Are you going to Florida again Kempy?

Yep, I have totally and completely fallen off the wagon. I will get back on after the party a dinner though. I promise. It is SO damn easy to fall back into those habits. I was just telling Jay that I guess I havent learned anything because I am only eating junk right now because I dont want to get too good and just have to screw up this weekend. Like that makes any sense at all!!! I am a numbnuts!!! I'll get it but as of this morning I have bloated back up to 142.5 pounds. YIKES!!! Monday I will be back in the swing of it again.

It is so freaking hot today!!! I have been washing the carpets in my house all day and I almost died on my morning walk from the heat. But I am glad it is back. The pool is feeling awesome!!

Summerlover 06-25-2003 08:19 PM

BIRTHDAYS, GRADUATIONS, WEDDINGS, RETIREMENT PARTIES, ANNIVERSARIES, VACATIONS, AAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!!

We've all been overwhelmed with a very celebratory month. I think rebuilding the wagon is a great idea! I'm shooting for Sunday as my day to get back on. I had frozen margaritas and party food last night to celebrate my LAST DAY OF SCHOOL!!!!! Yes, it is officially summer for me now. I have a birthday party on Saturday. So, Sunday seems like a good time to begin again. I went to the beach today, but had to leave after an hour. The DEP kicked us off because an endangered species (bird) layed eggs on the beach and they were hatching.

I went to my gastroenterologist yesterday. His scale is eight pounds higher than mine!!! Why is it that doctors' office scales are always higher than home scales. They are even higher than my scale was at Weight Watchers. I still showed a weight loss, but not as much as I wanted to show him.

Peekaboo, thanks for the info re: adoption. Oops:o

Kempy, thanks for the advice re: tag sale pricing.

Angie, you need to videotape your adorable dog for America's Funniest Home Videos!

Noelle, YES I'M FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!

Holly, Hope you are feeling better. I've had two endoscopies, one awake (**** on earth), and one asleep (not too bad). Take care.

Enjoy the summery weather everybody!!! Summerlover:smug:

angieME 06-26-2003 09:16 AM

HOT!!HOT!!!HOT!!!! I did my walk this morning at 5:30 this morning and I still was so HOT!!! It is so hazy and yucky outside that I dont even want to go out to get in the pool. I cooked my blueberry and chocolate chip cakes this morning so now all I have to bake while we work is whoopie pies and croissants. It wont help much but at least I can get the cakes cut and wrapped early.

The kids swam until 9:30 last night because my SIL is up from New Hampshire and her kids came down for a while. We sat out on the deck and got chewed alive by the mosquitos.

When is this week going to be over. I liked last year because I talked the kids out of having a party so I didnt have to worry about the dieting issues involved. Maybe next year.

Sandy, I saw your post on your other thread about your son and just wanted to tell you that I am dealing with the same issues with Brit who is also 11. I think it is just the way kids are today. I know I never lipped back at my dad and he never spanked us(except for the time we opened all of our gifts early) He just had a tone of voice that we knew not to push it. Brit does everything to egg on arguments with me all the time. On the bright side we only have 7 more years and then they will be grown up.

Have a great day everyone. I cant wait until this week ends so I can get back to my normal routine and post all the time, etc.

Kempyd 06-26-2003 10:05 AM

Angie how hot is it up ther and you guys have mosquitoes too? For some reason I just thought they stayed down here with us. Of course with all of the rain we have lots of them. I am worried about my party next Tuesday b/c of them. We have a huge fan that we are going to set up b/c if there is a slight wind they can't fly in it so I am going to try to keep them away from the guests.

Yes I am going to Florida but only for a few days. I am dying to hit the beach. Not really ready yet for the bathing suit but oh well what are ya going to do? Joe and I talked about the suit issue last night. He asked what was wrong with the one that I had and I told him that things just aren't as smooth as they used to be so now it is time to cover them up. Sweet guy, he has no clue what I really look like. He has those love goggle on.

