Smoking and coffee.
Having to stop smoking is the hardest thing I have had to do in some while.
I'm new to the forum and going in for surgery in 3 week I'm getting a Gastric sleeve and I am going to have it done in Mexico. My surgeon told me that I had to stop smoking and it is so hard for me I feel like I'm losing my mind. Can someone give me some advice on what you all did to get over the nicotine fit. I can not even sleep and when I do I dream that I'm looking for a cigarette...weird no but it happens. Even worse in one week I will half to stop drinking coffee as well. I feel that this surgery is going to change so many thing that I will lose my mind. Any advice please. |
Quitting smoking was the hardest (yet best) thing I have done. I used mind tricks mostly - like I could have cigarette after breakfast, then I would change it to after lunch etc.
Also I could not drink coffee without cigarette, so the coffee went as well (for 3 months) and I hate milk so I would chug a small glass of that & the thought of a cigarette after that was not nice. Good luck to you & I hope you find something that works for you. |
Thanks you all for you support is is very thankful. I know it seem that I just not might be ready but if I do not do this now then I probably will not do it ever. One of you girls ask why I was going to go to Mexico it is because my insurance would not pay for me to have it done. I will be a self pay patient and it has a way lower price. I know you all might think we get what we pay for. I know some friends that have also had surgery in Mexico as well. And one of them even had surgery with the same surgeon that I choose to go with.
