Welcome to a thread full of laughter, encouragment and friendship as we raise families, regain health and lose weight together. All are welcome- newcomers and present friends

Good morning all.
Its cold and foggy here today, so tired of the gloomy days already. Its not so bad if its sunny and cold, at least you can pretend its warm when you look outside.
Hope everyone is having a good day. Keep up the good work.
Ricci

figgytwinsplustwo 10-01-2003 11:21 AM

Hi everyone!

Got room for someone new?

My name is Julie. I am a 30 year old mother of 4. I have a 6 year old daughter, 3 year old identical twin boys, and a 2 year old boy.

I have pretty much always been overweight. I have gotten to a point in my life where not only am I disgusted by what I see in the mirror, but the extra weight also keeps me from having the energy I need to keep up with my children.

I started trying to make a lifestyle change (cause we all know if you don't change how you eat, you won't keep off what you lose) a few months ago. Did pretty well for a couple of months (lost 14 lbs!), then hit a wall so to speak (but I have at least managed to maintain the weight loss and not gain any of it back). I was in a really bad car wreck a couple of years ago and I still have problems due to the injuries I sustained, so I have had a really hard time staying motivated to exercise because it's really hard to do that when you feel like utter crap (my chest/neck/shoulder areas have problems... ribs and joints are out of whack which in turn causes my muscles to spasm and hurt.. exercise is supposed to help, but is hard to do when you hurt!)

Anyway, the 3 goals I set for myself were as follows:

1)Drink water!
2)Exercise!
3)Don't eat after 7pm!

Before I started, I pretty much drank NO water at all. Now, I am up to 2-3 bottles a day. I know I need to drink more, but that in itself is a major accomplishment for someone who cannot stand the way water tastes. I do pretty well on number 3 also, every once in awhile I will have some popcorn or some other small snack but not very often. I also have cut back on how much I eat at a time. Number 2 is the one I have the most problems with. I have a work out tape that is for full figured women, a tabe for abs that is a 10 min workout, and a treadmill. My plan is to do the full work out tape one day and the next day do the 10 min tape and walk on the treadmill. Problem has been putting that plan into action. My biggest problem with the workout tapes is that I cannot do all the exercises. Any of the floor ones that require sit up type exercises or the ones where you have to be on your knees I cannot do due to injuries from the wreck. I really need an alternative to those exercises because my butt, stomach, hips and abs need some major help, LOL! (I am sure you can imagine how much help my stomach would need after giving birth to 4 kids.... 2 of them at the same time!!)

I have seen some people mention the Walk Away the Pounds tapes. Do these tapes do anything to help those problem areas??

Ok, I have probably bored you all to tears by now. I look forward to getting know all of you and hope that in finding some ladies who are having the same struggles, I can find the strength and motivation to get moving and get some more weight off!

KarenW 10-01-2003 12:58 PM

JULIE - WELCOME! I am karen SAHM of 2 ages 7 and 5 (boy and girl respectively) I am 36 and have been married for 13 years. spryng 10-01-2003 01:57 PM

Good afternoon all!
My computer is dead i think. I'm posting on my DH's computer. I got that virus last month (the worm) and now my computer will come on but won't load internet explorer ormy email. Ugh. I don't know what to do. I've tried everything. I guess I have to post from here until DH gets home and can fix it. Maybe he'll be home sunday. I hope anyway.
Welcome Julie!! I'm Spryng, sahm of 3. Ava who is 3, joseph (aka bubba) who is 2 and Tanner who is 3 months old. I'm currently on weight watchers and loving every minute of it! :)
Karen, great results! That one lb gained in muscle is really going to help you burn more cals and lose better! I wish I knew whether or not I was gaining any muscle. I know I must be because I feel so strong lately and even hauled a swivel rocker out of my bedroom last night into the living room by myself! It didn't even make me sore. And thanks for the info on that treadmill. I am definitely going to get me one soon. :)
Ginny, how are you?? The dvd's I bought are The Firm body sculpting series. It's 3 dvds. One is cardio sculpt that has aerobics and weights combined (55 min and very intense) the nest is total body sculpt (45 min and I am doing this one regularly, it has 20 min lower body and 20 min upper body plus warm up and cool down) and then Ab sculpt, (it's 25 min and very intense, lots of crunches, reversed crunches, etc) I did the ab sculpt last night for the first time and it felt really good. My abs need all the help they can get. But tonight it will be the body sculpt. It has weights too.
Well I guess I need to get off here and figure out how to check my email on this computer. I hope I can. TTYL!

spryng 10-01-2003 01:59 PM

Oh just wanted to let you know that I bought a chocolate cake mix today and plan to try that diet coke cake! I'll let you know how it turns out! :) Bye!

jelynn 10-01-2003 03:40 PM

I was wondering if you had tried that cake yet Spryng! I told the boys that if they were good this afternoon we could make a cale- maybe I'll just be braave and try it out. So do you have the FAnny lifter with your Firm workouts? They sure look like good work outs- I have been wanting them for years. Maybe that will be a reward for myself when I work up to that point.