Summer you will have to hop on the wagon early and be ready top pull me on when I get back from vacation. There is no way that I can make promises about staying on track while I am gone.

This thread has slowed down some. Come on guys, I have got nothing but free time today and I am ready to chat so lets get the typing going.

melekalikimaka 06-26-2003 03:12 PM

Hiya chickies. I can't believe I didn't get to post here yesterday. Must've been busy! Well, I'll try to make up for it today. Note: Some ranting and child-talk ahead :^: . I took my son to visit another preschool yesterday...wrote about it in my journal. The bottom line is that I'm not 100% comfortable with the child/teacher ratio, which is 25 kids to 1 teacher, 1 aide. Of course that's a state mandate--but it doesn't mean it's right. I know that once he starts kindergarten the ratio may be about the same or higher (if he goes to public school  ) , but he's only 4 ya know? I guess I have a hard time seeing my baby grow up, and I don't want him lost in the shuffle. I'm still calling around other centers but a lot of them are already full and/or have really bad admin staff answering the phones which make me balk before I even get a chance to see the place. First impressions are important to me. But, I don't have much time to find another school and if I don't find one that's suitable, I may just keep him home until I do. I feel like I'm being picky, but hey, it's my child and my child's well-being...Summer, how's the ratio at your place? You sound like a wonderful, caring teacher--what's your take on what to look for in a childcare or preschool? I know I sound like one of those annoying, paranoid parents :o .

Kempy when are you leaving? I guess you guys just drive over? Must be so nice to jump in a car and go somehwere far...*sigh*
Have fun at the beach. You know, I don't think Joe has love blinders on--I think you're very pretty and you've got some height on your frame to carry your weight well. I'm not dissing your concerns, it's just that we women almost always have a distorted body image of ourselves, you probably look 100% better than I do in a suit. I'm kinda stocky built from head to toe, not outrageously large in anyone area, just large all around. I think I look like a tank in a suit--that's why I wear (if I even go to the beach or swimming), a tankini--aptly named, don't you think  ?

Angie, can you send me some whoopie pies? The bottom of my bathing suit is starting to get a bit loose and I need to fill it up again (haha, sorry for the visual) . What time does the sun go down at your place? Was there still daylight at 9:30 pm? I guess so, since you're way up north. The sun comes up at 5:30 am in teh summer and goes down at about 7:30 pm here--and that's late for us. I remember being in Seattle a few summers ago and kinda marveling at how the sun was still out at 9:30 pm...me, a country hick in the big city

Summer, I would boycott stepping on the scale at the doctor if the difference was that much from my home scale. Sometimes I think drs offices don't get their scales calibrated at all or have them set higher, much higher, so they can always tell you, "you should lose some weight" .... whatever. I'm so ill, I have my home scale set 4 lbs higher to match my drs scale, that way, no suprise gains when I go in for a check up.

Sandy hope you're having a great summer. We must be boring you...or maybe something I said? Where are you? Come out and say hi.

Holly, I have a pedometer (which I haven't been using lately) which I bought from the Sports Authority. It was about $15-20 and besides counting steps walked and mileage, I program my weight and stride length into it and it does calories burned. Pretty handy tool--especially with that so-called 10,000 steps-a-day recommendation. I don't use mine because I need to reset it again but I can't find the darn instruction sheet. But I pretty much always walk the same route, sometimes in reverse for variation so I already know what my miles are.

Emily how are you doing? Can you please check to see if my wagon seatbelt is securely fastened? Summer is such a hard time for weight loss...so many outdoor BBQ's and good stuff to eat like ice cream for cooling off or apple pies...I need to go pick up a watermelon but I can't find one cheap enough--last one I saw was $.38 a lb, too pricey I say. I want $.20 or lower (yeah, call me a cheapskate, I don't care) .

