Default Besides drinking a ton of water (Retention Woes)

What else can I do, besides the obvious things like increase water and decrease sodium intake, to minimize water retention? I take Zoloft and it makes me bloated to the max. Any suggestions? I'm going to ask my Psych on the 22nd about OTC diuretics. Thanks.

ETA: One other question but has anyone heard of Statins causing weight gain? I've read it's less than 2% of patients but I'm still curious. I don't see how it could do that but it seems everything is an issue lately. :/ I don't consider anything read off of Google as reliable but just in case anyone has inquired with an actual MD about Statins. I have to take them so it is what it is but I'm just wondering.

Asparagus and cucumbers are natural diuretics. Maybe lemon in your water as well? Just suggestions until you ask your doc

Caffeine, if you're not sensitive to it.

The weight gain, for some, as I understand it is not a direct result of the medication. It’s, if it happens at all, a result of an increased craving for sweets not necessarily an increased appetite. It can also make you retain water—that side effect should resolve itself in a matter of weeks. I think if, like me, you’re taking it for depression and anxiety + NES/BED it is unlikely to have the effect. I’ve noticed I’m creased energy, but I’ve also noticed it helps remendoulsy with NES and I’m not even at a full therapeutic dose.
