather. The beach sounds so great, I miss it so much. When I was a kid, we lived about a mile from the Ocean, we spent more time on the beach than we did in our yard. Of course now I'm getting wrinkles at an early age to show for it! LOL Oh well, it was fun in the sun, and I would still be there if I could. Today started out as a GREAT day! Hubby wanted Crescent rolls for breakfast, but I only ate one...then had big glass of water, a diet pepsi, and later a fruit and yogurt parfaitfrom McD's for lunch ( the small one) . When we got home, I had alot more water, knowing that I would be having pizza for dinner tonight. Well........Hubby went camping with the boys he teaches at church, and his uncle went with him, so his wife, and kdis came over to my house to spend the evening. I was teaching her a little about how to decorate a cake, and eating at the same time, and talking about stuff that stresses me a little, and hubby was gone, and I for some reason was jumpy, and thought I heard gunshot twice ( didn't, btu thought I did) and I ATE 5 PIECES of PIZZA!!!! yikes!!!!! I'm not even full either, that's the scary part. I think I ate each peice with enough time in between, that I never got really too full, and knew to stop. It was so GOOD, but wow, so out of line! I suppose its really been a kind of off-plan week. The grocery budget was really tight this month, so I've been making alot from scratch, with whateer is in the house, and not getting enough of the good stuff. I had hubby hide the scale from me, so I have no idea how my wieghts been effected...I will find out tomorrow. :( I need some inspiration!
Talk to you gals tomorrow! Lisa |
Hi everyone!!
Just poppin in to tell you that i"m still alive!!! We have survived the first day here in TX...barely!! I got all of 2 hrs sleep, and tomorrow is a whole new day. My little sister graduates in the morning, I need to have my hair done at 8:00 am, so i need to wake up at maybe 6 to exercise and shower/wash my hair and try to dry it. I havent exercised in two days!!! I'm sooo ashamed. It is the first time this has happened since the entire month. I bet I'll gain weight too even though I've stayed on my eating plan. The first day I didnt have a choice, we were in the car for over 16 hours, today I got up with intentions of working out, but had sooo much to do, I could never get around to it. I barely got a shower in, had to sneak it!! LOL Well, gotta go back to hubby's grandmother's house so I will try to pop in tomorrow if I get a chance. Everyone take care!!!! Jay :) |
:) All is well Going to be scarce this weekend got a few things i gotta do as well as twooo papers and then a portfolio.
Tara - I understand... I don't know if I want to post anything just yet... maybe if I can see a difference I might... but not now for sure. Hope everyone has a Great Memorial Day Weekend! Sue... |

I'M BAAAAAAAAACK!!!!!!
Man o man...what a week (10 Days). I hope none of you have to go that long without a chick fix. I missed you sooo bad. The pc guy had to refrag EVERYTHING, then reinstall my windows program, then I brought it home yesterday and had to reinstall all my drivers and stuff. I'm SOOO blue without you (sorry, I was showing dh how the colors work on here,he just stuck his nose in to see if I was happy)gone now. So I have something I want to say to all of you....I am so proud of all of us and so happy we started this. I came back and everyone has hung in there and continued,we're finding our plans that work for us and we are learning(lol) to not be slaves to the scale. Please everyone, if you start to feel down or you're not losing what you feel you should be...go back to some of your original posts. You will all see how much you have already changed...your expectations, your attitude and your connections, to yourself and others. Please remember too, its a fact that those who take off weight slowly @ 1-2 lbs a week and steadily have the most success at keeping it off. And most of all...we are human and therofore NOT perfect, the closest we can come to that is to learn from our boo boo's. If you are interested incorporating more omega 3's into your plan, flaxseed meal is a great source. I use it when I bake...subbing 1/4 of the total amount of flour. Also I use Splenda (sucralose) at 24 calories per cup vs. 770 calories per cup of sugar in everything I bake. AANNNND....if a baked goods recipe calls for oil I use unsweetened applesauce instead. I made Larry a cake to take with him last week (devilsfood mix) and did this and he said it was great...very moist. Well I'm happy to see new people here, you don't have to do anything special to be an April Chick, just be the best yourself you can be. And if you're having any problems doing that, thats when we're here for you the most. :D Thanks everyone. Diane |
goooooo me!!
hi all,
i am very proud to say that i got off the 200 marker on thursday !! Weighed in at 199 1/4! now i am going to work extra hard to not ever have to use it again. i cant remember the last time i weighed under 200. WOW it is such a great feeling. it is starting to show too. i have people i work with come up to me and ask if i am losing and i got a shirt out that i quit wearing because it was snug around the tummy and now it is actually loose. my goal is 166 and i am shooting for oct 16 which is my hubbys birthday. i trully beleve that i will be able to do this. this group of wonderful people sure is great and to be able to share our triumphs and downfalls with people who undestand 110% is just so helpfull. god bless you all!! Talk to you LIGHTER!!! Peg |
