Default loose skin

Hello I have a quick question on my starting of a weight loss journey. I’m 5’2 and weigh around 200 pounds and want to lose 50, I started losing weight before the holidays because I started getting stretch marks on my stomach, I got down to 175 from 183 in a week I believe. I’ve always kinda been big but it doesn’t help because of how short I am, but my stomach didn’t get stretch marks till now, will I get a lot of lot of loose skin?

You should have no problem at all with loose skin . that happens when you lose a lot more weight very quickly like upwards of 100 lbs. Your goal of losing 50 lbs is very reasonable and appropriate ! 5' 2" and 150 lbs is a nice place to be, not too fat and not some ridiculously low weight goal that is not really within reason

You can do this. You won't get the loose belly skin from a relatively small weight loss, that I'm sure seems huge to you but is not exactly record breaking braking type of huge.

You also won't get stretch marks from losing some weight, you get those by gaining fast weight and often in pregnancy where you can pile on some fast weight.

You have nothing to worry about regarding loose skin and stretch marks, it is not the kind of weight loss that results in the skin thing and you don't get stretch marks from losing weight, only gaining it does that

Best wishes with your attempt to drop the 50 lbs, it's a good realistic achievable goal and not some crazy target weight that has little chance to achieve.

You can do this but not an easy thing to do, it will require effort and commitment, even if you only manage to lose 25 or 30 pounds at sort of hit a plateau and find yourself stuck at 170 or 180 or something and can't get to 150, it is still better than 200. I sort of reach a level where I can't break through and my body just won't lose any more
That is 290 lbs for me, better than my career high of 342, but not where I want to be at

Unfortunately, this will depend on a combination of different factors.
*Your genetics
*how quickly you lose weight
*age

I am 23 and I have lost 65+ lbs over the course of several YEARS and I have enough loose skin on my tummy to qualify for an all-in tummy-tuck. I just don't want to pay $8k for it, since I am looking to have children in the next 5-ish years.
I have seen women older than me lose more than me in a shorter amount of time who have little to no loose skin.
There is no way to tell.
Just know that the changes you are making are due to your health and how you feel, and not to have a perfect body.

There's a simple method to tell in case you're managing genuine free skin or an excessive amount of muscle to fat ratio. Squeeze the zone you're worried about and on the off chance that you can get in excess of a couple of millimeters of skin, there's progressively fat in there to lose. Until the point when you lose that fat, your skin has no motivation to come back to its previous size and tightness.
