Weighty Issues #6

Welcome to the Weighty Issues thread!

We are a group of women who are trying to get through every day life with the help of each other. No topics are off limits, we discuss everything. These girls Rock!!!!

This month we are all going to do a challange also. We can go by pounds, inches, jean size, etc. Whatever makes you happy.

OK. I am going to try to get down to 135 this month. If I do then YEAH but if I dont then I am not going to get upset about it.

I was so busy yesterday that I only got a chance to check in in the morning. Sorry. I will try to remember what everyone is up to.

Kempy, Bye. Have a safe trip to Florida and HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!! I will miss you!

Noelle, Bye. Have a safe flight. I will miss you too. Have fun. Are you staying in the same house this time too?

Sandy, where did you go? Come back!!!

Tonya, You are so pretty!!!! I love your hair. Mine sucks because it will frizz if I dont put tons of hairspray in it. I called Tammy(my hair dresser) and said okay I am doing it this time. I always get there and back out of getting it done.

Chris, glad you are back.

Kids left yesterday and we were so busy with work and delivering and walking that I didnt get a chance to even log on last night to check in so now I am so behind. I hate that.

We went for our walk this morning and when we got by the riverwalk we saw 2 dead baby kittens. That upset me so bad. They were so small that I am assuming that someone dumped them out of the window while they were driving. One was on the side of the road just laying there and one was totally squished. We didnt even know there were 2 until Jay went over to check what that was. I cant stand it when people think they can just dump there animals. They were so tiny. You know when they are little and they have the tiny little tails? that is what these were. SAD!

Summerlover 08-01-2003 09:40 AM

Angie, I saw your before picture and I have to say that you are truly an inspiration to me. You are an amazing person. I just hope that I will do as well as you have. Please tell me how you did it. What diet did you use? How much exercise did you have to do? I would love to know so that I can follow in your footsteps. Thanks, Summer.:flow2:

Kempyd 08-01-2003 10:04 AM

One more day to play with you guys!

Tonya I think you should add weights i right now. I am a firm believer in them. I know that some of you here can't get to weights to use them but I think they have a greater benefit than not using them at all. Don't be afraid of them. Most woman are b/c they think that they will get big and bulky but we can't. Women don't have enough testosterone to make us bulky. YOu may feel like you are gaining weight but you are just adding muscle.

Angie did you hvae to tell that story? Now i am sad. I hate to see that kind of thing too. You and I are such animal lovers.

Have fun Noelle!

Summer I am syure that you can get great results just likee Anige. Just stick with us.

My goal for this challenge is to stick with this program. I will be starting my 2nd week of my 2nd cycle on August 18 and I know that is half way through this challenge. That is ok though b/c I am going to push through until I get to where I need to be.

Summerlover 08-01-2003 10:37 AM

Angie, yes, you should be happy that you have time without the kids. It is great for your marriage, and your kids are better off in the long run if their parents are happy. I just had 3 days alone with my husband for our 10th anniversary at Mohegan Sun Casino/hotel. We totally rekindled our romance (I was really starting to wonder if it were possible!) and had no time at all to gamble  Enjoy your time without them! Congrats on the RV. My inlaws have one in Florida, and one in Connecticut for the summer.

Kempy, have a safe trip. I'm sure you will find a romantic spot to celebrate. Happy anniversary!!!:hat:

Noelle, be healthy, and enjoy your trip. I hope it is everything you need it to be.

Svelte Chicky, you, like Angie, are a true inspiration. I hope that I am able to do what you amazing ladies have done.

Tonya, you look perfect. I'm surprised that you need to lose anymore. But obviously you know your body better than anyone else.

I will start the challenge on Monday, August 4th. I have too many things going on this weekend to get serious.

For inches, I will only be measuring my waist and hips, because I have skinny arms and legs. And there is no point in measuring my bustline, because it has always been very large no matter what my weight.

Age: 38
Height: 5'8"
Starting weight: 250 lbs.
Current weight: 230 lbs.
Goal weight: 160 lbs.
Fantasy weight: 145 lbs.

I plan to do weight watchers, since I know it best. I am gonna watch the processed foods and carbs as well. I just won't eliminate completely. This is gonna take me a long time, and it needs to be livable. If I make the diet too strict, I will rebel against it and fail.