Shoot, I did great with my food yesterday, then Rick comes home around 8 pm with sushi... I ate it, a whole roll of maki sushi w/tuna :ink:

peekabooangel 06-26-2003 04:10 PM

I'm here....

I have been lurking, but nobody really has been posting much of anything....including me. I can't believe Angie and I wanted heat a few weeks ago, now we got so much of it we can't stand it!!! It was 95 by the seashore today and not a bit of breeze!!!

Angie: Thanks for the advice. I just don't know what to do with the boy. I can't spank him, he's a big boy and well, I just don't see what good it will do to inflict pain on a child. I mean yes I spank (whack) my 5 year olds bottom but thats different than the spankings I got as a kid, not that I got that many. He was better today, but his dad made him go out on the lobsterboat and do some work instead of just laying around the house all summer. Oh well, this too shall pass they say.

Noelle: Public school here is pretty okay with the ratio....there are usually 10-12 kids per teacher, thats better than some. Wish you luck.

Kempy: Enjoy Florida....but I bet it's really really hot

Well gotta scoot....
Hugs,
sandy

jelynn 06-26-2003 07:38 PM

I'm here...I've been trying to play with the kids and catch up on house-stuff since I was so busy last week...
Still not quite on the wagon, but slowly getting there I think (don't I sound committed-lol!) I may be trying too much at once: lose weight, get out of debt, organize home and yard...a bit overwhelming and then I just want to lose myself in ice-cream or Burger King. Funny thing, while I was pregnant- I did so good with the eating- craved the healthy stuff more than the junk and really thought I had changed my ways. Proving not to be true. At all. So it's behavioral and I'm going to have to be really diligent on changing some habits.

I love the summer nights! Here it is still light at 10:30- well, by then it is getting dark...I stay up way too late though. The kids are going to bed easier than I though with the lightness...they can't claim "Scared of the dark!"

I'm so jealous of you guys that live by water! I've always thought that would be soooo nice! Here we have a few rivers and man-made lakes. Not the same.

What exactly are whoopie pies?

Sushi: yum I've only had the maki tuna, salmon and cucumber (yeah- that probably doesn't count) We have a great Japanese restaurant here. What other kinds should I try?

Well, DH and boys are at swimming lessons and I should get something made for dinner...
Hope to see more posts tomorrow! I will do better :)
Emily

melekalikimaka 06-26-2003 10:36 PM

Hi Emily....ya know, I had my first (and only) kid 4.5 years ago and I'm still eating like I'm pregnant--and that's not a good thing  ! heehee. It's great that you're spending time with your kids. The days pass by so quickly and next thing you know, they're almost grown! I took my son (4 y.o.) and neice (10 y.o.) to the public library and we got some books to read. I went over the proper library etiquette and everything before we went in and still my son's "whispering" could be heard across the room :o . We sat in the reading room section so we could actually make a little noise. It was fun and it brought back memories of when my mom used to take us kids to the library.

Don't think I've ever swam in a lake. I've lived on this tiny little rock for almost all of my life and get this, never learned how to swim. Anyway, it's pretty much 20 minutes to the beach anywhere on the island. Cool huh?

Let's see, whoopie pies are a Maine specialty--Sandy or especially Angie could tell you more about them...I know I started drooling the last time Angie mentioned them. Oh, and sushi? Well, since we're surrounded by water here, I'm into the real Japanese stuff, raw. If you're kinda squeamish about it, but willing to try something new, I'd try the toro sushi. This is one of the best quality grade fatty tuna which is so smooth, it almost melts like butter in your mouth...I love the stuff. If you want to browse a little, check this out : http://www.greatworldchefs.com/sushitwo.html

OK, I've got to get dinner started myself, have a great night all.

peekabooangel 06-26-2003 10:51 PM

Angie, you have got to take a pic of the woopie pie and post it for these girls to see what a true woopie pie looks like. Please dont' make me make them....I would have to help eat them....:dizzy:

Emily~~~ Angie by the way is our resident baker....and the pictures she has posted are good enough to eat....

