  • I'm an apple. Right now, my arms, legs, face etc are just fine. I still need to loose 20lbs and it is all in my stomach. Darn.
  • Quote: Im definitely a banana or a straight. The last time I measured I was 36.5/29.5/36.5. Totally straight!

    7" difference isn't straight!
  • I did a quiz one time with measurements, and it told me I was a spoon. Yeah, I know, like we need MORE categories, but there ya go. I don't have my measurements with me, but I have a large bust (38 DDD) and hips that are wider than my bust. Where I differ from a pear though is 1. I don't have much of a butt, and 2. no "thunder thighs". I carry weight like a doughnut around my hips, so it looks like I have a bit of a shelf where my hips are (which sit high), plus a little more weight in my lower stomach. Then, the lower half of my butt is relatively flat, in comparison at least.

The "shelf" was part of the reason I started losing weight. It came along more promintently as I got bigger, and I hated the way it looked in dresses. It's starting to decrease as I lose weight.
  • A short, round apple. I have a huge chest even when I'm skinny, I always put weight on my belly first, and my bottom/thighs are medium to large even at my best.
  • I've never really been able to figure this out. Definitely not an apple or a pear, but not really a classic hourglass, either. Or rather, I look like an hourglass from the front in that my shoulders and hips are wider than my waist, but if I turn sideways I virtually disappear. I am crazy thin from the side with small breasts and not much butt.

Maybe an hourglass from the front and a ruler from the side.
  • Banana - no hips, no boobs, no butt! I'm pretty darn straight up and down. The good side is that I can put on pants without unbuttoning/zipping them. The bad side is that my pants tend to fall right off me 'cause I don't have a butt or hips to hold them up!
  • Hourglass.... Always have been, but when I started becoming an apple, that was my wake up call
  • This is what I always think of when I think of categories:

    http://www.calculator.net/body-type-calculator.html

That's an interesting website. To quote, "A study of more than 6,000 women conducted at North Carolina State University in 2005 revealed that 46% of women were banana-shaped; just over 20% were pear-shaped; just under 14% were apple-shaped; and only 8% were hourglass-shaped. The hourglass is normally accepted as the "ideal" female shape in Western countries."

  • Thanks Missy Krissy! That was helpful with my estimated measurements from earlier. My results: Pear or Spoon or Bell (Triangle upward)
  • Hourglass, minus the big boobs. I'm just a B cup.

    F.
  • I am an hourglass! I read another website that better defined my body shape as a cello...sort of an hour glass with a slightly fuller bottom, hips and thighs(due to weight gain) but not enough to be called a pear. I like cello...sounds sexy!

I've seen this one. There are tons of different calculators and they give different results - super scientific, huh?

I put in my current measurements and it gives me banana or straight and I would say that is right as i gained this last time mostly in my waist.

At my lowest measurements last spring, I put in 39-31-41 (taking out the .5s) and it says I'm not any of the four shapes. I switched it to 40-31-41 and it still said I wasn't any of those shapes. Then I put in my actual measurements from then, 39.5-31.5-41 and I'm still none of the four shapes. yet, according to their calculations, these shapes account for 88% of all body shapes. Guess I'm a weird shape when I get to my goal size.

    LOL, certainly not very scientific!

I would count you as an hourglass then, as your bust and hips are almost equal and you have a narrow waist in comparison (the difference between your waist and bust/hip is >9 inches).

I thought I was an apple because of the size of my bust (too large for my frame in my opinion) but I just did my measurements (40, 35.5, 40) and it turns out that my hips are wider than I thought (maybe because I'm a mom now?), which puts my in the banana/straight category
  • This one describes me well: ample bosom, short waist.... that is the typical hourglass figure. Um, yep. http://www.bodyshapecalculator.co.uk...***-body-shape

Here is the site with 12 shapes: http://www.bodyshapecalculator.co.uk...12-body-shapes

There's many more sites and I just got these results with teh same measurements:

    Pear, Rectangle, hourglass.

    Um, yep... Soooooo hmmm...
  • Quote: I've never had back pain stemming from my breast size. Most of the time it's poor posture or sciatic pain. They don't feel heavy to me, and in a right sized bra I have enough support. Keep in mind though I am definitely large framed. Here are some pics of me at my highest and now: http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/300-...ml#post4675386

Elvislover You're a potato with a pool in your backyard. I think that makes you even cooler than a California Raisin!
i can see the difference in your chin a lot, thats also one of the first places i lost weight... but the difference in sizes are staggering. have you always been large? i was a size 0 less than 3 years ago.