As far as exercise goes, my life is too unpredictable to promise a certain amount of miles of walking or a certain amount of trips to the gym. My goal will be to "move" daily. I will make myself do something active daily...a walk, an exercise tape, a trip to the gym, a game of basketball with my daughter.

I'm sorry I post very sporadically, but I don't have time to do more than that. Please know that I care about everyone's struggles and successes. I try to catch up when I can. But, even when I can't log on, just know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers. Best of luck to us all!!!!!:grouphug:

Summer:flow2:

TonyaS 08-01-2003 11:38 AM

Summer, to be honest, I was hoping to do the easy thing, and lose the rest of my belly that is pretty much like bowl of jello at this point, by losing pounds... but after over a month of trying to lose any more pounds, I am breaking down and coming to the realization that toning excercise and weights are the only way for that. Same with my butt and thigh areas. The inches aren't even the problem, it's the fact that they are 100% flab :p Also Summer, I loved WW.. it was pretty easy for me to get what I wanted from it.

Thanks Kempy, I will look into that , and have fun in Florida!

Noelle, you have fun too! you guys make me jealous :p

Angie, try "bed head" control freak, it's a frizz control and straightener. My hair has a little bit of natural wave, and it get's frizzy if I don't try to control it with product and blowdrying. I love that stuff :) And there's nothing wrong with being excited about a break from kids!

Ok, so my goal is I guess to just tone up, maybe lose an inch or two, I want to wear a size lower in jeans and not have my stomach bulging out at the top :p

Have a good day girls!

chikitababe 08-01-2003 12:33 PM

Hey everyone! Ok, my challenges:

1. To reach 150....am at 153.5 w/o clothes, 155 with clothes(didn't realize clothes weighed so much!!)

2. Exercise 6-7 days a week, at least 40 minutes cardio, and Pilates 3-4 times a week.

3. Drink 96 oz of water a day.

4. Only allow my "cheat" meal on an exercise day. (Maybe this will help?)

That's all I can think of right now. Honestly, I am quite frustrated at my body and with myself right now, I have been working out soooo hard, not eating past 6 pm, not eating any sweets 6/7 days a week, drinking TONS of water, yet, here I sit between 153 and 155, ho hum.

I guess I just don't understand why I haven't lost any weight. I weigh almost the same as I did 4-5 weeks ago, BEFORE I began exercising 5-6 days a week! I would exercise here and there, but, at most, 30 minutes 3 days a week, and I ate AWFUL...candy, cookies, you name it, I ate it, lol.

Holly

TonyaS 08-01-2003 12:36 PM

Holly, either it's a plateau, or you built muscle excercising that much.. and it weighs more yanno ? :)

you are doing great!

GEMonster 08-01-2003 01:42 PM

Hey

Okay - I want to do the challenge and I am starting a new program with the "South BEach Diet" so my goal is to stick to that.

Heaviest:175
Current: 153
Goal:125
Goal for Challenge:145

and .5 inches from problem areas! :sumo: I want to squidgyless!

Kempy - Happy Anniversary!!!! :balloons: Enjoy Florida and the beach...

Angie - go short and don't back out - it is fun! I was always short haired and pixied until 2 years ago. I loved it. :goodvibes:

Noelle - safe trip! I hope you have relaxing time.

Tonya - I loved the pics! The goals are great to have and weights or someplace like Curves may be the answer (do yu have Curves in UT?)

Holly - I understand plateaus - still there - but chin up and keep with it! :strong:

Have a great weekend everyone if I don't talk with you again. I have 65 e-mails needing to be answered.

:cb: GEM/Summer :cb:

TonyaS 08-01-2003 02:55 PM

yeah I do.. but money is part of the equasion.. ugh :(

TonyaS 08-01-2003 04:28 PM

Ok, another question from me :p

for a while now, well ever since I started using fitday.com, I have been trying to stay under 1500 calories.. more around 1300. I think that is a pretty good number of daily calories no ? Well 1300 calories a day, usually puts me over my WW points. If I get the right amount of WW points, I am usually at 900 - 1100 calories.. which for me is a little low.. or am I totally off here ?

