Today must be my lucky day! Remember when I ordered those clothes and chose deferred billing and they wanted to authorize my credit card for the amount? I got major peeved and cancelled the whole thing with a scathing letter about the definition of deferred etc. I got a call from a customer service rep all apologetic about it, not only authorizing the deferred billing, but giving me 120 days instead of 90 and sending it express mail AND waiving the shipping and handling! I guess it pays to get pissy sometimes doesn't it! Woohoo, my new clothes should be here in two days! I am sure not all of them will fit, but hopefully they will by my birthday or a little after that.

See you in the morning, girls!

** AND BTW IF ANY OF YOU ARE LURKING AND NOT POSTING BECAUSE YOU HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO EARN ALL 4 POINTS EVERY DAY, YOU GET YOUR BEHIND IN HERE ANYWAY! WE WANT YOU HERE WHETHER YOU ARE ABLE TO EARN 4 POINTS OR NO POINTS!!!!! YOU CAN'T DO THIS ALONE! **

Morning ladies!
I'm 100% again for yesterday!! 3 down, 2 to go for this week...woo hoo

Missy--just because someone has a "revelation" about food does NOT mean it all falls into place!! :) Just like you, I have food epiphanies, and then a couple of weeks later I'm back to the drive-thrus and convenience food. I have started trying to be more "present" in my own life. Being truly AWARE of what I'm doing and what consequences it will bring. That seems to help. I''m also very lucky that I get to stay home with the kids, because that means I get a chance to actually COOK meals, instead of just defrosting them. My husband and I used to eat out all the time. Now that we have 3 kids, we can't afford it........and even when we can, I just don't want to. We don't have any restaraunts around here that don't leave me feeling sick when I'm done eating...even if I don't overeat.

I saw the most hilarious commercial last night........well, hilarious in an incredibly SAD sort of way. It was by some loan company trying to sell consolidation loans.....So there was this guy and he's very "silicon valley", he says "I'VE got a GORGEOUS 4 bedroom house, and a dog, and like my new car? It's NEW (big honkin' suv)....they show him out back bbq-ing with the neighbors in front of the pool and jacuzzi......then he says "How do I do it?" He puts on this ridiculous plastic grin and says "I"M IN DEBT UP TO MY EYEBALLS!" more pics of him and his stuff...big plastic grin still there "I can't even afford the interest payments!" THe final shot is him on a brand new riding lawnmower with that same plastic grin, his yard is tiny and he's just riding around in circles whimpering "somebody help me" through the smile.

It got me thinking that as bad as people are about not being "present" in their life when they make financial decisions.....so many more of us do the same thing with food. Just eat and eat, unconsciously, even though we know our bodies can't "afford" it. Everyone else pigs out at the buffet line, so we should, too. The boss bought pizza for everyone, so I have to eat it, too. I've had ice cream and four pieces of cake for my birthday since I was 5, so this year I'll do the same. "SOMEBODY HELP ME". I think all it takes is being in the here and now, paying attention......now if I only knew an easy way to do that!

Gosh, when did I start waxing philosophic all the time????
Everyone stay strong today!
Julie

Morning All....

Fabulous morning, up early, getting started! I remember the days not too long ago, when I grunted and groaned and pissed and moaned about getting up, dreading the day that lay ahead of me, WELL NOT ANYMORE, I am up and at em'!!! I am grateful to be living my life again, instead of just existing in it!! Wasted too much time sitting on the outside looking in, and "waiting till that magical day when the excess weight would be gone, and I could actually participate in my life", but ironically, and irrationally!!!! do nothing to make that happen, is that crazy or what???? But, here I am I am turning all that around, by the grace of God, and all of you....I am doing it!! with that said, (trying to be positive you know)...

I got all 4 pts yesterday, did my exercise with my sister and neice!!! It was soooo much fun to have partners, we had a ball lots of laughs and encouragement, wish I had them here with me this am, but I am going to do it anyway!;)

Faye, congrats on both fronts, the clothes and the exercise machine...I don't think I could even get up on one of those things, and forget making it move IF I did get up there:D :D :D YOU GO GIRL!!

Mirabelly, fantastic, keep it up, you got all your pts yesterday! we can do it again today too!

Nellie, where are you??? pllllllllease come back and post again today!! you will be so glad you did, so excited to have you here.