Karen- great results!! :cp: You are doing awesome you big LOSER :D

Welcome Julie!! I'm Emily, mom to 3 boys 5,3 (soon!) and 5 months. Our stats are very similar- how tall are you? I'm 5'7. Stick around and we can support each other in this endeavor!! I'm so sorry you are living with chronic pain! I think the WATP videos would be great for you- I'm not sure about the ab ones (Jen will know!) but the ones I have use 2 lb weights and you are doing knee- lifts and kick-backs- all very good for those problem spots, but in a low/non impact way. Maybe see if a video store or library has them first to check them out!

I knew I should have made notes from the other thread...I remember Jen had a great night's sleep last night (I'm jealous!!)...

My girls' dinner was a blast and I know I ate a little too much, but it also could have been a lot worse...I did keep my portions small, but there was just so much of everything to try! ;) WE had 2 kinds of stew, cabbage rolls, homemade perogies, spinach salad and white cake w/pudding and raspberries for dessert- not to mention my spinach-crab dip. One thing I was proud of myself for was sticking with water when everyone else was drinking Martinellis- I had a very small amount because I really like it, but knew I didn't want my calories coming from juice when there was such yummy food to enjoy!
I've already done my 2-mile WATP and am going to go on another walk this evening. A new day is a fresh start!

Hope you are all having a great OP day!! ttfn

figgytwinsplustwo 10-01-2003 03:43 PM

I'm 5'3". Once I reach my goal weight, I may adjust it. Even though I am short, for some reason, I carry my weight well and don't look as big as I am. When I make it to 140, then I will decide if I want to come down any further.

spryng 10-01-2003 04:27 PM

Emily I don't have the Fanny Lifter... but I will be buying it soon. I bought a regular 10 in step stool and I have a 4 in book I put on it to achieve the 14 in. And yes it is a good workout. Going up and down on that thing really gets your heart rate up and you can feel the burn in your "fanny" (lol) and thighs. So I know by really shaping all the muscles in my body, once I lose the weight I'll have nice toned areas.
Well I'm off to bake that cake. TTYL!

gemini 10-01-2003 05:29 PM

Spryng, let us know how that cake turns out! I actually have a chocolate cake mix in my pantry, and some diet vanilla coke, which I think would work well. Using the point slider, I figured the cake would be 3 points/slice, without topping. Hope you get your computer starightened out.... at least you have dh's until then.

Karen, a big woooo hooooo to you!!!!! :D

Welcome Julie!!!! Boy, you sure sound like you have your hands full!!! Just like the rest of us! :D I am Jen, mother of 3, ages 8, 6, and almost 3. I'm sorry to hear about your car accident and residual problems. The WATP tapes may be just the thing for you. They are very low-impact, and if you have back troubles, you could omit the hand weights and just do the motions without them, if the weight is too much. I am loving the WATP for Abs tapes, but I don't know how they'd be for you. Aerobically, they are a greater intensity, so you'd have to work up to them. But also, I don't know how that belt around your waist and the resistance bands would be on your back and shoulders. But, welcome to the thread, and stick around.... we have a good group here. :)

Emily, sounds like your night out was a success!!! I love great food (don't we all) and it sounds like it was worth a little indulging. Way to go on getting your work-out in. :)

Well, dinner's in the oven, so I gotta run.... I am ravenous!! Have a great night, girls!

spryng 10-01-2003 05:41 PM

Jen what are you having for dinner? I have the cheesy chicken casserole baking in the oven right now... the one Ginny posted a while back. I'm ravenous too :) And the cake is cooling on the counter. It looks just fine... I think it will taste just fine too but I won't know until after dinner, and mine is 3 pts per serving also. I think I am going to shop around and see if I can find one that is less pts per serving.
Well, gotta get Tanner up from his nap. He's been out 4 hours!!! I got a good 2 hour nap in myself :) TTYL!

