New Goal

  • OK, so I've been MIA for a while and since my last log-on I've gained about 3 lbs, which is not so bad all things considering. HOWEVER, it is time to get my a$$ in gear and get down to business. I'm in my best friend's wedding next year and I need to lose a pound a week from now until then.

So, 37lbs from now until August 1st, 2015 and I will be so happy. Ideally, 5lbs/month but if I'm going to be realistic I think 1lb/week is totally achievable - even with Christmas/my Birthday right around the corner...

So, yeah! I'm getting back down to business and making this shiznat happen - I don't want to be the only fatty sticking out like a sore thumb in all of her bridal party pictures!

** side note, in life I'm a procrastinator - always have been (essays the night before still got me As and cleaning the house from top to bottom isn't really necessary unless you're having a party, right? lol). Perhaps this is one of the reason's I've never been truly successful losing weight? I mean, the wedding is NEXT August - my cheesecake craving brain makes it seem easy enough to start taking it seriously after the holidays, but the logical side of me knows that's ridiculous and I need to get it in gear NOW. How do you flip around that procrastinating mentality?
  • Procrastination has always been one of my biggest hurdles in life. What helps, and God knows I'm not saying I got this thing by any means, is to break any task into teeny babysteps. I tell myself I just have to do this one little thing, but I almost always do much more once I get started.

The other thing is to not overthink simple tasks. If it's easy enough, just do it, however imperfectly.

Things that I really hate to do, I try to do first, so I can tell myself it's all downhill from there.

Maybe you could tell yourself that you're going to adopt one helpful habit per day, not go on a diet immediately? Kinda sneak up on it and before you know it, you'll be chugging along towards your goal.

    Hope this helps.
