Ian - while I've been on this plateau, I've been reading everyone else's tips.
I just read yours for plateau. Break it up, exercise more and cut portions. I had no idea you had a long plateau. 5 months and counting for me.

Exercise more and cut portions. I don't do late night snacking, eating - zero.
Yep. More and less. Okay.

alaskanlaughter 04-23-2015 11:10 AM

flower we get less northern lights down here but I've seen them here before...however i'm not usually up late enough to see them and we have some street lights that interfer also...up north I've seen amazing(!!!) northern lights while driving on deserted roads at night, reds, greens, all kinds of colors!

Syckgirlsfv 04-23-2015 11:35 AM

flower LOL at the mouse story!!! that made me laugh

Diana Cody is most definitely a smart cookie! :D

kelijpa LOL at 'butt callous!"

We walked 4 1/2 miles last night instead of riding bikes, since the weather is kind of blah here the last day or two...it was gray all day yesterday and we were hoping for rain, but no dice. Sun's out now, though and it should be 72 today. I did burn around 450 calories so doing ok - down another .8 this morning but still have 2 pounds to go! I'm going to do a goal in my siggie, too!

B - trader joe's high fiber cereal/coconut milk
S - crispy coconut rolls, apple
L - leftover ground turkey/refried beans in tortilla
D - still thinking about stuffed chicken breasts...
Hopefully will ride 11 miles tonight with DH. Depends on the weather but a short ride will help.

G'morning!

W 152.4 (new low!)
B roasted veg, feta, egg and coffee w milk.
L /D roasted veg and duck curry mix

My three day work weekend is coming up and I am also on-call the next three nights. Thankfully, my hot tub is filled back up and heated now so hopefully when I feel stressed and need to relax I'll go out there instead of turning to food.

Time has definitely started to heal some of my food issues. This last week, I've made pizza for the family and it looked pretty but I had very little desire to eat it. The compulsion has been replaced with rational thought, and I knew it wouldn't be satisfying to me, so not worth it. However, I know things can turn on a dime so I'm not ever letting my gaurd down too much. It's just nice to know I can be in the same house as the pizza.

IanG 04-23-2015 01:28 PM

Up 1lb to 174.4lbs.

For breakfast I had sardines, anchovies and smoked oysters.

For lunch I had a salad and smoked oysters.

For exercise I did 60 minutes boxing before work and did 60 minutes weight training before lunch.

Will do flower! ;)

And thanks Mossy. I don't really see it as a plateau. More of a break where I just ate a lot of good stuff.

Syckgirlsfv 04-23-2015 05:54 PM

ugh, the weather today sucks! :( it's gray and just kind of yuck...but no rain. WE NEED RAIN! Not looking good for Cali, folks.

DH and I are going to walk again tonight...it's just too ugly out and too me it's also cold. 65 degrees is cold here! :brr:

We are going to walk to the Red Box and get a movie I reserved with Ryan Reynolds called The Voices. Don't know what to think yet, will report back tomorrow! Have a good one everbody!

oh, dinner is decided: Chicken cordon blue and steamed organic broccoli. yum!

Diana3271 04-23-2015 08:52 PM

Hi Everyone!

Tomorrow is my early day. Ya, know how much I lurve that. NOT!

CoolMom Good job with the lunch/dinner combo. Congrats on the new low! :carrot:

Ian Great job tweaking your lunch.

Magistra Have you ever heard of Contra Dancing? An online buddy of mine enjoys it.

Flower I hope setting the goal helps all of us. Good job avoiding the extra carbs.

Kelijpa Have a fun weekend. How far are you from home?

Mossy Ha Ha As soon as I get over one hormonal event it starts all over. I started all of this nonsense when I was 12. I am so over it. That poor lady.

Alaskanlaughter Hi

Syckgirlsfv Enjoy the movie.

Waving Hi all around! Enjoy your evening!

Hey all
Diana, am I reading your ticker right? You are in your Memorial goal weight range now? If so, congratulations ! I am sending good thoughts to help you make it through that early day.

Kelijpa, I hope you are dancing to the music at the festival !

Mossy hope you are doing well. And that you are able to soon move beyond the plateau :)

Alaskan I have afacination with the northern lights. I have heard that city lights will make them not as visibale. But in the northern wilderness I imagine they have an intense energy. Those colors and then the curtains. Oh it must be amazing to be in the midst of them when they are intense.

