Wink How do YOU recover from a FOOOOOD-packed weekend?

Hey everyone!

Just want to get everyone else's tricks and tips on starting up again on Monday if you went a little (or a LOT!) off-plan over the weekend.

For whatever reason I did really bad Saturday and Sunday, but I know by Tuesday I should be good again.

I know my tip is to drink a lot of coffee this morning (Monday). It gets things "moving" again.

How about you?

I ate my weight in donuts, pizza and full fat ranch dressing yesterday, so this thread made me smile and think "hmm, what IS my plan today?"

Drinking some green tea (the caffeine in it, like your coffee, gets things "moving"). eating my usually breakfast soon, then going running early ones the food settles (usually I don't go until after lunch. 3-4 days a week I run or jog for 75minutes, but each day varies on how far I go based on how fast I run. Today I'm going to do one of my farther runs/more intense)
Then lunch like usual, and keep drinking lots of water. Drink another bottle of zero calorie green tea before dinner, and not eat quite as much as normal for dinner.
There. There's my plan. Here I go

I had a bad weekend as well. I'm just drinking a lot of water and unsweetened tea. Salad with lemon juice for lunch. I'll get it back on track.

When that happens for me I try to eat as clean as possible. So I would drink lots of water fruit for breakfast some kind of veggies soup or whatever for lunch small dinner all within my calories and usually two days of this Im back to normal. Good luck.. Yes and coffee is a must

Usually a healthy breakfast is enough to get me back on track.

I've seen you write quite a lot of posts about this, while I would personally just "get back on track" if this happened, I wonder if maybe a differetn approach would help you - such as a reflective thought as to why you are still bouncing between so many extremes. Some meditation, writing, etc.

I eat again when I'm hungry, often I end up having less food than usual the Monday after the weekend, and resume "regular life."

You sound stuck in restrict-binge-restrict-binge, do you ever just take a week and eat 1700-2000 every day in reasonably healthy food with regular workouts?

Weekends, especially Sundays, are pretty lax for me. Even at my most on-plan state, Sunday was always my "free" day where I ate at maintenance calories (I still track). I get back on track on Monday and make sure I get a work out in as well. It's hardly as if I believe my run is making a difference in the grand scheme, but getting a workout in gets my mind back on track and makes me feel like I'm taking charge again.

Oh I hate those food packed weekends. I always regret it. That was this weekend for me, Fri-Mon in fact. LOL. Sunday night I try to start recovering... I eat a small healthy meal. I always find the food packed weekends don't "back me up". If anything, it does the opposite. My WW diet backs me up. LOL. I just try to take a minute or two to remind myself that even though eating whatever I want when I want is FUN that there are bigger and better goals for my life and there's more to life than eating mexican and pizza and drinking margs. Time to dust myself off and get back on the horse.