I also wonder how many fat grams is good for one day ? on fitday I put my goal to be no less than 20, and no more than 40. but I have no idea why I put those #'s  and I usually hit somewhere in there, and sometimes I am way under 20...

Summerlover 08-01-2003 04:30 PM

Tonya: I'm definitely concerned about what will happen with all the extra skin when I've lost my weight. It is bad enough to have saggy breasts after breastfeeding for a year! What I would love is to get a tummy tuck after I've reached goal weight. But, I am a teacher, not a movie star, so the likelihood of that is pretty small! And you know what? Even when I was a teenager and a normal body weight, I still had a little bit of a belly. I've never had a flat stomach.

Holly: You will get through this plateau. You sound so committed right now. Don't give up on your excellent attitude.

GEM: I'm very curious about the South Beach Diet. I almost bought the book about it today. But, I would like to hear more about it from someone who has actually tried it. Please let me know how it goes.

Summer:flow2:

TonyaS 08-01-2003 05:44 PM

yeah a tummy tuck and a breast lift would do me wonders!!! too bad I am not a movie star either :p

angieME 08-01-2003 07:01 PM

Summer, I just cut my calories and fat grams back. Unlike Chris, I LOVE fat free stuff. I cant get enough of them. hehe Seriuously though, fat free hot dogs are so good!! I cut 1 in half lengthwise and put half in each of 2 rolls with onions and I can not tell the difference. If I can save 28 grams of fat and tons of calories it works out good.

The first time I lost alot of weight I exercised for 2 hours everyday of the week. Right now I am walking 5-6 miles a day outside(once in the morning and once in the evening) 7 days a week. But when it gets cold outside I plan to start using my equipment in the house for 45 minutes or so every day. My house looks like a gym. I have an elliptical, recumbent bike and treadmill in my livingroom.

I get to pick up my RV tomorrow!! YEAH!!! I bet me and Jay sleep in it for the night to see if it is comfy. We are freaks.

SvelteChicky 08-01-2003 07:04 PM

OK, finally caught up on all the posts, man, you girls must sit here and chat all day long! Listen to me. I'm just jealous. I'd love to have more office time actually. I'd nver get anything done though.

I'm not sure what the challenge is though. I am at my goal weight, but I wanna keep it off, and continue exercising and all that. Not sure what I'd wanna do.

I can up my ab workout! --

Or, I could.....take more walks, even though I do my videos, the poor doggy ends up getting me, lazy, and less walks. So, how about that? More walks, and maybe more bike rides. To get me outta the house, and stuff.

Ok, bottom line: walk more, bike more, more abs, more WATER...

Thanks for the inspiration girls. I"m so glad I"m back here. You girls rock! -- I had a great day, and now hubby's off to get a movie at Blockbuster, pray it's something I wanna see! I think tomorrow we're gonna head to Lancaster, and sightsee, get soem homemade delicious stuff, a day trip. Oughta be rainy, but we'll plow on. Its worth it. -- chow babes!

angieME 08-01-2003 07:09 PM

Chris, Just make it your goal to maintain. That is the hardest thing to do anyways. It definately is a challenge.

Cosmopolitan Girl 08-01-2003 09:01 PM

I am angry!!!

Oh, I am surely up for the challenge everyone, If you are at a stoping point, I would highly suggest trying the SBD, it has worked well with me thus far!

The challenge...try not to beat up my pedometer!

It must be wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2.1 KM
2800 Acutally steps
3800 Total Steps

143 Kcal
:dizzy: :dizzy: :dizzy:
Eh???

Do you mean I have to walk at least five miles to get off 500+ calories!

I guess so.....

Hmmm, I wonder 2.1km to mile ratio??

Oh, I will do it......starting tonight, I will add a few miles!:dizzy:

GEMonster 08-01-2003 11:39 PM

CG
Just an FYI
1 mile = 1.6km

don't hurt your pedometer too badly!!!

jelynn 08-01-2003 11:59 PM

You gals are a chatty bunch today!!:gossip: :gossip: (love these new smilies!)

My sister has been in town so haven't had much down time (ie. computer time...) Good thing was that we walked every night and sheis 4 inches taller than me so I walked fastwer than I would have other-wise...
Bad thing was I over-indulged a bit...nothing like company around to make you think you deserve more treats than usual- what's up with that??