Kempyd 06-27-2003 10:19 AM

It is finally Friday!!!!

I will be leaving work at 2:30 but the race is on to clena the house. My MIL is in New Orleans today and she will be at my house on Monday so we need to go to the fish store (20 mins away) to get a new light and more fish. I feel bad for the one that I have in there right now. The light has been out for a month and Joe killed the other fish in there by accident. He does get natural light b/c I have tons of windows in my house but he is tropical and he needs more than what he gets.

Noelle I miss going to the library when I was little. I remember going for story time when I was still 12. It was great!

I am glad that all I have to see is pictures of the yummy things you guys cook that way I can't devour them.

Summerlover 06-27-2003 12:28 PM

Noelle, the ratio for preschool in CT is 2 teachers to 18 children. They will allow 2 to 20 only in emergency situations. For Kindergarten, 2 to 25 is normal, but definitely not for 4 year olds. You definitely don't sound paranoid. You have every right to be concerned. I hate to tell you this, but in order to get my daughter into a good pre-k program, I had to get her on the waiting list when she was an infant. Since you don't have that option, look for a NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children) accredited preschool. That is the accreditation I am pursuing. Any program that is NAEYC accredited is guaranteed to be an excellent program. I'm afraid that those may be the programs that are already full. So, this is what you want to look for: Teachers should interact with children at the child's eye level. They should welcome parents to come in and visit whenever they want, no appointment needed. They must be friendly. You should see signs of cultural diversity. There should be blocks, legos, playdoh, tons of books with a cozy reading area, a sand/water table, puzzles, dress-up clothes, a play kitchen or pretend area, all sorts of arts and crafts materials, examples of children's work that look child created, an outdoor playground, lots of space. It must be very clean and safety must be a priority. There should be at least one staff who is certified in child CPR and first aid. They should have an emergency plan in place. They should have a sick child policy. There should be open communication between parents and teachers including a monthly newsletter, phone calls, daily chats or notes. It seems like a lot, but this is your baby. He deserves nothing but the BEST. Good luck in your search. Hope this was helpful. Summer ;)

melekalikimaka 06-27-2003 02:39 PM

Happy Friday!!!

Summer thanks so much for your valuable input. As we speak I have an appointment to view another facility in about 15 minutes. I think this one may be a Monetessori school but I'm not sure--I don't even have a clear understanding to what that philosophy is either  . I'm using this time (aside from posting here) to check out the NAEYC accredited sites here on our island. I had no idea there was such a thing. The center I looked at previously (which had the high child/teacher ratio) is working their way toward accredidation (sp?) and has their programs structured in that respect. Most, if not all of the things you mentioned, they had. This particular preschool is a part of a group of 11 preschools w/locations around the island. When I looked at the Hawaii NAEYC site, as if 1/03 only 3 of the centers from this group were accredited. The center director mentioned that all of the schools in the group were working toward accreditation. There is one center from this group about 5-6 miles away from my home that was listed and I have inquired w/them also. They are also in a newer facility. *sigh of relief* Thanks again for your understanding. I'll post later after my "tours" . And you're right, he's my baby and he deserves nothing but the best. :grouphug:

Kempy, what kind of fish are you getting?

Angie, where are ya?

I'll be back later.

Kempyd 06-27-2003 03:16 PM

Whatever they have. Sometimes they have a good selection. I wouldn't mind having another trigger fish. I can now that my shrimp is gone. I just want something colorful. I am tired of not being able to see the one in there now.

jelynn 06-27-2003 04:32 PM

Good Friday everyone!
We just got our first fish for Brendan's birthday last week- a beta and he loves it. They are really fun to watch. MY DH has allergies so I guess if we are going to be pet people we'll do fish. Who knows we both love animals though so can see us with cats and dogs in the future and just suffering through :)

I've been gardening last night and this morning. Weeded through our perennial garden and what used to be a raspberry patch (only have like 3 bushed now- what happened?!) Anyway, what a job! Jim said he did it in April (when I was due and I really haven't been out there since and obviously niether had he...) So I got some new perennials (all good deals this time of year) and planted them and hope we can stay on top of the weeds...

