Need to start watching carbs more closely

  • I weigh every day and for 3 days in a row, I lost. Then when I weighed this morning, I didn't. It was the same number as the day before. I started thinking about what was different and I realized my diet yesterday was really carb heavy, so even tho I stayed around 1300-1400 calories, most of that was from carbs. Im guessing my body was burning the carbs for energy instead of fat. So, I'm gonna try to watch my carbs closer from now on. Sad. I really love carbs. :-\
  • It's not realistic to expect a loss every day. There will many days you will even see a gain. Weightloss is not linear. If you insist on weighing yourself daily then you should be prepared for those inevitable fluctuations otherwise it will drive you crazy.
  • I weigh every day, that's just something I want to do for me to monitor my progress. I know when I have a gain, it's most likely water weight and I don't think much of it, like this morning, I jumped up 2 lbs overnight. I was merely stating that I think I found a correlation between my lack of a loss and the amount of carbs I had the day before and thought the two might be related. Also, I was saying that I'm sad over the fact that I need to cut back on my carbs a little because I love them so much, not because I didn't lose.
  • It's rare but I completely agree with Palestrina on this. Even when I used to lose 4lbs a week I would always have a gain day each week. You never lose every day regardless of what you eat.
