Default Shrunk an inch? Noooo....

I've always been measured at 5'5, but my internist office measured me at 5'4 about 1 year ago. I chalked it up to error. I went back this week and again, 5'4!

This pisses me off because I am working toward a normal BMI, which is 149 for 5'5 and I'm almost there! If I actually am 5'4, I will have to be at 145 to be a normal BMI. Also, I will probably have to alter my goal weight.

This sucks!

Well, I don't think you have to necessarily change your goal weight. If you're going to gain muscle, as well, 149 might look great because you're also exercising. You might feel amazing because your body fat percentage is going to go down as you lose weight the healthy way. (: Maybe keep your goal weight and, if you feel like you need to, bump it down later on?

I am determined to get to a normal BMI and then some...I am so tired of being labelled "obese" in my medical records because of the computer generated BMI algorithm!

Everyone shrinks as they age a bit. I used to be 5'4 and now I'm 5'3 on a good day. It happens.

Haven't you heard? BMI is horsesh*t and by no means not an accurate indicator of health. Fear numbers no more.