I can't remember how many children are attending the kindergarten with my son in the fall, but I'm pretty sure it's a cap of 25 with two adults and one more for special needs children. I can't believe we are starting "real school" in the fall! What a milestone.

Well, other than gardening (and I am sore so know it counts!) haven't done any exercising. Got a book on tape from the library last Sat. for my walks that haven't happened. GUess I just need to do it *once* then I will feel good about doing it! Last year I did 21-day challenges with myself for excerise. Might have to do that again.

Tomorrow we are hoping to have a fun family day. There is a rhubarb festival in the morning and we are entering the contest for biggest leaf and biggest stalk. We have some monster plants this year!! Then some dragon- boat races in the afternoon. Then a birthday party for my best-friends 1 year old at 4. SHould be fun as they have a pool! Any good ideas for a gift for him?? I can only think books and balls for babies that age so any other ideas would be great.

Angie- hope your party is a blast!!
Kempy- have a great time in Florida! When do you go and how far a drive is it??
Sandy, Noelle,Summer and all- have a great weekend!
c'ya
Emily

melekalikimaka 06-27-2003 04:40 PM

Is your tank saltwater? Was the shrimp eating your other fish? I only have a fresh water tank with 3 cichlids, one of them is a very vivid blue w/black stripes. The other two are male and female, lemony yellow w/a black stripe on the dorsal fin. The blue is the largest and he's so pretty, but I think I need to separate him soon because he's picking fights again--ever see a fish fight? They lock lips and pull--it's kinda funny..ok, don't sic the humane society on me...

I feel so much relief right now. After visiting the one daycare center this morning (and not being too impressed), I got a return call from the other NAEYC accredited center. I decided to go and visit w/out my son and immediately felt more comfortable there. The place was so much closer to "my ideal" than the other facilities were. The office admin asst. was very warm and inviting, and she showed me around the classrooms. The facility was built 5 years ago and is air conditioned. When I told her i wanted to bring my son back in the afternoon to interact w/the class, she introduced me to the afternoon teacher and it was one of my girlfriends from elementary through high school! We were actually quite friendly and had a lot of the same classes, I am very comfortable w/her being there. That was the clincher. Tuition is $85 p/mo. more than I'm paying now, but I think it's well worth the money. So I'm pretty happy right now :D . Sorry I'm talking so much about this...it's just been bothering me a bit. Thanks again Summer for your input.

Angie what are you up to girlfriend?

Just giving a shout out to Sandy, Emily, Holly and Jen

chikitababe 06-27-2003 08:28 PM

Hi everyone!! My son has officially graduated from kindergarten :) It is so scary though, he is my oldest, and I can remember when it was just him and me when he was a baby (his father was a loser), and now he is going into 1st grade. He is getting so big. I am almost 5'6 and he is up to my stomach already.

My diet has been so so, but, I have been exercising 45 minutes a day since Monday. My husband made me feel soooo good about myself tonight. We were looking at pictures, and found this picture of me in a bikini top and pair of shorts. He says, was this from last summer? I said, no, that was Spring of 1999, 2 babies ago! He said, wow, that was before you had our youngest 2? I said, yep. He says, you look the same! I was pleased, but didn't mention that I weigh about 7-8 pounds more than in that picture. He said you would never know I had 2 more children. Huh, and he didn't even do anything wrong to warrant kissing up, lol.

How are all of you doing? Any big plans for the weekend? Does anyone else have achy joints? My shoulders, knees, and elbows ache really badly and make exercising difficult, but, I try my best.

