Default "Food babies" when you get close to goal??

So I think my BMI is on the boarder of overweight, but what I mean is there is something I've noticed when I am no longer quite big that I do not like.

When I eat a large amount, and I don't even mean binge, but just a big meal or too much, my belly is noticeably bloated and sticking out and my pants get snug.

When I was pretty big, there was more fat in my mid-section and a big meal, small meal, didn't matter and pants fit the same. Now I can say that my middle looks pretty slender, and I like it, but I get a rounded belly, more so nearer the top where my actual stomach is, and my pants feel snug. I've heard thinner women, included fitness model Maria Kang refer to it as a "food baby". She actually posted a picture last week of her food baby after a big splurge meal. And she is noticeably thicker and rounder in the belly after her big meal.

Anyway I find it annoying because I will not go the rest of my life without eating large meal. Actually today I made homemade granola bars! And I skipped lunch and dinner!! Because they were just sooooo good! (healthy too, they can definitely stand in for a meal) but I also usually eat low carb, so they were a real splurge for me. I didn't over eat, but I ate more than I would have if it were something else, and now I look like 4 month pregnant!! I'm guessing it will be gone by morning, but I'm a little worried since I have to work tomorrow and I wear dress pants and I don't want them to be snug...

Anyway notice this as well??

I get several inches difference in my upper waist/ribcage measurement now, when I eat a big meal. There is a huge difference in the morning versus night not only in wright but in girth, because of the food moving through my digestive tract. It may have been there at my higher weights but my clothing wasn't tight enough nor my body slim enough for me to notice.

I definitely get food babies For me, they usually start to go down within a few hours of eating, after I've started digesting.

I also get it. Its really annoying and I kind of plan my outfits around if I'm going to eat a big meal or not sometimes Its always gone by the morning though thankfully.

I definitely notice, but more with foods that make me gassy.

It may be an odd thing to celebrate as an achievement, but slimming down to the food baby point is definitely an accomplishment. I started noticing this more around 145 for me... 10 lbs heavier now, I don't see it as much.

A few years ago I thought food babies were over-exaggerated hyperbole by super-thin women. I just remember being kinda mindblown last summer - "wait, this is a real thing?" I do still think it's something that's much more noticeable on your own person than to observe on somebody else's body - maybe that's some consolation? Anyway, congrats that you are having this issue.

Yep! I remember that all thorugh high school we had homecoming dance on Thanksgiving night, so I hardly ate every year to make sure I fit into my dress!

I really don't fluctuate much at all, but you can see a visible difference from day to day depending on what I eat.

Yes very visible. The top sticks out further than the bottom, in my case

I guess I'm not the only one...My food baby went away thankfully by morning and my work pants fit fine. It makes me a little nervous though. Now I have to be aware that this happens. Wearing a nice and fitted outfit and going out for a big splurge dinner for example is not going to end well. lol