Anyway, I'm in this callenge...
I weighed at 236.6 this morning and would like to be a solid 230 by Sept. 1st. I know it's a bit ambitious, but I figure go high and really try for it than settle for less. Even if my body isn't ready to let go of this fat with me nursing (HELLOOOOO body- I have enough fat stores you don't need to hold on so tightly!! )- I will get more in shape and maybe jumpstart my metabolism a little for when I quit nursing.

Are we going to have a check in day where we report on our challenge? May have to read back a bit to see how we're doing this.

Well, I'm tired and need some zzzzzs. Have a great weekend!!

TonyaS 08-03-2003 11:20 AM

bump for later lol

SvelteChicky 08-03-2003 11:54 AM

Morning! Pretty quiet around here on the weekends, huh? Hope all is OP, and moving and grooving! It's humid as ever, I could melt even thiniking about going out there.

Back from church, and changing into clothes that breathe! Have a great day girls! See you later.

jelynn 08-03-2003 11:35 PM

Had a great family day today...after church we went for a drive and ended up at a Provincial Park about 90 minutes away. Walked around the lake and enjoyed nature- my boys thought it was great. Had a treat on the way home:T, but also walked for 40 minutes tonight after we got back. Feels great to be re-committed :)Hope you are all having a great weekend

Emily :flow1:

Cosmopolitan Girl 08-04-2003 01:46 AM

Oh, it is too darn hot!

Nearly 39c!!!!!!!! UGH!

I have both ACs running! Am I so weak???

Upstairs is the hottest! I get direct Sunlight in my Condo......No shade! No trees! Except behind me!

I have a two room AC running upstairs in the loft which has three rooms and a hallway! Fiancee complains a bit...but ...One month or two will not break our bank!

It is hot , hot, hot!

Cosmopolitan Girl 08-04-2003 01:47 AM

Oh, by the way...I did 3.43km today...

I believe that is nearly thress miles or so???

I made sure I did not at early AM before the sun got too hot!

chikitababe 08-04-2003 07:22 AM

Good morning! My only access to the computer is at work for now, mine at home took a dump :(. We can't spend the $$ to buy a new one right now because we are trying to get approved for our home loan.

I hope you all had a GREAT weekend! Mine was soooo busy with this land we're trying to buy, and home construction.

Food wise I did pretty good. We went to Red Lobster on Saturday, and I had 1/2 pound crab legs (no butter), a caesar salad, and mashed potatoes (no butter). Yesterday was a little different. I had 1/2 cup of fat full ice cream and 1/2 cookie. Today is Monday, so I am putting myself back on track.

Good news is that I weighed in this morning at 152! The first weekend I ended not starting back at 155.5. Now, hopefully this trend will continue.

Next Sunday is my daughter's 2nd birthday party, so I will take that day as a cheat day, and "try" to avoid junk until then.

Hope everyone has a good Monday.

Holly

angieME 08-04-2003 08:31 AM

My food was bad this weekend. We got the RV and I have to reclean things when I get them so I spent the weekend cleaning the RV so there was no time to cook so.....

But hey, now I can plan my vacation!!YEAH!!!! I cant wait.

Sandy, Have you been to the Desert Dunes of Maine? Is it neat or a waste of time?

Well, since I overslept this morning I have to get a deposit done up for the bank and take a shower.

GEMonster 08-04-2003 09:22 AM

~Monday Morning~

Good Morning all!

I hope Kempy and Noelle are having nice getaways. :dancer: I can't wait for mine in November.

I hope all had good weekends! Mine wasn't bad - even with a wedding thrown in! I started the SouthBeach Diet and it is hard at first. I miss my breads and fruits but it is only for 2 weeks so I can deal.

Holly good luck with the home loan! I am excited for you!:twirly:

Angie so glad you got the RV! What fun you will have. :joker:

CG keep up the walking! 1.6km = 1 mile! Way to go!

Stay positive and OP all!

TonyaS 08-04-2003 11:10 AM

Morning ladies :)

I did ok over the weekend, Saturday was my official "I don't care" day, and I didn't..

yesterday I did better, but this morning when I got on the scale, I weighed 129. Which, I did start my period, finally, yesterday. I had over a week of PMS this time.. it was hard. But my tummy is all bloated up today, so that's probably why.

