Default September impatience .....

I'm dumping impatience. We are breaking up (this month). I live on instant gratification and that not how weight loss works. At least not for me. I'm tired of weighing myself daily. My brain KNOWS I'm not going to see a 3 kg drop one day to the next but my brain doesn't care the reasoning behind it. I reconfigured my weight on MFP and my daily calorie went from 1450 to 1200. eh?! So I'm doing my own mini challenge this month.
1. Weigh only at end of month
2. Fit into a new flippy skirt size uk14 by weigh-in, I'm uk size16 (on sale half off and pair with black tights and black flats?
3. More fruit continue run add additional 2 days a week. Rain or shine

Ok. I figured if I say it out loud and tell my 3fc peeps then I have to make myself accountable. Any thoughts? Words of wisdom? John and Ian I value your bro wisdom, be easy tho

I agree about the instant gratification, I'm always so impatient that I sometimes get mad and we all know how bad negative thoughts are.
Weighing yourself daily probably doesn't help and I'm sure that you'll be motivated to stick through until the end of the month!! I'm sure you'll be able to fit in your skirt, I know how rewarding that can feel.
Good luck and take care!!

I've been incredibly impatient too. I'm going to be more vigilant about what I'm doing (tracking food, exercise, etc) and only weigh in once a week. Hopefully the weight will work itself out as I continue to do the right things.

A new skirt sounds great! a cute outfit can be a really motivating goal

Hey, at least you're willing to wear a skirt. I think the last time I wore one is when jean skirts were in style, probably late 1980's. I won't wear shorts either. Capri's is all the leg you're getting from me. I'm too pasty and have these awesome spider veins on the sides of my upper thighs from pregnancy. So hot.

Novangel: back in college when I wore a skirt one day I stopped at my friends room to get breakfast and she said "are you wearing white tights?" yeah... no, just my natural leg color! I always feel self conscious wearing things that show my legs. I understand!

I did get my percentages today off the scale, and realized that even though I've only lost 2 pounds, I lost 1.8 percent body fat and gained 1% muscle, so definitely moving in the direction I want even though my actual weight has been coming down at a snails pace. Just more proof that I need to stay off the scale except for once a week.

I do weigh daily, but sometimes it leads to game playing -- a sort of gastronomical Russian Roulette. Weighing weekly puts more of an emphasis on behavioral changes and consistency of effort.

I TOTALLY get you on the instant gratification thing. I think the first time I went strictly low sugar, I lost 9lbs in 2 weeks and well, now that I'm closer to normal weight, I need to realize that 1lb in a week is still great since it's still a loss.

Somehow comparing this to my bf who has lost 4lb in the same amount of time isn't helping much, though I do appreciate that he's willing to focus on cutting some weight himself.

I only weigh a few times a month. Everyday is insane because 90% of the time it's sodium bloat and we're pissed all day about the number. Weigh once a week naked in the AM.
