Default So Close I Can Taste it...

Well I've been losing weight over the last 6 months for a few different reasons. 1) Saw a picture of myself at 125 lbs and was horrified. Didn't recognize myself and knew I needed to make changes. 2) Trip to Mexico in two months and #3) my biggest motivation of all...my wedding in August 2013.

This is my 3rd rodeo around. My first time I went from 122 to about 95 lbs and held onto a weight of about 103-108 for about 4 years...starting working at a Chinese buffet where we were received one meal per shift for free..gained it back then. I'm no longer working there so that's not an issue anymore.

Second time was when I quit the Chinese buffet and went from 122 to about 114. Gained it back cause I got careless about what I was eating.

This last time has been a success so far. Its taken me about 6 months to lose about 15% of my body weight (20 lbs). I know I have what it takes to take it off and keep it off, I just have to be more mindful about maintaining.

So I'm down to my last 5 or 6 lbs and I am having a really hard time at the moment...All my food cravings are coming back and I don't know why. This hasn't been an issue for the last 6 months at all. My desire to exercise has gone out the window but I'm still forcing myself to at least twice a week (my goal was always 4 times a week).

So while I'd like to be able to lose the last 6 in time for my trip (end of April).. that's two months..and totally doable, I'm so frustrated cause I'm so close to that finish line.

How did you all get the last bit of motivation to lose that last little bit?

I got there by treating the last 6 exactly the same way that I treated the very first 6. There is just a natural tendency to be less motivated once you get close. Go back to the basics that got you where you are. I firmly believe that food cravings come back when your mind is willing to entertain them; you start thinking about what you can eat on your trip, or what you're going to add back to your diet after reaching maintenance, and all of a sudden your brain says Why Wait? Committing to the basics again can quiet a lot of those thoughts.
