Well, heh people, let's not get down because Amarantha :goodvibes: isn't with us anymore. We can't just fizzle. We've got a lot of energy going here and I for one want to keep this thing going. So let's stick together and carry on in the spirit of our founder! :grouphug:
Remember, 7-Day challenges are fine but 21-Dayers are MASTER! :strong: Let's go! I'm finishing up my Day 13. Just have to do my crunches. Bo-Beena, Good for you for making it through Day 6. Tell us about your Curves challenge, too. By the way, what is Curves? I'm assuming it's a fitness club but am not sure. Sorry to be so totally out of it! :joker: Hotsplashes, I definitely wouldn't worry about sleeping too well. That means no doubt that the body is healing from whatever stresses you were putting it through. When I cut back drastically on caffeine I did the same thing but I'd read that the adrenal glands have become so exhausted they don't know how to work naturally and it takes time for them to learn again. Don't think that whatever is happening now is the end thing. It's a transitional change. Sugar is likely doing the same thing and if you ate a lot of chocolate then it's probably connected with caffeine as well. Just what kind of eating changes are you making? Eydie, :bravo: for you and the weight loss and a round of applause :cp: for flying in the face of a stressful guest by still sticking with your workouts and water. Workouts and water, oh my! You are rockin'! And, by the way, you weigh 5 lbs less than I do and I may be getting jealous. I feel the competitive spirit raising its head and . . . .I'm off to bed but you just wait, tomorrow I am going to burn rubber! |
Day 1
OK, ladies, I blew it last week, sullenly stayed away all weekend, and am now BACK ON TRACK!!!:dancer: :dancer:
Has anyone else noticed that weekends are evil, evil, evil? See you at the end of the day... |
Hey everyone! Guess what??
Today is DAY 21 !! :cb: :cb: :cb: I'm holding at 6lbs lost, which is okay with me! Still working a lot of hours, but I'll pop in when I can. Keep it going, girls! |
Wildfire. :flame: You can do it. Just one more day! :cb: :dancer: Hang in there. There's no stopping now!!
AND . . . Cerise is BACK! Hurrah for Cerise. :cp: No keeping her down for long. A little recharging and she is up again for the next round. Go for it once again. The elusive is not truly out of reach. It just takes persistence and strategizing! You can do it! By the way, I'm the opposite when it comes to the evil weekends. It's when I'm at work that I am in major danger of pigging out, out of boredom, frustration, whatever the flavor of the day is and these days they are the everyday flavors. |
I vote that Red Balloon be our new Team Leader! Red Balloon Rocks!
Congrats on the 6lb loss Wildfire! That's 2lbs per week!! Welcome back Cerise! Glad to have you aboard again! Eydie, You Go Girl!!! Stick with it! You can do it! As for weekends....they are easy for me as well. It's when I'm at work or sitting at home bored that I want to cheat. But I haven't! I am on Day 4 of the low carb eating plan that my Dr. put me on ...the first two days were awful for the carb cravings. The last two days have been awesome! I went to McD's for breakfast on the way to the barn...I had 2 Sausage Egg McMuffins...I ate the sausage & eggs, tossed the Muffins. Now mind you I drooled all the way to the garbage can when I had to throw away the muffins...but I didn't have an overwhelming urge to eat them. And I didn't go and cheat by eating carbs elsewhere! I got on the scale today and am 1lb liter...I know I shouldn't be doing a weigh-in until thursday...but I just HAD to check to see how I was doing!lol have a wonderful day ladies!~!!! |
Just visiting guys, everyone is doing GREAT!!! Wildfire, congrats on your 6 pound loss and your 21ST DAY!!! Hooray!!! And to all, mentioned and unmentioned, a resounding :bravo: for all your work!!! Yowza!!
|
Happy 21-days, Wildfire!:D Are you starting another block? Please say yes!:^:
I've got a funny story for you---remember our friend who was visiting this past weekend? He and my husband went hiking Saturday, and on the way back, he begged my husband to stop at a convenience store so he could get some junk food and sodas, because we didn't have any at our house! Addiction...... |
Amarantha, heh, thanks for checking in. How are you doing on your 7-day challenge? I hope well. We miss you here. Come back often, OK?
Wildfire, where are you? I'm waiting to hear that you made it through the final day A-OK. Come on and give us a report!! Eydie, I love that story about your guests going through withdrawal! That is too good!! :spin: Hotsplashes, oh you're a sweetie  , even if you do drool on the way to the garbage can! :joker: I would love to be your leader but don't know if I'm up to the expectations. We're in this together. No leader is any better than her people BECAUSE it's the people who make the leader. Rally around, all, around your fantastic selves and your challenges, all BIG, none small! We are strong! :strong: Great news on the pound loss. :bravo: They all add up, little bit by little bit. I've been slogging heavy through weight training and cycling, jogging and walking and thought I wasn't going to see any movement on the scale. But I think I did this morning. I think it's down but no matter, I'm still going to sling that iron. I've been finally counting calories. I think I must have easily been packing away 3,000 on some days . . oh to be sure!! I'm trying to keep it under 2,000 now and believe me it's hard, but not because I'm so hungry, though I am that at times, but because it's oh, oh, OH, so easy to just pack it in. Oh, and tell me, why can we close our eyes and smile through the gorgings, the days of having it "our way" and then we get our act together for a couple days and scream "it ain't fair!!" when we don't see progress. Heh, we've been seeing "progress" for days on end . . .only it was in THE OTHER DIRECTION!! Now, are we funny or are we FUNNY! (OK, maybe I should just be speaking for myself here. . .sorry.) Oh, by they way, about garbage cans. . .I've been known to not only drool on the way to them but to actually reach in and rescue things out of them. Now, is that gross or . . . NO, wait, please don't answer that! :p I learned to stir things around a bit when I threw things out so I would not be tempted and I have not been tempted. Thank God, I do have a little shred of self-esteem left here. OK, people, where are are others hiding out? Won't you come out where we can see ya? |
A moment of silence, please---for the demise of my 21-day challenge that died too young on its 8th day. Poor thing never even made it to the double digits.:(
Worked a 12-hour day and had to do 3 breaks and lunch, and a birthday cake for a retreat at work. I couldn't keep my wits about me today. I don't know exactly what happened, but there it is.:?: The good news is I'm SOOO ready to get back to Day 1!!! It usually takes me a few days to get back on track and get over my sugar hangover--this time I'll get right back to it. I can't wait. Didn't get in any exercise either--but I did keep up with my water intake today. Tomorrow I'm going to post my food journal as an extra incentive to get back on track. Anybody want to join me? :) |
Just wanted to drop in to say I'm on Day 16. Just starting the day (well, the hardest part is yet to come) but I'm up for it.