Tonya, Satine, Julie, Missy and all the rest of you chickies, get in here today and join the fun!! going to be a great Thursday!:grouphug: take care all.........................................

stay positive:D and stay strong!

Honeyrose29 08-21-2003 10:06 AM

Hi everyone!

Yesterday I got all 4 pts.. and also the day b4. Doing great here!

Last night I almost had a major fall in my diet. Cake. Its my favorite! (well ok.. just one of many faves) I actually had a piece and had a bite on a fork.. then I dumped it all down the disposal.
I am so proud! DH's birthday is Tomorrow.. so I will have to battle cake cravings a little longer. Maybe I'll have one bite .. just to celebrate with him.. but thats it!

I've been so busy I havent had much time to post. But on the up side of that.. Busy means active in my house!

Tons to do today.. check in later :)

mugirl213 08-21-2003 10:10 AM

Hi girls! Congrats on your points girls! I'm with Faye, if you haven't gotten your points, don't shy away! We are all here to help you!

Somehow, miraculously, I got through yesterday with ALL 4 POINTS! HURRAH!
It was totally a miracle. The thing was I wasn't even really hungry last night. Well I was, but I wasn't if that makes sense. I think alot of times, I FEEL like I should be hungry and then MAKE myself hungry if that makes sense. But after the croissant dilema, I had about 500 cals for the rest of the day...but, all I had for dinner was one of those Cup of Noodles. Granted, kinda high in fat and salt, BUT, only 300 calories, so that works for. Even with 200 cals left for dessert, I didn't eat anything else. So if I underestimated that calorie content on the chicken salad, I'm safe! ;)

Well hope everyone else is having a super day, I'll check back in later!

gma22 08-21-2003 12:49 PM

woohoo girls we are really going to town aren't we? Maybe I ought to do the drill sargeant thing more often!

WE ARE STILL 100% ON OUR 4 POINTS CHALLENGES!

Julie: YOU GET A: :bravo: for points!

Pam: YOU GET A: :bravo: for points!

Debbie: YOU GET A: :bravo: for points!
For both days!

Missy: YOU GET A: :bravo: for points!

I am so very very proud of you ladies and the fact that you are working so hard. We are pretty close to the end of both challenges. Are you going to make your 10 lbs challenge? I have already made mine and I am up on cloud nine! I lose another 2 lbs so I am at 8 this week. I don't know why I am so dumb as to slip and slide around on my program because you see how quickly I lose it if I stay with my program, exercise and get my water in!

I have a new website btw if you ever want to look at it. Just click on the website tab at the bottom of the post and it will take you right to it.

Everyone have a great day, I am going to shower, dress and move furniture around in the living room to accomodate the glider and then hop on and see if I can do about 15 minutes to start with. BJ Thomas here I come!

Faye:)

crazygrace 08-21-2003 01:05 PM

hello everyone!
yes, I got my 4 points for yesterday...whoo hooo!! The water was dicey, I was drinking until 9:30 last night trying to get in that last 8 oz :) but I made it :cb:
Faye...how very nice of those people to give you that glider! Did you like it? You must be feeling great as you are sticking with your program and seeing results. You are a great :drill: and a great :high: (cheerleader).
Honeyrose...you dumped the cake :dancer: good work! I LOVE cake...so, I am impressed!
Nellie...come on back and say hello. Even if you aren't sure what we are doing, or if you are struggling yourself, or whatever :D this is a great place to get some help.
Yesterday I went to Pilates and my instructor asked me if I had lost more weight...this made my night. I have been feeling so discouraged as the scale just does not wanna drop but apparantly things are still "moving around" or something. It was great motivation to keep on keeping on. :cloud9:
Yes pkj, with the support of others and by the grace of God...we are going to make it. :)
Y'all have a great day. Time to get busy.
shauna

gma22 08-21-2003 02:11 PM

Shauna: YOU GET A: :bravo: for points. The glider is going to be interesting. I am certainly going to have to take baby steps with it. I got on it for 10 minutes and was pooped and then tried to get back on for a while about half hour later and it was a no go, but then I have put in a 75 minutes in the pool today so my body is probably saying "whoa, baby!"

Everyone is doing a spectacular job. Keep strong and tough, this is day 4!

Faye:)

mugirl213 08-21-2003 02:43 PM

Faye - glider sounds great! I am obsessed with the eliptical machine at the gym...I'm up to 30 minutes at this point. It took me WAY a long time to get this far though because cardio is a hard thing to do...but it does get easier. Hang in their girlfriend! :)

YAY for us! 3 days down...2 (or 4) to go! WHOO HOO!!!