Holly

Summerlover 06-27-2003 08:52 PM

Noelle, I'm so happy that you found a preschool that you are comfortable with. I'm glad that I was able to help you. The first five years of a child's life are so important. Those years set the stage for the rest of their education. I'm glad you realize just how important these years are. I had to pay $800 per month for preschool. It was worth every penny. In the city where I teach, preschool is free. The city residents take it for granted. Anyway, it was cool that you hooked up with an old friend too! Best of luck!

Summerlover 06-27-2003 08:59 PM

Emily, today was my daughter's last day of preschool. It was a tearful goodbye for everyone. Kindergarten is a big step! We also have a birthday party tomorrow. They opened their pool, so it should be a lot of fun. I have been terrible on my diet...what diet?! Oh well, tomorrow will be the grand finale of my cheating. Sunday, I'm going back on.

Kempy, have a safe and fun-filled vacation!!!

Holly, congratulations on the milestone. Kindergarten graduation is a big deal.

Last weekend I had a great time at my friend's wedding. I danced and danced and danced in high heels. Now I'm paying for it. My right knee is swollen. I keep on icing it and using ibuprofen, but the swelling keeps on coming back. I don't want to see the orthopaedist because I know he'll want to do surgery. I have a long history of knee problems dating back 23 years. Please pray that the problem goes away on its own. I'm going on vacation in two weeks. The timing right now is terrible. Summer :(

angieME 06-27-2003 09:12 PM

Hi everyone. I have been so busy today. I missed so many posts. Lets see. I will take a pic of a whoopie pie on Sunday because that is the nest time I bake and show you. they are so good and mine are huge.

I have eaten everything under the sun this week and am so glad that the party is tomorrow and I can soon get back on my schedule. Exercise was going great until the heat and humidity hit. I did 3 miles the last 2 days because it was high 90's here and this morning it was so muggy that I only did 1 1/2 miles because i could barely breathe going up the hill. The bakery was 103 inside yesterday and today was 99. The pool water hit 86 degrees today. Not very refreshing until tonight that is. I just got out and it is so warm it is like a hot tub.

I am so busy but I promise that I will catch up with everyone Sunday and post individually. I hope everyone has an awesome weekend and I miss you all!!!!

angieME 06-27-2003 09:13 PM

PS: The jello shots are all made and I cant wait to get loaded!!!
I made Jay a maitai tonight, YUM!!

Summerlover 06-28-2003 10:06 AM

Angie, you are gonna have a blast today!!! Jello shots!!! Yum!!! I haven't had one of those since I was a single party girl in my 20's. Those were some fun days! I used to drink Mai Tais all the time too. My most favorite drink was an Alabama Slammer. Nowadays if I want to party, I drink Margaritas. I have found that Jose Cuervo Gold tequila doesn't give me much of a hangover. At the big birthday party today, they are supposed to be making lots of frozen drinks. It looks like we will both be sh_ _faced today! :D

angieME 06-29-2003 09:33 AM

The party is over and I am not going to do the birthday dinner as planned. I was going to get on my diet today but the house is so full of ice cream and cake and snack food that I knew I wouldnt survive the day with it. So I made the kids have cake for breakfast  (I did too...ooops) Needless to say I cant throw away daddys Bunny Tracks ice cream and I LOVE it so it will be gone today and tomorrow morning is a fresh new day and I will DO IT!!!! I can honestly say that I am so uncomfortably bloated from this weeks binging. I feel like **** and I am sure I look like it too. Next year I am not going to stress out so much over the food because I figured out yesterday that during the party I didnt eat any of it but now I am trying to get rid of what was left over.

Jello shots were great!!! I made about 45 of them and my mom,sis and friend showed up at 12:30 and by 2(when the party actually started) we had just polished them off. OOps, noone else got any. I didnt get too big of a buzz though. I was kinda hoping for more.