Hope you all have a good Monday, well as good as it can be anyways. :)

Summerlover 08-04-2003 01:26 PM

 What a busy weekend! I spent all of Saturday at my in-laws' about 90 minutes from home. The traffic was terrible on I95, so the ride both ways was a drag. It has been Hazy, Hot, and Humid for days, and Saturday was miserable. We stayed indoors and played Monopoly, Dominos, & Uno. It helped pass the time, and as a result, my mother-in-law didn't drive me as nuts as usual. We ate shrimp and pizza for lunch and sesame chicken with egg drop soup for dinner. Chinese food always bloats me...I hate that feeling. Yesterday, the weather was just as yucky, so we stayed in again and cleaned. I overate knowing that I would be officially be getting back on program today.

age: 38
height: 5'8"
starting weight: 250
current weight: 230
goal weight: 160
fantasy weight: 145
waist: 44"
hips: 54"

Breakfast: cheerios, skim milk, sweet 'n' low
Lunch: 4 oz. tuna in water, 1 oz. lite velveeta, 2 plums

So far, I've only used 8 WW points! I'm allowed between 24-30.

Emily: You are so smart to exercise to make up for eating extra treats. I wish I had the discipline to do that. Any exercise I get, I have to force myself to do.

Cosmo Girl: I understand how uncomfortable this weather has made you. I hate hiding in my house to stay in the A/C. I'd much rather be in the back yard gardening or swimming in the pool. It has just been too oppressive that it is hard to breathe.

Holly: Congrats on doing so well over the weekend.

Angie: Congrats on getting the RV. I'm the same way about cleaning.

GEM/Summer: You are stronger than me...beginning a new diet the same weekend as a wedding.

Tonya: Feel better. I will be in your shoes in another week.

Noelle & Kempy: Miss you guys.

Summer:flow2:

jelynn 08-04-2003 03:40 PM

Well, didn't do so good for lunch...but it could have been a lot worse so won't beat myself too badly. It's Heritage Day here in Alberta and we went to an ethnic food festival for lunch. They had Polish, Hungarian, Japanese, Vietnamese, Chinese, Italian, Dutch, German...I think thats it! Hard to choose! We ended up with a german sausage, and small plate of vietnamese (spring rolls, wings, and noodles) and a small serviing of lasagna. It was all really good and I really just a few bites of it all- maybe I didn't do bad-- will need to go an an extra long walk though for those deep-fried spring rolls!

Summer- isn't it the worst when the weather starts getting to you? We don't have the humidity, but the heat as been awful (with no a/c!)- finally yesterday and today have been a bit lower than seasonal and it's been a great break. Hot again tomorrow though. The games sound fun- I love UNO and Dominos!
Points are looking great so far- good job!

GEM- good luck with the SBD- I've known a couple people doing it w/ great results. Keep us posted!

Angie- I don't think I ever congratulated you guys on getting the RV- COOL! So where all are you going to take that thing? Florida first??

Holly- Good job at the weigh-in!! And Happy Birthday to your little girl!

CG- 39- is TOOOO hot! Good job getting your walk in! kms to miles is 1.6 km= 1 mile.

Well, I'm off to sort through all my kids clothes- a job I've been procastinating tooo long! Later!

SvelteChicky 08-04-2003 04:53 PM

Evening ladies. I'm caught up again on the posts. I did ok on the weekend. I"m really into farmers markets lately, and fresh foods, fresh fruits, fresh veggies. I'm loving corn on the cob... I"m usually the type that loves grocery store prepared stuff, but since getting my new healthy self, I've been fanatical about eating whole foods, fresh farm foods, things that you know where they came from.

I love just sitting aruond in the summer, eating strawberries. I'm just falling in love with food, but in a healthy and good for me way. It's exciting to like things that are good for me, instead of dreaming about spagetti dinners with all the sides. I'm sooo excited for our vacation at the ocean, aug 17-24th. there will be 9 of us, all in one condo there, and I'm not sure how one bathroom will go, but i'll be ont he beach, so i'm fine. I'll take my boogie board, and my 2 piece (!), and finally feel good about myself, at the beach. I'm a beach bunny, but have, since my teens years, dreaded the unvieling, so to speak. When you have to take off the shorts, the towel, the whole nine yards, and you're stuck with the body and the sight taht's left over. I've always dreaded it, but this year, i'm sooo excited! I've never felt good about myself, so this will be my first vacation that i'm thin!! And, Man, i'm gonna love it. ope I odn't gin weight, but I've already told everyone, 'let's go grocery shopping and get lots of fresh foods, and haul 'em all out to the beach with us, and eat watermelon and strawberries, and have some WOW choips and stuff.