Those days are long gone here, lol. Actually, my two year old still takes a good 2-3 hour nap, but the twins don't. They still go in their room for an hour or so of quiet time (yeah right, lol), but rarely go to sleep anymore. Quiet time will probably end soon (if I can ever get dh to get off his butt and help me fix the wallpaper in their room!). They kept tearing the border off their walls (and some of the wallpaper!) so we haven't replaced it yet (which makes their room look icky!). Once we do, naptime for them will be no more since that is primarily when all the tearing was done.

We are having chicken and rice tonight. I still have almost 900 calories left for the day, so I should be ok for intake today.

spryng 10-01-2003 06:31 PM

Just popping on here for a second.
Question for Ginny- that chicken casserole says it serves 8... is that 8 1 cup servings??
Julie, I know what you mean about "quiet" time. My two older kids go down for a two hour nap but unless they are sick they don't nap anymore also. They use to be really bad about emptying out their dresser drawers or tearing pages out of books... but now they actually play quietly in there. I guess they grew out of it. My dd, when she was potty training used to be so bad about painting her walls with her poop during nap time!! Boy I used to hate going in there to get her... thankfully she didn't do that very many times and my ds who just completed potty trainging has never tried it. (Thank God!) But that is something I have written in her baby book so I can embarass her with when she's older! lol.
Ok I need to get off here and finish up dinner. I just had that question about servings. TTYL!

mel17 10-01-2003 06:59 PM

Hi there~!

Sorry I didn't make it back yesterday, but Myra is not feeling very good again. Anyway, I have to post and run, I lost 3.4 lbs. at my weigh in last night, so I'll up have to post my stats!

Take care all!!!

jelynn 10-01-2003 07:02 PM

Tanner must be growing today Spryng!! Ian is usually the best napper! 2 hr in the morning 3 in the afternoon and a short one after dinner. Today he only had 2 1 hr. I didn't get as much done that's for sure! I think he's working on his first tooth.

I made the cake and let my 5 yo try it- of course he loved it. Seems like the same texture, maybe just a bit stickier. Jen, I think the diet vanilla coke would be yummy! I just drank a 20 oz bottle- didn't even think about that for the cake! We are having porkchops and acorn sqaush and a big salad for me. We are going away for the weekend and I know some eating out will be involved...making good choices until then!!

Well, DH should be home soon I hope- had to work late. Have a good night!

jelynn 10-01-2003 07:04 PM

Melissa!! :cp: Great Job!!!

KarenW 10-01-2003 07:06 PM

WOO HOO MEL! Great job !!! :)

I hope Myra feel sbetter soon!!

gemini 10-01-2003 07:48 PM

Mel, good for you!!!! :D

Emily, thanks for reporting in on the cake...... I think I'll make it this Sunday! I bet a bit of warm chocolate syrup (1 point) over it would be delish!!!! :)

Spryng, I made chicken meatloaf (5 pts) and mashed potatos (3pts) and steamed broccoli (no points)....... it was delish!!!! I have 2 points saved for a Smart Ones sundae cup, after I get the kids in bed. :D

Gotta get kid #2 out of the tub, and kid #3 in.... g'nite gang....... :)

jelynn 10-01-2003 09:06 PM

Ginny!!! No need to apologize and brag all you want! :bravo: You have definitely earned bragging rights and have worked hard on your loss! Great job on the 12's soon to be 10's!! Whoo-hoo! :cp:

Jen- what was in your meatloaf?? Was it just ground chicken?

DH is out bike riding with the boys and I'm "cleaning" :smug:- GOIng for a walk when they get back.

c/y'all tomorrow!

spryng 10-02-2003 08:52 AM

Congrats on your first WI Mel! That is so great!! You are now back on the road to health again. Feel nice huh?
Sorry I didn't get back on last night either. My internet company was having problems and I couldn't use the internet until they were done fixing it. Well it turned out to be a good thing because I ended up going to bed early which I needed. :)
But I wanted to let you all know how that cake came out! It was very very good. Very moist... almost too moist but not. I enjoyed every bite.
Well today I have nothing planned but cleaning the house. I'm just going to stay home today and get a few things done here. Dh might be coming home on sunday for the day so I need to get this house in shape. (not that it is really out of shape)
ok, I'm off here. TTYL!