The party was so much fun. I had family that I havent seen for 2 years show up and a few kids I would rather not have seen came too. haha

My dad got so many over the hill gifts. He enjoyed it and we all picked on him. Poor guy used to be an alcoholic and he was surrounded by drunk women picking on him. Claudia(my moms best friend ) got him a shirt that had a bird a dog and a bird picture on it and under it it said Swallow ***** Swallow. Too cute.

Summer, how did your party turn out? I hope you had fun!Margaritas are my favorite drink too. along with daquiris

Kempy, Are you doing your crawfish boil this weekend or actually on your birthday?

Noelle, Are you still doing good with your food? I am so proud of you. I love to hear how good you are doing.

Sandy,Emily,Holly, How have you guys been?

Tomorrow I plan on getting back to posting alot so be ready for me. haha. I hat trying to get back on track it is so hard to get started. You would think I just wouldnt go off plan to begin with wouldnt ya? This time around has scared me alot because this is the longest I have screwed up since I started in October and it is exactly like I did when I hit 130 pounds last time so I am going to need a good *** kicking tomorrow to keep me in line. Okay? Love ya all!!!!

peekabooangel 06-30-2003 07:12 AM

Morning girls,

I am almost ready to walk out the door for work today, have to leave earlier now because I have to drop Alexis off at the sitters.
Hope everyone had a wonderul weekend. Angie, you will get back on track, maybe your body just needed a break. "JELLO SHOT" YUMMY....

Noelle: Sounds like your found the right center for you and son. That a wonderful feeling that you are comfortable about leaving your son there. I mean we can't just run out and replace our kids. I hate parents who think kids are replaceable and that any old place is good enough.

Summer: hope your hangover wasn't too bad??? Should I be whispering? NOT!!! LOL, my hubby was majorly sh__t faced Saturday to the point of sickness, my bil launched his new boat so it was a party party party, and hubby celebrated a little to much....and I felt no pity....Im so heartless:D

Holly: don't you just love seeing people and they compliment how you look after the years....my daughter got done with kindergarten this year too, but she is my youngest.

Emily: Hope the party for the baby went well. I'm sure you will think all that pain you are feeling from working in the garden will pay off in the end when you see what happens. My mil has beautiful flower gardens all around her house. She has a major green thumb. And she has a veggie garden too, which I like to borrow from....lol

Kempy: Have you left for the beach yet? Florida in July???OH my god, hot hot hot. I lived there for 3 years.....when I was 9,10 and 11, moved when I turned 12, but I remember its hot!!! Enjoy your trip though.

Chris: Hi there if your reading. You are still in my prayers.

Okay gotta run girls,

Sandy

Good Morning! Today is starting off right. I now have no excuses to continue to overeat and I am determined to stay on track and see how much more weight I can get off from me. I got in my 3 mile morning walk already and Rebel was so happy to hear the words"Wanna go for a walk?" Seedless watermelon is on sale this week so I am going to gorge myself on that if I get hungry. I cant wait until the strawberries are ready to pick. I bought 2 lobsters so I can make lobster and spaghetti for today and tomorrows suppers. YUM!!

Sandy, How does your hubby feel? Jay usually gets sick when he drinks too. Which is why he doesnt drink. I told my sister that for the next birthday party I am just making a cookie sheet full for each of us so we dont run out before the party actually starts. HA HA

Hope you all have a great day!!

:) Hi Angie, sorry to abandon you. Yesterday, we went out looking for a new kiddie pool which is a compromise between the typical wading pool for toddlers and a full-size above-ground pool. The party we went to on Saturday had a 13 foot diameter pool that was 30 inches deep...perfect for young children learning how to swim, and it is big enough for adults to cool off in too. Anyway, because of the heat wave in the Northeast, everywhere we went they were sold out. (I like to call ahead to find out if items are in stock, but my husband as a "hunter/gatherer" needs to drive all over God's green earth in search of the perfect pool!) We wasted most of the day, stopping off at TGIFridays for lunch in the middle of the search. After we got home, I called a toy store, and found one. We could have saved hours of driving. Oh well. We were busy with that all day.