Syckgirl, Diana started a whole goal thing in the signature :D Sorry you didnt get any rain. Hopefully soon

CoolMom. Woohoo re the new low :cheer: . I hear ya, re not letting your guard down. For me it is that danger of falling off the wagon. Btw, your menu sounds really good... again.

Ian 2 hours of weight training and boxing? Amazing.

1 more lb lost. But I am not concinved it is fat weight. If it is real weight loss then that is 4 lost so far.
Today calories were around 900. Carbs very low
L: chicken sausage and salad 290
D: chicken and salad 240
Hot chocolate and coffee 240
Lemon protein frozen stuff 120

probably going to only go to family reunion for 2 days. Motel price is prohibitive because it is around the time college kids graduate. $200.00 per night for 4 nights is just way too much to spend. And thats with the AAA discount. I am not fond of having family reunion where I will miss most of it. Especially when I was the one whose idea it was. But I chose the wrong week to do it. (mother's day) 'Nuf complaiing

Diana3271 04-24-2015 06:24 AM

Good Morning, Everyone!

No yoga or stretch last night since I had to get up early this morning. No Oxycise this morning since I have stuff to do.

Calories for yesterday: 1485 + :coffee:
Weigh In: 176.8
I am up: 3.4 from bad eating on Tuesday and my TTOM

Flower Nope, I haven't updated my ticker in a while (just weighed and updated). I fell off the wagon the other day and ate all sorts of naughty but tasty things.

Have a wonderful Friday and start to your weekend.

IanG 04-24-2015 11:01 AM

Down 1lb to 173.4lbs.

For breakfast, I had sardines, anchovies and scallops.

For lunch I will be hosting a large picnic with meat, cheese, fish, salad, bread and dessert. I will try to be good.

For exercise, I did 60 minutes weight training before work and will run 5 miles before the picnic with the friends who I am sharing the picnic.

And I shaved my beard off.

Syckgirlsfv 04-24-2015 11:30 AM

Down .2...it's going very sloooooooooooow...but I'm ok with it. Still not going to drink any liquor this weekend. Maybe not wine, either. Absolutely nothing tonight because I have a midterm in the morning!

Flower and Alaskan I am obsessed with Aurora Borealis! I love the sky...and those colors! It's my dream to go to Iceland or Greenland to see them :D There is a casino bar inside Luxor called Aurora, after the lights. NOT the same thing, but cool!

B - trader joes high fiber cereal/coconut milk
S - crispy coconut rolls, blueberry fiber cake
L - 2 slices Ezekiel bread w/nitrate free deli chicken slices, organic banana
D - DH wants to order a pizza...we'll see. :jeno:

we will ride bikes tonight if the weather is better, but it's been yuck. If we don't ride, we will definitely walk. Last night we walked just under 3 miles, but prefer to do 4 if we don't ride. Sky is cloudy right now :(

MadeToThrive 04-24-2015 02:49 PM

Happy Friday! I hope everyone has a great weekend.

alaskanlaughter 04-24-2015 05:06 PM

flower and syckgirl - You can go to Fairbanks in the winter and out to Chena Hot Springs and they have outdoor hot tubs and other cool things to do while you view the northern lights on a dark winter night...I've been up there and it's awesome! There are also hot air balloon trips from Fairbanks in the summer, which I've always wanted to do

Also google up images by photographer Sebastian Saarloos....He is an incredible northern lights photographer who grew up in the Fairbanks area that I used to somewhat be acquainted with.

alaskanlaughter 04-24-2015 05:10 PM

I'm just doing the same old, same old here....which is why I don't post all that often....work, kid stuff, home chores, rinse n repeat every day :) I love it but it's not really post-worthy lol

I've added two things to my gym workout...in addition to a half hour of varying levels of difficulty on the resistance strider, I also added an ab machine at 50 and 60 pounds of resistance and began using the stair climber for a half mile at a time right now....the stair climber should help me be more prepared for my hikes up the mountain areas here...i've also added a one mile evening walk with my dog, which goes at a slow pace and it's not a workout but it helps my body deal with the evening food better too...i also got my bike out and have been biking

haven't seen a bear yet either! hoping not to run into one by myself!
