Well...
I saw my doctor yesterday (Thursday) and I finally broke down. I wrote her a letter because that's just how I communicate when is comes to serious things. I also did it cuz I wouldn't be able to get through the first sentence without crying. After "confessing" the thoughts that were running through my head, she was quite concerned. With her being concerned, it made me feel like someone actually cared and was willing to listen to me and help me. So, I'm now under the care of her as far as the weight issue goes. She has recommended a diet for me, along with exercise, and I see her again in three weeks. It kinda felt like a weight had been lifted off of my shoulders.
Anywho, since the last time I posted here, I have been doing well as far as my eating goes. I did cheat once...about 30 minutes ago. Bleh, I'm disappointed with myself!! My walking has been haulted since Wednesday because of the lovely dump of snow we received; 17cm in 24 hours.... It doesn't seem like a lot but it is considering we were having awesome temps. The day before it snowed, it was 22C! There's something seriously wrong with that! Anyways, I'm hoping to get back to it by Sunday. Lilmissme |
Good for you!
You made a positive step toward achieving your goals! Even if you make two forward and one back, that equals one forward, right? Just keep positive, keep moving...if you can't go for a walk, do something inside, just moving will make you feel so much better physically and emotionally. And, it will help compensate for those "oops" moments when the chocolate jumps in our mouths! ;)
Don't feel down, keep moving forward. Like the Barenaked Ladies say "nothing worth having comes without some kind of price, you gotta kick at the darkness 'til it bleeds daylight." Just keep kicking! You CAN do it! BTW, I am in a small support group in the Exercise thread..."it doesn't matter what you do...just Move!" (or something like that :dizzy: ) We just talk about what we have eaten that day, what we have done to get our blood moving...you are more than welcome to come join in. |
Lilmissme, Hi  ....
I see that you've posted here at 3FC about 5 times, as MojoJodie said find a group of gals on here that have the same interests as you and visit them daily, I hang around at the Ladies (andGents) Who Lift forum, because my thing is to weight train...So, along with your Doctor's advise on nutrition and exercise you can't miss... Writting to your Doctor was a great idea! Now keep writting, keep a journal on your feelings, your accomplishments, your weight, your measurements, what makes you eat, how you feel when you eat the wrong foods... etc... you know what I mean I'm sure... Take care, and ya'll come back now ya hear? I'm in Eastern Ontario where are you? |
Thank ya muchly MoJoJodie and Lanaii1. It's going to be a long hard battle, no doubt about it, but I can do it. I want to do it. And I definately don't want to let myself or my doctor down. I am officially starting the recommended diet tomorrow. Ho hum, we'll see how it goes!
By the way Lanaii, I am from Western Canada; not far from the beautiful Canadian Rockies in Alberta! Lilmissme |
Lilmissme -- Try not to look at it as a "die"t.... It's really a lifestyle change that will make you feel 100% better in the long run...