Saturday's party was great. I started drinking on an empty stomach so I was plastered early on. I was the only one drunk, so I had to struggle to act sober. It was so funny. I'm lucky that my husband only drinks a little, so I can count on him to be the "sober" one for driving, and watching my daughter. Someone has got to be the responsible one, usually it is me, except for parties.

Sandy, I didn't get a hangover. I don't mix my alcohol, and supposedly Jose Cuervo Gold Tequila doesn't give hangovers. I'm worse off having a glass of wine than I am getting hammered on margaritas!!!

Take care everyone...Just so you all know, I'm going to Cape Cod during the last two weeks of July, so I will be MIA soon. Summer :dizzy:

I am back. I went sooo off plan :(. I weighed in this morning, biggg mistake. The scale read 157!! Blah. I ate that bowl of ioce cream about 1/2 hour before bed, could that be a culprit? Ok, so now I have to get back ON plan. I have been exercising, but, eating like a pig :ink: .

I want to reach at least 140 by September 27, the day my best friend is renewing her wedding vows (I am the maid of honor). That gives me 12 weeks and 4 days to lose 17 pounds. My best friend's family are rich Italians. She has never wanted for anything. So, last September her and her now husband decide to get married and not tell anyone! Then, she finds out 5 months later that she is 5 months pregnant!! Kind of a crazy situation. She had a hard time telling her parents she was already married, and, they weren't too pleased. Anyway, she has since decided that she wants a "real" wedding. So, September 27th it is.

I have to admit, I am very discouraged. I am tired of being fat, but have a hard time keeping the will power. I have other medical problems, so I often find myself asking if it is worth it. Some days the answer is maybe, others it is no. With three children (4 if I include my husband), and working 35 hours a week outside of housework, cooking, etc., exercise and diet seem impossible to work on.

Angie,
Sorry I didn't make it back to the thread yesterday. I was just on the go it seemed from morning till 11 last night. Then I just fell in the bed and was out in a matter of seconds I think?

Summer: Humm.....maybe I will have to try margaritas on this next girls weekend, cause I really like wine, but my gosh I had a hangover on that Saturday.....when you drink a whole huge bottle by yourself with jello shots....well you tend to have a little bit of a upset system the next day.

Kempy: Gosh, I hope all is okay where your house is. The weather looks awful. My prayers are with you....and....

"HAPPY 29TH BIRTHDAY"

Noelle: Where are you?????Busy I know....

Holly: You will get there, I have faith in you. A fancy rich italian wedding, that will be fun...

Hugs to all,
Sandy

Hey Sandy, I didn't mean to make you feel blonde...I just checked the first page of the forums and they list all the b-days at the bottom--so that's how I remembered :^: .

FINALLY!!!

I tried all morning to get on here and I couldnt. I hate when that happens. Thanks for the Birthday Wishes. How numb am I but I woke up this morning and went for my walk for an hour and got home and had Brit give me a picture that she drew for my birthday and then it finally dawned on me that it was my birthday.

Summer, Have fun with your new pool. I love mine even if I only get to use it for a couple of months out of the year. I do get sad in the fall when we have to close it and I have to look at a big gray tarp all winter though. I am glad to hear that you had fun at your party. I need a good drunk. I havent been out drinking for about 8 years.

Holly, Lets start over together, okay? I hate it when I lose my drive especailly since getting back on track is so hard to do but we can do this. Do you have any exercise equipment in your house?

Sandy, Margaritas are so good! I drink those everytime we go out to Weathervane to eat and sometimes Jay gets on a kick and I will make a few at home. The only thing that I have ever been able to drink and not get a hangover from is the Jack Daniels Down Home Punch. They are so good and so addictive.

:nono:

Kempy, Where are ya girl? I hope you guys are okay. The weather sounded pretty bad. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!
