Default lets talk volume

hello everyone. very new at dieting and support groups but am looking forward to dialog.
I have become comfortable Accurately counting calories, ive invested in a kitchen scale because who the **** knows what 4oz of chicken looks like? i can read labels and serving sizes. currently trying to limit myself to around 2400 calories a day. my issue now is volume. i still eat so much. for example, salads. my favorite bowl is the one off of my kitchen aid. its huge and i fill that sucker up. i picked cherries Sunday and ate myself sick. now i know salads and cherries are healthy but my habits are not. compulsive and out of control. i believe in shrinking your stomach but my volume is crazy. being hungry is dangerous for me. i dont think there is anything wrong with being hungry, in fact it means my diet is working. what happens though is i will snack or make poor decisions. i tend to try and substitute low calorie foods that i can eat alot of, like pickles or carrots. i know i cant be alone in this and would welcome some commentary. people have told me my volume will "naturaly stabilize" ya right.
If you have ideas or tricks i would love to hear them.