gemini 10-02-2003 09:48 AM

Ginny, I got the WATP with Abs at BJ's. If you can't find them, I would be happy to pick them up for you and send them.... just let me know. You can email me at [email protected] if you want pricing info, etc. Hope your dm's surgery goes ok today. And congrats on those jeans! But, I think you should return them and get the size 10's!!!!! :D

Emily, yes, I used ground chicken for the meatloaf. I will post the recipe below. My kids LOVE my regular meatloaf, so I was afraid how they would react to this, but they loved this, too! DD ate it all, even though she wasn't feeling well, and ds asked for seconds. :)

Spryng, good luck with your housework..... it feels like it's never-ending, huh? I must do the same today, after some morning errands.

So, I have to report on something I'm very happy about. DH told me last night that he is very serious about wanting to lose weight! I have been so worried about him. He is 5'10" and is up to 260lbs. He is a big build (ex-football player/wrestler) so he looks fine around 220-230lbs. It is not his weight that I am so worried about, but his lack of activity. He is so sedentary, just walking up the stairs has him huffing and puffing. I know his cholesterol was up a bit at his physical last year (about 215), so I worry that he is just a ticking timebomb, and he is approaching 40, as well. Well, he is really noticing my results, and I was talking to him about the WW points and stuff. I told him I would look up what his daily points target would be, and we could figure out some healthy meals for him. Lunchtime is his hardest time, as he tends to frequent the sub shop next to where he works. He really does not eat much of a breakfast, and his dinners are good because he eats what I eat, because I refuse to cook 5 different meals! :D So, if I can get him eating better at lunchtime and get him to cut out all the sugar/cream in his coffee and the soda he drinks all day, I know he will drop some pounds. He needs to get active, too, but that will be tougher for him. I wish he would get up a bit early in the morn and take one of the dogs for a walk, but that is a fate worse than death, to him. Oh well, we will start with the diet, I guess.

OK, I gotta run. I have a semi-sick dd home from school today. She has had a headache for a couple of days, and a cough, and was up at 2am with a fever. But she is not horribly ill, and I think will be fine to run to the bank/store today. She wanted to go to school, but I wanted her to just take the day and relax. So, I am off...... have a great day, gang! :)

gemini 10-02-2003 09:57 AM

Chicken Meatloaf (serves 6; 5 points/serving)

Ingredients:

1lb ground chicken
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 garlic clove, minced
1/3 cup seasoned breadcrumbs
1/4 cup fresh grated parmesan cheese
1/4 cup egg substitute (i.e. Egg Beaters)
1/4 cup ketchup, divided in two parts

Directions:

Mix all ingredients, except half ketchup, and form into the shape of a loaf. Bake in loaf pan, sprayed with cooking spray and covered with foil, at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Remove foil and increase oven temp to 400. Spread remaining ketchup on top of loaf and cook 10 minutes more. Remove from oven and let stand 10 minutes before serving.

I sliced this into six 1.5 inch slices..... they were very good sized portions! We even had one slice leftover for a sandwich today. :)

spryng 10-02-2003 10:33 AM

Jen, that meatloaf sounds great! Do you know the pts per serving for it? I'm definitely going to try it soon. I do my big grocery shopping tomorrow and I will get the ingrediants. And that is so great about your DH wanting to do something about his weight. I wish mine did. He's 5'11" and is 290 lbs, quickly approaching 300. I'm worried for him because he is driving a truck all day and eating and I am afraid that his weight will balloon up now. He's done atkins with me before and quit after 5 days (he lost 10 lbs in those 5 days!!) he just loves his food and won't give anything up or make changes. But he has noticed my loss and such and thinks WW is a great program. Who knows... maybe he'll join me too someday. :)
Well today is a leftover day for me. I have leftover turkey roast with poatoes and gravy, leftover chicken spaghetti, and lots of veggies to get out of my fridge before I go shopping tomorrow. So that is what I will be eating today, leftovers. What does everyone else have planned? I also didn't get my workout in last night because my neck really started bothering me after the kids went to bed. It feels better today... I think I might have pulled a muscle in it when I did my abs workout. So tonight I definitely have to get a workout in. WI is fast approaching and I want to know I did my best this week.
Oh, Ginny did you post your WI yesterday? (braindead here) I can't remember. What was the meeting about?
OK, well I am off here. I'll pop back in later though!

gemini 10-02-2003 04:08 PM

Spryng, as I posted with the recipe ;) the chicken meatloaf is 5 points/serving. Really, it is a large serving. I had a leftover slice on light bread for a 6 point lunch today. :) Sounds like you have some good plans for dinner. We are not having anything elaborate tonight, as I have to work. The kids will just have hot dogs. And I have some chicken sausage thawing for dh and I. I have 13 points to play with between now and midnight. :)

Well, off to do some ironing. Tomorrow is school picture day, and since I'm working tonight, I have to have everything laid out and ready for the kids in the morning. I don't usually get home until about 20 minutes before the bus comes. I really need to lie down for a nap as soon as dh gets home tonight...... I have a bit of a headache and am feeling pretty sluggish.

