Just checking in to say I've completed Day 7 OK. Starting here on Day 8 and I'm determined to make this a real 100 percent effort kind of day.

Amarantha, congrats on another day of success. How many dogs and cats do you have, by the way? Also, what's the new pic under your name? Looks like a goddess. Who is it? Is it Artemis? And please, you are incapable of "hogging" the thread. I for one absolutely love your posts, the colors, the smilies. They are simply so fun to look at and better yet to read. Post away, please!!

zadie k, love that word there -- "craptasticness." Now that sounds like one h@ll of a day you had! But you didn't let it trip you up. You rule!

Marvelous Cerise, that was a great save at the burger joint. Sounds like you're making the changes that are going to change things for you. More power to you. May the force of the 21-Day challenge be with you!

Bo-Beena, welcome aboard! Love that pic under your equally charming name. You say "starting out small" but that doesn't sound small to me! That is a major challenge you've undertaken. Good luck and I'll be looking to you for inspiration. I don't do the fast food thing but I am a convenience store lazy butt. I'm thinking of making a future challenge to include something like -- making one new recipe or preparing to make one new recipe a day.

Eydie, what's your new challenge about? Tell us please!

Yo, Day Three, Praise Be!!!

Yo! Reporting on Day Three, since I'm at the end of my calories and don't intend to crash and burn! ON TO DAY 4!

Yo, RB! Yes, that is Artemis, who is special to me! I was experimenting with the Mona Lisa and a few other pics last night and happened upon her! :) Thanks for your kind words on thread hogging ... I am rather a prolific poster, though. If I got paid for this, I'd be a billionaire! :)

BTW, I have one Old Dog, the true love of my life, one Silly Cat, and two budgies!

:bravo: for your Day 7 ... I think that's a great idea ... to make this a 100 percent kind of day ... mine wasn't today, but at least I made my goals! Tomorrow: 100 percent!

Avanti!

My Sprint To September 6 21-Day Challenge, Day Three Report:

1) 1700 calories or less?
Yes, 1700!

2) At least one exercise session per day? Yes. Hall treadmill (to save gas, I didn’t go to gym), 55 minutes.

Beam me up, Scotty! :balloons:

Day 3 will never end...

Hey, girls.

Checking in to say that I'm TIRED and when I'm TIRED I sit on my @$$ and eat. (Hey, where did the Pac-Man eating a burger smilie go? )

So far the day has gone well, eating-wise. I had saved half of my burger and fries from last evening and brought them along for lunch. But, my vegan chili filled me up for the most part, so I eyed the half-burger and then got brave and threw it away. :D I ate the fries, though...

The problem isn't at work, though. The problem's at home when I plunk myself on the couch and want to plow through my comfort foods...I'll definitely come in here and report before bed.

Somebody send me some self-control...

Pre-bed postie

Day 3 I declare officially over.

For dinner I ate one baked potato with sauteed mushrooms and scallions. No butter, no sour cream, no cheese sprinklies, no dessert. And you know what? I liked it just as well. :p

I did 2 sets of 20 crunches and 1 set of 20 lateral crunches (raise your elbow to the opposite knee), both sides.

I feel good about this day. On to day 4. In the immortal words of Empress Amarantha, YOWZA!!

I've been reading your guys' progress and am proud of you all. Thank you so much for being here for me.

Shower and bed.

Day 1 coming to an end!

Hello there ladies,
Just thought I would check in. I made it though 1 day without eating out. Hubby cooked dinner. It was actually a hard day to start on for me since I was running around all day and was hungry. It was tempting to just grap something while my daughter I were shopping. It would have made it easier but I would have regretted it. It helped that I am trying to set a better example for my DD, I don't want her to have the same issuses that I have. She is 12, now is the time to show her the good habits I didn't learn.

Thank you Redballon for the welcome. It is nice to see Amarantha, Wildfire, Cerise, Eydie from the other thread I post on as well as making new friends!

I hope everyone has a good day tomorrow.

zadie k 08-20-2003 10:06 AM

Hello,

Conference call in half an hour. Hopefully I will know if I have a job then. Not the most plesant thing in the world to be left dangling like this.

Congrats to everyone. Way to stay strong.

Amarantha2 08-20-2003 10:30 AM

Yo!!!! This is a triple flyby postie as I'm late for date with trainer!

:bravo: to all who are doing so well here and Zadie good luck on your conference call ... don't feel sad about starting over at Day One, I, for one, do it all the time!!! :s: :bravo: to you for starting over!!!!

Let's go out there and win one for the 21-DAY CHALLENGE GIPPER, guys!!! Yowza! Pow! Zam!!! We're super-21-day-challenge-heroes!!! We're a legend in our own time!!! WE CAN DO THIS!

RedBalloon, I don't know what i'll add to my new challenge. I'll have to set myself a goal and let you know. Thanks for reminding me.

