Oh. The Feels.

Anyone remember the song "I Touch Myself" by The Divinyls?

No, this post isn't as raunchy as that song. *wink* But it is what popped into my head when I was thinking about what I'm sharing here.

I've kinna been battling this "Is anything changing?" doubt. The numbers on the scale and the measuring tape are decreasing. The size labels in the clothes are smaller. But when I look in the mirror I just cannot see it.

This morning after my shower I was lathering myself with body oil. (Burt's Bees. So luxurious. So yummy smelling. So good for my dry winter skin. *end commercial*) And as I did so, I discovered something. My hands know that my body feels different. Like, quite a lot different. I'll spare you the details but....definitely less fat and more bone & muscle. It was pretty freakin' awesome!

So, if you're struggling with some doubts about your weight loss, I encourage you to touch yourself (and maybe sing this song. Loudly.) Oh. The Feels!

Loved this post! And I love that song---*hangs head in shame*.

I noticed recently too, I have bones in my hips AND my bum!!! I noticed my collarbone in the mirror too, where'd that come from?! They've been hidden for so long!

Oh the feels! :)

The other night I was lying in bed and noticed my midsection wasn't a hard bubble anymore, it was soft and indented a little...just a little, mind you, haha!

I do this all the time (and I like the song too). The first thing I noticed was my lower belly "squaring off" I can actually reach the bottom of it without having to pull it up, and there's an indentation there where it's pulling up. I also have some definition in my left arm (but none in my right, wth!), and everything is ultra jiggly instead of firm.

Oh.. and to be able to wrap your hand around your wrists! Just seeing that little bump on the outside of the wrist tying to emerge makes me smile!

and feeling my chin bone... not the puffiness that had cushioned it before.. IS awesome too :)

My wobbly bits are more wobbly. And my slacks are definitely looser.

I totally had this moment when I looked in the mirror and saw that my hips were smaller. NO SADDLEBAGS!! I cried... :')

Lol I love that song, I noticed this with my collar bones the other day :)

Oh.my.gosh.
I just about died laughing. I'm going to sing this song in the shower tonight and see what kind of reaction I get out of my husband.

There are my two hip bones. Whenever i get overweight i cannot touch them when i lay on my back without probing hard on my skin. Now that i lost 10 pounds i can touch them again simply by laying my hand softly upon them ;) So i know what you mean.

When I lost weight the first time around I put my hands on my waist after almost 40lbs lost. My arms were like "What, wtf is going on here? This doesn't feel right" because my waist went in too far lol. It didn't feel "normal."

RavenWolf 03-13-2013 06:49 PM

First off, I LOVE that song and love Burt's Bees!! Hahahaha!

I struggle everyday because I can't "see" my weight loss. Other people can see it...just not me. Maybe I need to do this and see if I feel different. I've lost 26 pounds, shouldn't I "feel" different?

Anyway, great post!!!

Raven, Like you, I need to lose nearly 100 lbs and have lost 25 so far. I don't see a difference yet either. I have faith that in another 5-10 lbs I will start noticing!
