Countdown to? (Please Join In)

I am using my upcoming trip to Florida as motivation to become healthier.

I was hoping that others with a countdown going would post here so we can support each other and celebrate each others' successes.

Jen =D

I have this ball thing I have to go to. We are an Army family and they throw this nice ball where everyone dresses up. I would like to look good in my dress. March 14th. :) I would love 10 lbs lost. Need to make a ticker for that.
Good idea!

jeniansmom 02-07-2013 03:32 PM

Welcome aboard, abetterme :) The ball sounds like fun and that's a great motivator!

Radiojane 02-07-2013 03:40 PM

I'm counting down to three things: I have to be in a little black dress for a bachelorette party by May 4th, I'm a bridesmaid June 1, and I have a family wedding to attend July 20th. I would really like to be under 300 for little black dress, and then while I'll probably maintain through the month of May (so I don't need to alter the dress at the last minute), I'd like to be down another 10 for the July one.

Great motivation idea!

emurph 02-07-2013 04:24 PM

1. Navy Supply Corps Ball in March

2. Summer

3. Long term - husband's return from deployment. I would like to be in maintenance by then because we will TTC #2 when he comes home.

I have a ball in June I am going to!! I'm busting butt to look awesome!

I'm joining this thread!

I'm down 14.4 pounds since 1 January! :carrot:

coffeeshopgirl 02-07-2013 04:43 PM

Awesome job on the weight loss RavenWolf!

As my ticker shows, I want to lose 5 pounds by Feb 15th. I'm not going to weigh myself until then, but it still gives me a short goal to shoot for.

What's my next goal? You guessed it! Another 5 pounds...

Good luck ladies - let's do this!

berryblondeboys 02-07-2013 05:05 PM

Well, I have two things.

One, I want to get back down to 175 so I will be at 100 pounds lost AGAIN (for the third time in a year). That is supposed to be my "do not cross over ever again line". Wellll...... maybe it will be this time.

Second is I need to be around or under 170 come summer time or summer clothes time or else my summer wardrobe won't fit me! I had gotten some darling clothes and I WILL NOT buy larger sizes for summer!

RavenWolf 02-07-2013 05:08 PM

Great goals, y'all! We can do this!

elvislover324 02-07-2013 05:18 PM

I love challenges like these.

I liked the Valentine's one since it was pretty much 6 weeks from the new year to lose 20lbs and I think I might actually (fingers crossed) make it or be very close to it. It was very inspiring to me and it was the first one I have ever done.

The next challenge I joined was one Mozzy started for the month of March so I figure St. Patrick's Day will be the date I mark on my new ticker next week, hoping for a 10lb loss by then. Or I can do Easter Sunday maybe? That only adds 2 weeks to it.

I find the 4-6 week challenges mentally acceptable (if there is such a thing!) and trying not to get obsessed with the amount of weight lost, just having a date marked on the calender for reference and pace.

KittieKat 02-07-2013 06:00 PM

What a great thread

I have a very special Party to attend in about 2 weeks and other event in LA in April with some of the same people so I'm hoping/praying/working hard to have a "noticeable" difference between the two events.

Those are my two short term goals, I have many more. LOL

Good Luck everyone!!!!

35X35 02-07-2013 06:22 PM

Well, I haven't weighed in for a couple weeks because I had a few off days plus my period is looming (unless I'm pregnant again).

Anyway, my countdown right now is to Valentine's Day -- praying to be in the 260's by then, which is in about a week.

After that, I'll probably do a St. Paddy's Day challenge -- either on here or just a personal one :)

lunarsongbird 02-07-2013 06:41 PM

Let's see...Hm. I suppose I'm very motivated by the seasons, mid-seasons, and holidays.
- The first day of Spring, I want to climb the Maintou Incline. The top of the incline is 8,600 feet high with an elevation gain of 2,100 feet from the base.
There are about 5,000 railroad ties that serve as "steps" to ascend the incline.

-I'm also really looking forward to the Renaissance Fair here in Colorado. It starts June 15th and I definitely wont be able to fit into my old costume! I'll have to get a new one. I'm very excited about that.

- More so then anything- DH and I want to start TTC for the first time in 2014 (maybe sooner if he can't keep his hands off me when I hit goal? LOL.)
35x35- You're my inspiration! I DEFINITELY want to home birth! I

35X35 02-07-2013 07:15 PM

Thanks so much for that awesome comment :)

LandonsBaby 02-07-2013 07:34 PM

First countdown is my husband's birthday at the end of April.

ladyrider72472 02-07-2013 07:59 PM

1. Oldest sons graduation from flight school.
2. Younger sons HS graduation.
3. My 40th BDay!!!' In July

Garnet2727 02-07-2013 08:09 PM

I am on week 1 of 6 to 8 weeks of physical therapy for my feet and ankles. I want to use this time to get back on track with my weight loss as well as improve my pain levels and overall health.

niknaknat 02-08-2013 12:20 PM

My brothers wedding, although he has not told us a definate date just ( this year, maybe spring :?: )

Also my wedding anniversay at the end of may :)

Katydid77 02-08-2013 12:36 PM

I have a couple of things I am looking forward to.