G'nite everyone............

spryng 10-02-2003 04:37 PM

I'm sorry Jen! I didn't see that you posted the pts. I guess I'm feeling slugish today too. I still haven't got anything done around here yet. Just got up from my nap. :) I hope your headache goes away and you feel more like yourself. TTYL!

gemini 10-02-2003 09:43 PM

Spryng, you know I was teasing you, right? ;) Hope you're feeling better. I'm off to work....... :)

spryng 10-02-2003 11:56 PM

Good evening all!
Jen, did our headache get better?
Where is everyone tonight? Kinda quiet around here. My day went well. It got better as it went on. I stayed right on target and even earned two activity points by completing my ENTIRE body sculpt workout. 45 minutes of hard work! But I feel so good about it. That was the first time I've done the whole thing together.
Well I'm cooled down now after my shower and need to get in bed. We are suppose to have bad thunderstorms tonight after 1 am and i have a feeling I'll have two extra bodies in my bed when it hits :) so I need to get what sleep I can right now. Talk to you all tomorrow!! G'nite!

KarenW 10-03-2003 01:51 PM

Hi All!

I am having a stressful day. My van is in the shop having the transmission looked at. Sigh. It is a 1997 Caravan with about 100,000 miles on it. I was hoping to get another 2 years or so out of it so that we could get my Hubby's car paid off. I just dont want 2 car payments right now! So they are checking it out and will let me know what they see. If it needs to be repaired, we may have to get another car.... sigh

So.. I am eating some Pork Rinds. Which are totally OP.. but help with the stress cause they are salty! LOL!

I guess I should getup on the treadmill while I am waiting for the call...

hope all are doing well! :)

spryng 10-03-2003 02:21 PM

Another quiet day here. Hmmm...

Karen, sorry to hear about your van. A friend of mine has a caravan and they've repaired the transmission 4 times now! Apparently it's a common problem in caravans. They eventually had to sell it because it was costing too much to keep up. Hopefully though yours will be fine or just something minor wrong with it. But sounds like you are dealing with the stress of it really well.

My day is going just fine. I got up early and did some errands and my big grocery shopping. Ds was horrible at the grocery store. I really am thinking about putting them in a daycare or something on fridays so I don't have to worry about them while I get things done. It just stresses me out. I really wanted to stop at mcdonalds and get something to eat, but everything I know that was low points wasn't appealing to me as much as a big mac and huge fries so I just didn't go at all. I didn't think I could resist. And tomorrow is WI so I'm trying to be extra good today. SO I came home and had a lean pocket with some low point chips. It hit the spot. Tonight I plan on making beef and bean enchiladas. They are only 5 pts for 2, so that sounds great to me.
So other than that everything is normal around here. Looks like I'll definitely being seeing DH saturday night, so I'm excited about that. I'll pick him up saturday and he'll stay one night and then has to get back by sunday night. But one night is better than none. Then he gets his own truck and all the training is over with.
Well, I hope everyone is having a great day. I'm hoping that it's so quiet here today because everyone is having a good time somewhere else and staying OP! :) TTYL!

ECmom 10-03-2003 02:33 PM

Hi!
Sort of a strange time of day for me to get on, but one of the schools had a half day, so I am off for another 45 minutes. Thought I would stop in and say hi.

Spryng- gee, this training period for Dh has really gone fast.......how long before he gets his own truck?? BTW- how did you like the chicken and cheese recipe?? I hear ya with shopping with kids, it is stressful and so much more sane w/o them. As far as avoiding Mickey D's- great job! There are times when you will have to do just that.....and whatever works to get you thru a situation without going off plan is good. We all have days like that.

Karen- what a bummer about your van. We are in the same boat, and it seems as though every week there is another major bill from the mechanic. Hope it was nothing too costly this time! Hope you got some treadmill time in to burn off the stress and the salt.