:)

Sticking to the challenge

Hey A. and everyone, thanks for welcoming me to the group...I think this is a great thread. Sounds like everyone is doing great. So far, so good even though it's only been 3 days for me but I'm determined. The plan that works best for me is the old weight watchers exchange program where you have a certain number of protein, fats, fruit, unlimited vegies (non starch) and bread.
This helps me be aware of healthy food and correct portions. The closest thing I've found to that now is R. Simmons' food mover, so I have the books and have been doing that but I do my own exercise (I have to admit I feel silly doing his tapes). Today I jogged 3 miles already. I'm doing very well with my eating plan. I will allow myself a treat no more than once a week (I think I forgot to mention that in my original post). Good luck to everyone and we will reach our goal (or block!).

zadie k 08-20-2003 12:46 PM

Hi,
Now I do not find out about the job thing till after a teleconference that they are having on Monday. I will find out then becuase it is specifically about what is going on with my job thing. Aarrgg.

Day one, going well so far.

Amarantha2 08-20-2003 12:51 PM

Yo! Here I am again ...

Yo! Another flyby ... had a great workout but don't really want to go out again until I have to go cover something tonight because of the gas situation. So, hi again!!! :)

Musicgal, your determination is great! :bravo: You are right, WE WILL REACH OUR GOALS!! The RS foodmover is an excellent tool. There used to be a group on 3FC that did that ... dunno if they're still active. I tried it for two weeks and dropped a lot of pounds because of the portion control and because, I guess, I was eating a balanced diet and didn't feel like bingeing. Good job on your three-mile jog!! :cp:

Eydie:  on Day 2 o' 2!!! You're doing great! I'm glad you like the Artemis pic ... it helps me to see it each day as well. :)

Cerise: Your potato/mushroom thing sounds delicious. I need to think "potato" ... you're doing great on your challenge!!! Here's your pacman guy! :cbg: :cbg: :cbg:

BoBeena: :bravo: to you for holding on to your goals even though you felt hungry from running around! Can you carry a small cooler of V8 and/or a good quality protein drink or some vege and maybe string cheese or something in the car when running around doing errands and such? You do need to keep your blood sugar on an even keel ... sorry, don't mean to give advice, it's a bad habit of mine! Anyhow, you have a great plan!

To all 21-dayers, mentioned or unmentioned, what can I say, have a great day!!! :jig:

Amarantha2 08-21-2003 12:57 AM

Me, again! Here's my report! :comp:

My Sprint To September 6 21-Day Challenge, Day Four Report:

1) 1700 calories or less?
Yes, 1700!

2) At least one exercise session per day? Yes. Weights w/personal trainer, one hour.

Cerise 08-21-2003 01:19 AM

Day 4 almost over

Hey, ladies. Just have to do my exercises and day 4 will be over.

I ate a lot of stir-fry tonight, enough to make my stomach a little tight, but it's all veggies and tofu, so I'm not penalizing myself. And I didn't have any ice cream after because I wasn't hungry.

My goals (in review) are to 1. Eat every day only when I'm hungry and eat only until I'm full (and make good food choices), and 2. Alternating days, do either abs or back strengthening exercises every day.

I'm doing OK so far.

So sleeeepy. See you guys tomorrow. You sound like you did beautifully today.

Apple Blossom 08-21-2003 02:24 AM

Day 5 and then day 6

Hello. Well, I crashed and burned....
I struggled through day 5, no walk but I did get in the sit-ups and saved face by eating salad for dinner. But today....well, I did the sit ups.....
If I was doing a regular 21 day thing I'd start over, but I'm waiting til Aug 31 to start a 21 day count down to my friends wedding. So I guess tomorrow will be day 7 still....tomorrow is another day and if I'm very very good I'll feel better about today.:?: :^: :dizzy:

redballoon 08-21-2003 06:36 AM

Amarantha, Good going on getting through Day 4. :bravo:

Cerise, You did it! Good for you! Sorry I wasn't there to send you help when you asked for it but you got it or had it yourself. Doesn't it make you feel good to know that, yes, you can do it. You're moving on to Day 4. Way to go? :dancer: By the way, you're right about the burger-eating pac man. I tried it here before and it won't show up even if you type in the code. Wonder where it went?

Bo-Beena, :bravo: to you for a succesful Day 1. Oh, I know how easy it is to just grab and eat on the run. That's why I said that your challenge is no simple one. Good for you!

zadie k, sorry to hear you've had to go back to Go but try, try again. That's the way to get where you're going. Good luck!

Eydie, I didn't mean you had to ADD anything to your challenge. I was just wondering what you were doing this time around. So, you've decided to keep doing the same as first time (I think). Oh, and thanks for the review of your challenge. Maybe we should all put in our challenges again for the newcomers. I'll add mine down below. OK! Good for you! :goodvibes:
Musicgal, the first days are the hardest. If you're through 3 you're rolling! Power on! :strong:

Apple Blossom, We'll consider you an exception and turn a blind eye to a little blip in there on your mini challenge. No reason to crash and burn for long. You're back up and running! Yeah!

I'm nearing the end of my Day 9 and I've had two great days where I really gave it 100 percent! Went to the gym and practically knocked myself out. :dizzy: But still got the little routine done that I said I would. I'm really feeling inspired so thanks a lot people! :spin:

And my challenge (2nd time around) is 1) eat no sugar or sweetener whatsoever (except for a bit of sugarless gum 2) do a little arm/should/ab/stretching routine everyday 3) keep a food journal of everything I eat (am not counting calories at this point.)