Hubby's calling me for dinner. Smells yummy. Be back later. Man, i"m dreaming of vacation...

Cosmopolitan Girl 08-04-2003 07:38 PM

Hi there!

Ok, I did it today was 4.08 Km....Getting there!

Gem: I am on the SBD as well, you are right , the first week is nearly unbearable! Second week, is a breeze! What I like most is the fact I can eat, feel full, and not deprived..after the first week is over of course!

Yes, it has been awfully hot! Hummering near 35-41 c, that is approximately mid 90s to 104!

I try to get my walking to be fit done before the sun has set, at least before 9 I like to finish! I could feel the heat coming from my legs!

jelynn: Oh gosh yest...39 is way to hot, but it does get up to 41 some days! I am off and abroad at work right now, and the condo here has an upstairs...which is like an oven, so I kicked the AC up a full notch! If I keep it at 27-28c it should not consume to much energy!
1.6 KM = 1 mile...Lets see I did 4.08 Km today...

I am up two notches...So that would be...2.8 miles approximately...

My goal is 6 miles a day or 12,000 steps!

Yikes

Summerlover 08-04-2003 07:47 PM

Svelte Chicky: Congratulations for looking how you have wanted on the beach. I started getting serious too late for that to happen for me this summer, but by next year, I should be there. I won't be wearing any two piece though, I had an emergency C-section leaving me with a long scar beginning at my belly button and ending at my "whozits." Plus I have ugly stretch marks, faded, but still obvious. But just to wear a reasonable sized full piece bathing suit would thrill me to no end! I've been enjoying cantaloupe and plums. I am allergic to strawberries. You've got me craving corn on the cob. Tomorrow, I'm hitting a farmer's market!:hun: I wish I could eat WOW potato chips, but they give me violent diarrhea!!! So I stick with baked lays.

I discovered the most delicious diet ice cream I've had in a long time. I read about it in a magazine, and it was rated highest among others like it. Slim Fast fudge bars are to die for!!!

I was 100% on program today. I ended my day with chicken baked with tomatoes, topped with fat-free ricotta and mozzarella, with spinach on the side. I am trying to cut back on carbs, not eliminate, just cut down. So no pasta for me tonite. I didn't really miss it, because I ate lots of tomatoes instead.

Summer:flow2:

SvelteChicky 08-04-2003 08:03 PM

Congrats on being on plan, that chicken dinner sounds delicious. I too have stretch marks, thankfully, they end right at my waistband.. miracle. The two piece is actually a tankini, but Istill get credit for it beign 2 separate pieces. It's the mind game we play, huh?

Did my aerobics. Sweating like crazy. Tired as all get-out. Hubby's coming down with some kinds of flu bug, so that's fun to live with. I deserve it, after my episode with strep a month or so ago. Poor guy was my little 'Hazel' for a couple weeks. I was miserable, and made everyone know it. I'ma baby.

So far this week is Op for me. No big upsets. Gonna have my bowl of Honey Bunches of Oats, settle in for some TV,a nd enjoy day one of this week. Chow Bellas!

angieME 08-05-2003 08:55 AM

My food yesterday was BAD!! Exercise was nonexistent!! I need to get a move on it so I can look hot for my vacation. I did get up and do 3 miles this morning but the food today promises to be bad as well....

SvelteChicky 08-05-2003 09:10 AM

Angie, I'm wanting to see a more update pic of you. I oticed your weight, and I wanna see how much you've changed. Any recent photos? man, you're in the 130's, remember being in the 160's, and wondering if we'll ever get under that mark? You look great! Congrats and dn't beat yourself up over a cheat day, and 3 miles walking is fantastic. I can't do that. -- BTW, you are so close to your goal, you can probably taste it.

Day 3 - SBD

Bonjourno!