TonyaS 08-21-2003 04:14 PM

Faye, your husband sounds like a huge sweety :D

Debbie, great job on the weight and the points, still doing very well I see :)

Hi Missy, satine, Shauna, Pam, Julie.. everyone else!

well I got this thread, and another where I am getting asked my "secret", and I have thought about it.. and I don't really have one.. haha. So I decided I would try to put it out there as best I know it.

I do WW mostly, and fitday.com (calorie counter). I try to keep breakfast and lunch under 700 calories all together, and under 12 WWP. So for breakfast I always eat a bowl of cereal , like special K, honeycomb, honey nut cheerios, and skim milk. I am always in a hurry, so this is the best option for me. With skim milk, it's 3 WWP. I drink coffee like crazy, so I limit myself to 2 mugs, with a tblsp of fat free creamer in each cup. that adds another 2 WWP. I try to stay around 5-6 for breakfast. Lunch I keep at 6-8. That way I have around 7-10 WWP for the evening time, since that is my worst time for the urge to eat.

Like today, I had my cereal, only 1 cup of coffee with the tblsp of creamer for breakfast, then for lunch a lean cuisine, 2 slices of light wheat bread (40 cal per slice, 1 WWP for 2 slices), and I had a Weight Watchers smart one's fudge bar, 1WWP. So today, after lunch I am at 11 WWP for they day, and 690 calories, 11g fat , for the day.
This leaves me open for a good 500 calories tonight, which I can usually pull off unless I am going crazy for something really evil :)

This is what I have done from day 1, which was Aug. 21, 2002.

I have never been one to do the low carb thing, I would never ever survive, I could never eat cabbage soup for a week straight, I would end up driving myself so crazy I would binge so bad afterwards I would gain double the weight back.

This way, I can have things I like, and compromise here and there on other things, and still be satisfied with my results :)

I also speed walk or run on my treadmill 3 times a week for 30 minutes. if nothing else, it keeps my metabolism fueled. I recently tried "One a day" weight smart vitamins, I think you said Faye, that you take them too... anyhow, I really think they help boost my metabolic rate too. Since I started, I have lost 5 pounds doing nothing different than I did before...

===

I also have some randon thoughts for the day

my first one is that Payday should be called "transfer day". That is what it is to me I swear.. :p It goes in the bank, and right back out!

my second one is that I love being thin, but there is a drawback! I have discovered the evil shopper in myself, I can't help it! I see something I want, I try it on, and I can't not buy it :(

Today I went to Express, and I find this pair of pants that I cannot live without. They are $39.00 , and I got $5.00 off for applying for an express card. O, great, just what I need! :p man when that thing comes, someone grant me the wisdom to cut it up PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!! I am out of control with this :p

I also wanted to add that my favorite lean cuisine at this point in time (it changes often) is the Chicken in Peanut Sauce. Yum! if you like the asian style cuisine one's , try this one! it's really good!

ok, got all that off my chest, I feel betta! :)

Have a lovely thursday ladies!

Satine 08-21-2003 04:25 PM

Afternoon ladies

Tonya, I too am doing the WW points...right now I can have like 25-26 per day....how many do you have daily...with how much you weigh I imagine it is like under 20, huh? I really like the points system and have lost about 24 pounds now on it...and I too take those vitamins that you were talking about and I really do think that they have made a difference -although at our ages we should still be doing pretty well metabolism wise....but I am turning 30 soon, and it all goes down hill from there...ha
only kidding ladies....

Faye - good job on the exercise equipment, your husband is always lookin out for ya huh - and isnt it great to get something for free ? Good luck with it, that will give you some variety from
the pool...

I was on track yesterday for my 4 points, yeah me! and all of us
doing such a great job....
I am not caught up enought to do personal messages so I will check in later....good luck this evening...

TonyaS 08-21-2003 04:33 PM

18-23, so yeah, I try to stay at 20 , in the middle somewhere :)

Satine 08-21-2003 04:37 PM

sometimes I find it hard to stay in those points, especially at breakfast, it is hard to find something for 5 points are under when you want to incorporate protein...it keeps me full longer

TonyaS 08-21-2003 04:37 PM

oh, and I forgot the key! Water, Water, Water! 100 oz a day here..