Jen- I hope you picked up and your headache is gone!! thanks for the recipe- I think I will give it a try.......and only 5 points!!!!:) Thanks too for the offer on the tapes- I will try to search the web- and see what comes up there.....there is an excercise tape catalog that I used to buy from that had almost everyone's tapes- I'll try them first. You are a sweetie for offering to get them for me.!!

Dm's surgery went well and today she is doing fine. She seems to think there is an improvement already in her arm.
Gotta go.........tell ya about it later!!!
Ginny

spryng 10-03-2003 02:47 PM

Hi Ginny! Glad to hear about your dm. Sounds like her recovery is going well. Yes the training for Dh did go by fast. It's been almost 4 weeks, but it has flown by. He should get his own truck on monday!! I'm so excited. Then he starts getting paid by the mile instead of the day. I am really looking forward to that. I did like the chicken and cheese casserole. It was a little runny the night I made it, but last night I warmed it up as leftovers and it was just right! I'll definitely be making it again. I'm also going to be trying Jen's meatloaf recipe this week, only I'm making it with ground turkey because my store doesn't carry ground chicken. But I'm assuming it will come out the same. Yes, I've been trying so very hard to not go off plan once so I knew it would be better for me to not stop at mcdonalds at all. because of having the flexpoints I don't feel it's right to ever cheat on this... so I refuse to as long as possible... which so far hasn't been too difficult. How are you adjusting to flexpoints? I keep reading that those who were on winning points for so long have a hard time with flexpoints and some gain for the first few weeks before their bodies figure out what is going on. My body is fine with it so far. I hope it stays like this.
Well, I'm off to scour the net for recipes and such. TTYL!

LeanneM83 10-03-2003 03:45 PM

Hi Ladies....

Well, I weighed in at 183 today....I am quite happy, although I think I jumped the gum a bit and started trying some of my clothes on...I was less than successful, since most are for when I am 145 pounds......but, it is alright if anything it motivates me more, because I cannot wait to get into them....
Karen, I was reading a post you wrote awhile ago about wanting to eventually run, and I just wanted to say that I was NEVER a runner.....when i was 18 my mom bought a treadmill and I struggled through walking at first, once the walking got easier, I thought I would TRY running.my first time I ran for 1 whole minute....but, I knew I could do more...each day/every other day I increased by 1 minute, and let me tell you it was HARD but eventually.(about a month) I could run for 15-20 minutes, which was a great workout....SO, what I am saying is that if I can do it, I know ANYONE can....:strong: SO think you should give it a go when you are ready....:cb:
Anyways, I am glad to hear everyone is doing well....and if you ever need motivation as to why we put ourselves through this, look at your kids (if you have some) and that should help.

Good afternoon, ladies. :)

Karen, so sorry about your van troubles. I hate auto repairs!!!! I had a blow-out on the highway on the way home from work this morning....... total bummer!!!!! Thank goodness for a cell phone and AAA. But, of course, I did not get home before the kids were off to school, and it was picture day, to boot! DH assures me they looked fine. We will have to bring the car in tomorrow to have the tire repaired, and will have the front breaks done, as long as it's in.

Spryng, how cool that your dh will be home again this weekend! And I can't believe his training is almost done..... what a relief it must be for you. I think the ground turkey will be just fine in the meatloaf recipe. :) And I agree with you about not needing to cheat on WW. Last night at work, I had a handful of M&M's and a half of a donut.... I counted them in with my points today. I had a late, decent-sized lunch around 2:30pm (I had not eaten since 5am), so now I only have 3 points left for the day. But I will not need much of a dinner..... a couple of egg whites on toast will do me fine. :) Plus, I have not used any flex points, and I have 10 activity points banked for the week so far. So, I may just use a few extra points on a little treat tonight. I saw on the WW website that I can make a chocolate Coke float with 1/2 can of diet vanilla coke, 1 tsp lite chocolate syrup, and 1/2 cup fat free vanilla frozen yogurt for 3 points........ that sounds sooooooooo good to me right now! :)

Ginny, so glad dm's surgery went well. Glad you were able to stop in and check in with us. And truly, if you can't find the tapes and decide you want them, it is no trouble for me to pick them up for you. :)

K gals, I'm off. The kids are home from school, and the little guy is being an instigator. He has gotten used to having Mommy all to himself while his older siblings are off at school all day........... bye! :)

Hello there!

