I want to be the kind of person who doesn't see a donut & want it with a fever even if I'm not hungry... even if I'm stuffed to the gills...
I want to be the kind of person who can say no to a donut and mean it.
And oh, how I wonder... What does it take to be that kind of person?

What a great post! I completely understand what you are saying, Beach Patrol.
I think you CAN be that kind of person, but in order to do so you have to give yourself unlimited permission to eat whatever you want. That's very difficult for those of us who have spent years chronically dieting.
I had a piece of cheesecake today, probably the first one I've had in at least a year. It was divine, and I enjoyed it so much - WITHOUT GUILT.
You might want to investigate intuitive eating. We have a great thread under
General Diet Plans and Questions. Based on what I've been reading from your posts, it sounds as if you may be ready to try it. I was
exactly where you are when I started.
Just a suggestion.