So far so good on SBD!:T I have not felt straved at all but I miss breads but I keep telling myself it is just 2 weeks...it is just 2 weeks...it is just 2 weeks (I feel like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz)
I took my a dog an 45 minute brisk walk but like a smart person I forgot my pedometer:p ...oops! Though from coming off WW this is different and my head is still in WW mode sometimes...points and all...all these diets or lifestyle changes can get you dizzy :dizzy:.

Support from this board helps -That is another reason you all are wonderful! :encore:

CG - thanks for the encouragement. It is nice to hear that it is not as hard as I may think...:chin: maybe I should stop thinking so much!!!!

Angie please stop beating yourself up. You have worked so hard and come so far! Having a day where you slip up is normal - what makes the difference is you don't go back to an old lifestyle. I know you won't! You like where you and have come soo far to get there - inspirational! :bravo:

Svelte Chicky congrats on the tankini! It is nice to see a success story and a reward! I hope vacation is even sweeter because you can share that success with others and not be ashamed to disrobe at the beach! I understand about fresh fruits and veggies! Farmers Markets are the absolute best - luckily I live down the street from a whole foods market!:D

Summer I may have to get recipe ideas from you - that dinner sounded yummy!!!!:hun:

Jelynn I love ethnic food festivals - congrats for staying strong and not going crazy! Some foods are worth the extra walk!

To all - keep your chin up - the challenge is worth the results!

Great day to all!

GEM/Summer: You are truly a "gem," no pun intended. I love your quotes...so much wisdom in them! :smug: My chicken is sooooo easy! Pre-heat the oven to 350. Yes, I know, turning on the oven in this weather is insane! Anyway, I use boneless, skinless chicken breasts. I spray a glass baking pan with PAM. Then I pour a 28 oz. of whole canned tomatoes in. I enjoy smushing them with my hands. That part is optional. You can bread the chicken if you want, but when I'm avoiding carbs, I skip the breading. Add the chicken. Pour a little of your favorite jar sauce to cover the chicken. I like Classico 4 cheese. Sprinkle garlic all over the contents of the pan. Spoon fat free ricotta all over the pan, especially on the chicken. Add more sauce. Cover the pan with fat free mozzarella. Bake at 350 for 45-60 minutes. Deeeeelicious!!! :T

Svelte Chicky: Maybe I would be able to eventually wear a tankini too. I pretty much gave up on a 2 piece because of scars and stretch marks, but the worst of it is below the belly button. We will have to see, but thanks for the inspiration!

Angie: You are so fabulous and so inspirational. All you showed us is that you are human just like the rest of us. I have no doubt that you will continue to be successful.

I did great at breakfast and dinner, but had lunch at a friend's. I unfortunately had to eat what was put in front of me...a cheeseburger and fries. I didn't eat all of the fries, and I made sure to put lots of lettuce on the burger. It is so hard to be at the mercy of other's cooking. Tomorrow's another day. I am not defeated. And the best part is that I didn't cheat at dinner...I got right back on program. :D

Hi Everyone!

Hello Everyone!

How are you doing Gem on the SBD? Are you still in Phase 1?

Angie: Yes, do you have any updated photos you are truly inspirational!

Summer: Me too, it is difficult not to eat at a friends house or eatery, but I think if it this way, I let them know I can not EAT refined sugars or carbs, it makes me sick. It is your body not theirs. I had one friend trying to nearly shove a snickers down my throat becasue he was having one!

Err! I am pretty selfish when it comes to this, if I would have eaten that snickers, it would have shown on my body not theirs!

LOL! Sorry I am grouchy today...PMS! Coming soon!

SvelteChicky: How many days a week do you work out. I try for at least 6!

I had an awful headache so I did not do it this AM, my walking. I hope to do it this PM, this way I will not miss one day out of seven...pretty severe huh?

3 mile walk is pretty tuff especially when it is some what brisk at times! And in this wheather! Woo Ha!

CG

Still in Phase 1! Day 4 to be exact...not as hard as i thought but there are times I want dark chocolate or just piece of bread...the sf jello seems to help curb the fruit cravings.

What are your favorite things to eat and are you still in Phase 1?

Summerlover thanks for the recipe it may even work in this phase of the diet! yipee!!!

Talk to the rest of you bellas later!
Kali Spera!