Well, It's been a trying time here, but I think things are getting better. Myra seems to be doing fine, so much so that her DR. went ahead and sent her for her first round of shots yesterday. So... now she's running fever again, but it's still low (99.8*) so I think we'll be fine. She's even starting to sleep for longer stretches at night, so I'm actually getting a little sleep. As for me, I'm still staying OP and starting to adjust to the changes! And Spryng, as for adjusting to the Flex plan, it was a little rough the first week but I think I've got it now! You really seem to be doing well on this plan too, I'm happy for you! And how exciting that your Dh is already going to be getting his own truck already.

Ginny, I'm glad that your Dm is doing well! And as for you getting on at a strange time of day, hey, we're happy to see you anytime!

Leanne, you're right about trying clothes for an incentive. I look so... forward to getting back to my pre-pregnancy clothes!

Well I better go, just put Myra down for a nap and I need to do some cleaning, my Ds is coming up from La. tonight! Have a great Friday and weekend!

Good afternoon all!
Leanne, congrats on the WI! I'm happy that you sound so motivated! And yes, children are a huge incentive to lose weight... I heard someone say once: would you die for you kids? Yes wouldn't hesitate... then why don't you live for them too? So I want to be get very healthy and live for them as long as I can :)
Jen, sounds like you have this plan down too. But I did want to mention something. You do know that you can't bank activity points right? With winning points you could, but with flex points you have to use them the day you earn them or they are gone. But the nice thing is you can use as many as you earn, with winning points you could only eat 4 AP a day. But I was reading your post and saw you mentioned banking AP's and just wanted to bring it up... forgive me if I'm preaching to a choir! lol.
Mel, glad to hear Myra is feeling better. Tanner just got his shots last monday and he didn't run a fever but he was cranky the rest of the day. And it's great you're getting a little more sleep at night now! It really makes all the difference. Even if it's just one extra hour of sleep.
Misty??? How are you? I know you are getting close to your due date. I hope everything is going ok. Post when you can to let us know, ok?
Well, I guess I'm going to get some dishes done before the kids get up from their naps. TTYL!

Spryng, thank you for telling me about the activity points! My online points tracker keeps a running weekly tally...... the way they have it set up, it says weekly points earned, then just below it, it has your remaining flex points. So, they make it look like your activity points are good for the week, know what I mean. But I looked it up and you're right, they are only good for the day they are earned. I'm glad I know that before I went counting on all those extra points! Actually, I am trying not to use the activity points at all, But, I am going to use the 2 I earned today, plus 1 flex point for that Coke float tonight. :)

Mel, I am glad Myra is feeling and sleeping better. I'm sorry she's a little feverish after her shots, but I'm sure she'll be fine. Sounds like you are doing well with the flex points. :)

Well, gotta finish getting dinner ready. The kids are having chicken and mac and cheese, and dh will have chicken and a wonderful taboule salad I made. The taboule only has 1.5 points per serving, so I will have a double-serving of that for dinner instead of the egg whites and toast. :)

Have a great weekend all!!! :)

Good evening all!
Jen, I'm glad you know about those Ap's now. I would hate for you to save them and use them along with your FP and gain or something... but you are like me. I don't use mine either... but I will if I want a treat and that coke float sounds great. :) Let us know how is came out!
Well I got bad news... Dh won't be coming home sunday afterall. He has to do some written tests on sunday so he's stuck at the yard. But I may go up and see him. I asked MIL if she would watch the kids for me and she said she would but I could tell by the tone of her voice that she didn't want to. So we'll see. I really don't want to drag them up there with me, I really need a break... but I'll just have to play it by ear.
Tonight went well though. I made those bean and beef enchiladas and they were great and worth every point. (5pts for 2) Now I'm trying to get all my water down so that my system will flush any salt it has stored before tomorrow's WI. I have a feeling i didn't lose anything... in fact I may be retaining water because my jeans were feeling kinda tight tonight. But I won't know until tomorrow morning. Please send good WI vibes my way!! lol
Well I'm tired so I'm off here for tonight. TTYL!

Good morning all.
Well, my WI went as expected, it said I gained 2 lbs! So I went over my calendar and sure enough TOM is quickly approaching. Ugh. So I thought I felt bloated yesterday. I knew it couldn't be a regular gain because I have stuck to this plan like glue and exercised 5 days this week. Hopefully this gain is gone by next WI. TTYL