Sorry Eydie to hear you tripped up but very glad to hear you're ready to get back on track! So when's your first day back? |
RedBalloon, This is Day 1! This time I'm not interested in taking a few days to come crawling back---I'm back, baby!!!:D
I feel terrible this morning though.:( A sugar hangover. Ick. My plan is to drink oceans of water today and get in lots of exercise, and eat disgustingly well, and immmediately get back to my 1500-calorie regime. [I'll bet I topped 3000 calories yesterday. :o It adds up fast when you're eating mindlessly...oh well.] What's the 'hard part' of your day, RedBalloon? You can get thru it, I know you can!:strong: |
Good Morning Ladies!!!
Eydie, Welcome back to you 21 Day Challenge!!!! You can do it!! It's hard to pass up Bday cake. Especially with the whole office looking on, and without the Bday person getting offended if you refuse a piece. Red Balloon! I too have doven? into the gargage can after throwing out a not completely empty bag of chips. The bag was closed, sitting on top, and my evil side kept saying,"It's not icky! They chips are inside!" And you wouldn't believe how ashamed of myself I was after I did that. I haven't done that since...and it's been several months. So if not our Leader...how about our official "Spokes Person"?!! YOu do such wonderful posts like like Amarantha does. You give such wonderful encouragement! Wildfire, I'll be finishing my 21 block tomorrow! So I won't be far behind you! Congrats on that major 6 pound loss! 2 pounds a week is a good loss average. It sounds like you may be hitting one of those dreaded plateaus. Time to shake up your system a bit. Try dropping something from your eating program like rice, or bread, or potatoes, or all dairy products. And shake up your exercising routine. Try interval workouts. YOur body might be getting comfy with your current eating/workout plans! Good Luck on your next 21 day challenge! Well Ladies...I know my block ends tomorrow...but here's my regular Thursday weigh in.....183!!!!! Another pound since last week!!!WoooHOOOOOO SLowly but surely. I'll weigh in again Tomorrow just to finalize the End of my 21 day Challenge. Looks like we'll need to start another 21 challenge thread! Have a great day you wonderful bunch of 21 Dayers!!! |
Eydie, is back up! She went down, down for the count from a volley of deadly blows, but before we could get to "2!" she was back up, swaying dangerously from a horrible sugar daze that would have blinded most lesser beings if it didn't knock 'em flat :dizzy:, but, not Eydie, no way, she was UP!! and with a mean glint in her eyes that had the crowd hushed in awe! :o Who IS this person? Is she human or is she a warrior goddess? She is BOTH! And she is going to take them on again, the demons that try to cut her down. I think there's no stopping her this time, the crowd is behind her. WE'RE behind her!! Go, Eydie!! :cp: :cp:
Hotsplashes, :bravo: for you. You are almost there. Another pound zapped to annihilation! :fr: "Get away from me, ugly useless excess! How dare you try to deface this most exquisite, this most sacred body!!" I am waiting for the big kabang, Hotsplashes, the big 21 party!! BE THERE!! Well, I made it through Day 16 OK. It was tough. Eydie, the tough part of the day is ANYtime really where something upsets me or saddens me or actually induces any sort of emotion at all in me! and whereas before I would have reached for a rush of sugar and then more and more, now, because I am just NOT going to let any ?!#%$#!! piece of food get the better of me, I don't reach for the sugar and I just let those feelings have their little two-bit say and then it . . is. . GOODBYE, honeypies!! Get your butts outta here! So, it's already Friday here and I'm up for 17. Actually, I can barely move because I threw myself into the weights yesterday with a crazed kind of vengenance for having, though not eaten sugar, not having really been on top of the food going into my mouth. Back on track today. Salads and ultra-healthy stuff ONLY! There is strength in the gym and there is strength . . well, everywhere else and I am going to exhibit the same kind of strength outside the gym as in it. :strong: I am steamrollin' down to 21!! Shall we take a vote on starting a new thread? This one's getting a bit long and unwieldy. What do ya say? |
Made it thru Day 1! I've got to remember that the hard part about going off program is the next day it's hard to come back. maybe that would be incentive to just stay put?
Okay with me if someone starts a new thread--just let me know!:) |
Good morning ladies!!! I am proud to say that my carb binge last nite (pasta) did not affect my weigh in this morning...I am still 183...however...I am unbelievably bloated and I had the weirdest dreams last nite. I was Diana Ross who'd resorted to doing infomercials to support my "habit"...potato chips...then it flashed forward to Di/me living on the streets begging for potatochips...go figger...me and Diva Diana were bag ladies!!!lol that's what woke me up! So Tomorrow is going to be Day 1 of my Second block!~!YAYYYYYYYYYYy
