Default First post, Is 1Kg/2.2lbs loss too much weekly?

First post, didn't want to make multiple threads as soon as i joined so this will be my introduction + question thread!

I always saw this forum on google, but i always thought it was only for ladies until i read on another thread that Mr's are allowed in here too! I'm MrGreen, living in Windy Welly, NZ, I'm 26, still new to the healthy lifestyle/ exercise routine, but doing well, i think.

42 days ago i was 77.5kg/ 171lbs, 166cm
Now i'm 72kg / 158lbs, still 166cm

I still feel strong, i feel healthy, i get hungry once in a while, but i never overly starve myself.

I'm on a 1000 calorie deficit, according to damnripped's website, my TDEE is 2400-2600 Cals daily, My intake is 1600 cals daily, my macros are ok, i think.

I keep reading that going on a deficit higher than 500 cals a day is bad, where as i'm at 1000, maybe even a little bit more ( but i always take 2 days off where i meet my rda, i don't overdo, but don't underdo either )

Basically, i feel strong, healthy, sadly i think my wasteline isn't going down, though i have no accurate picture of what i was before i started and my scale is definitely being good. Can i keep going with this routine, i really don't want to slow my weightloss journey if i don't need to, especially since i'm very content.

Thanks

Hi Mr. Green, however unfair it is to us chicks, guys do lose much quicker. In my opinion, your weight loss seems to be what a guy typically loses if they are dedicated and don’t cheat. If your waist line is still not where you think it should be, it could be you are getting most of you calories from carbs. You said your macros are okay, but what are your percentages? Anyway, congratulations on you success so far and welcome!

I don't think 2.2 is crazy bad as long as you are getting your macros and micros [be sure you are getting enough protein] and RDA of nutrients. I use the cron-o-meter free app to check mine and I am running a bigger deficit when I take into account exercise and am losing around 2.4 per week sustained for about 3 months. But. I check my nutrients daily and supplement as needed.

I'm doing 50%Carbs, 30%Protein, 20%fat According to MyFitnesspal with slight variations (Sometimes fat and protein is the other way around but i try to usually keep it as the above), i also try to eat very clean; lean meat, alot of fruit and vegges, alot of fiber cereals(I have had IBS, and this pretty much cures it, even though many don't recommend it, but regardless 50,30,20 is pretty consistent)
I might have had some minor changes in my waistline, but i haven't actually measured it, nor do i have any way of proving it, and my eyes keep telling me i'm the same, but surely that's what our eyes do.

I'm glad you said that, i think i'm consistent with losing 1kg/2.2lbs weekly, and i'm happy with that, i don't feel weak or hungry, and i was very upset that i kept reading that i shouldn't be losing that much that fast, my protein intake was pretty low until recently, i just fixed it, hopefully i wasn't too late.
