Why cant I lose weight

  • I am 34 single man . i have tried hard loosin weight for many times but I cant loose it. it looks I am bound to be with it.
  • What have you tried so far? I've made a number of attempts in the past to loose weight, as well, but it wasn't until I made a lifestyle change that I started seeing significant progress. What really worked for me was logging everything I ate and drank, because then I was finally able to understand how much I was overeating on an average day.
  • 1. going potato burger 3 times a day 2 in a meal
    2. at a time i ate olives for all 3 meals nothing else
    3. at another point salad meal only breakfast made me de hydrate and it made me miserable
  • Well it seems you are going from one extreme to the other. You need to be able to fuel your body in the correct way or it will just start to act strange, starving yourself is not the answer.

I always suggest to download the My Fitness Pal App and start there, work out how many calories you eat normally without eating potato burgers or whatever they are. Thats too much carbs and no protein.

Maybe try eat 2 or 3 boiled eggs with a small slice of bread for breakfast.

Then have for lunch some turkey or tuna with some cottage cheese and maybe some salad

have a protein bar as a snack or some greek yoghurt

Then for dinner I usually have stirfry with turkey, or prawns, or beef.

This should give you enough meat for protein, carbs for nutrients and fat.

Let us know how it goes.

What if I take protein smoothie of 150 gram with fruitarian
  • I think you might have to try a lot of different things. For me, what ended up working was a combination of intermittent fasting (basically I only eat dinner) and keto (getting your body into a state of ketosis by having about 2 / 3 of your calories come from fat, almost 1/3 from protein and only a tiny number from carbs, so that you can only have carbs from vegetables, mostly, and only some vegetables). If you're into extremes, like I am, that may help. Anything you do is going to be hard, but intermittent fasting and keto helped me control my appetite so that it was easier.

But like I said, you will have to find out what works for you personally by experimenting. Bottom line is that you will lose weight if you take in fewer calories than you put out.
  • I believe i took many fewer calories but it didnt work for me.
  • It sounds like you might benefit from a more structured approach to eating and I think you would need to stick with that approach for a long enough time to give it a fair chance to show results on the scale (several weeks). While different approaches work well for different people, the approach you are taking of relying on food substitution with a single food is difficult to stick with long term.

You might consider joining TOPS or weight watchers or find a book with a meal plan. You might start with a book that includes menus and recipes for a relatively balanced diet to start with the basics. If you follow a lower calorie meal plan for several weeks, you should begin to nudge the scale in the right direction. Then you might experiment with ways of making a lower calorie lifestyle work better for you. FWIW, the way of eating that works well for me long run is very sortof similar to ImpalaHoarder's but a little more balanced on the macros.

Good luck, I hope you find something that works for you!