~I want to lose enough weight to 'look better' (say 15 to 20 lbs) before I have to shed my winter coats and sweaters (literally) lol

~I want to lose down to about 135 before Summer, bc I have a closet full of the prettiest little summer dresses that fit me so nice at the weight year before last.

~Very short term I have a wedding to go to on March 16th, and that gives me about 6 weeks to lose at least 10 pounds and I have a couple nice dresses that fit me at that weight.

coolacrity 02-08-2013 12:49 PM

There's a wedding I want to attend in July. I want to fit into something spiffy for the occasion. I hope I can be around 200 by then.

jeniansmom 02-08-2013 08:03 PM

Welcome to everyone who is counting down :)
Best of luck to all of us.
We are one day closer to our events, how did you do today?

Garnet2727 02-08-2013 08:07 PM

Week 1 of my physical therapy went really well! My feet hurt quite a bit less than they did at the beginning of the week. As for my weight, even though my official weigh in isn't until Sunday, I have thus far lost 5 of the 8 pounds I gained last week.

MablesGirl 02-08-2013 08:17 PM

Going to Florida in 19 weeks!

beachluvr79 02-08-2013 09:07 PM

Awesome thread!! I have to set lots of mini goals during my journey. It's the only way I can keep on track. I'm trying not to concentrate too much on the number on the scale.

Goal #1 250 thousand steps by valentines day (so close)
Goal #2 another 270 thousand steps by St. Patty's Day
Goal #3 TBD

My ultimate goal is to be 160 by my wedding day (6-22-13) and 150 by my honeymoon (9-7-13)

Good luck everyone! Can't wait to hear about your successes and special events!!

Radiojane 02-08-2013 09:36 PM

Today went awesome! Down 1.2, and I fit nicely into a 24w dress I bought at the beginning of January. Can't wait to little black dress shop!

jeniansmom 02-09-2013 09:06 AM

I don't know about the rest of you, but the weekends can be tough for me. I'm not in my normal routine and a lot more temptations seem to crop up. So here's to an on plan weekend, keep your eyes on your prize!

NorthernChick13 02-09-2013 01:37 PM

I love this thread! I've definitely got a few things that I am counting down for!!

February 22- I leave for Mexico and Florida! I teach far up North in the NWT and only get out of my community twice a year. I had to have a beach vacation AND make that bachelorette party! I hope to be 20 lbs down by then! Currently 13 down!

July 1- I only see my friends and family twice a year as well, and this is the day! They will have seen me at my highest at 210 at Christmas, and then this mega-awesome reunion where I WILL be 155 or less- almost the lowest I've been since an adult! I can't wait to see pleasantly surprised faces this time!

Halloween- I will finally reach goal around here. Cheers to a sexy costume!

Thanks for the motivation!!!!!!

beachluvr79 02-09-2013 02:48 PM

Ohhh!! Sexy costume!! I'm adding that one!! :) Thanks NorthernChick!!

NorthernChick13 02-09-2013 03:48 PM

haha no problem! BuyCostumes.com is fantastic, and they ship anywhere in at least Canada! I am not sure about the States but check it out!

Agreed. I also really only see my husband on Sundays and Mondays. So it's easy to slip into "celebration" mode and make some less then awesome eating decisions.

I'm going to make a nice chicken piccata tonight though.

Hmmm....perhaps a sexy steam punk costume is in my future. :lol3:

KimL1214 02-09-2013 05:36 PM

1. Prom in May... I have to chaperone every year as I'm the yearbook adviser and have to take pics... We're expected to dress formally and I would like to be able to wear a dress I bought in Hawaii a couple years ago. Last year I looked like I was wearing a giant muu muu, but didn't realize it until I saw pics afterwards...

2. Family reunion August 3-4. We first started these reunions five years ago and I met some of my family for the first time... They have only known me as big...

3. Wedding of close friend in October... I'm going to see people I haven't seen in a few years, and I want to look awesome!

Hotaruchan 02-10-2013 01:15 AM

Countdown to going home! I've had the year from **** while working in Japan, and I'll be on a plane heading home in 54 days...so happy. I'm currently scale-less, so I don't know what weight I am now and can't really make a weight goal, but I'm currently wearing 64 cm waist jeans and would really like to either have them loose or slip into 61 cms by the time I leave. Shopping's going to be a challenge when I get back because I have absolutely no idea what size I am in America and none of my work clothes fit any more >.<

graciegoose13 02-10-2013 02:38 AM

I'm going home on March 26 after a year and a half of being abroad and not having seen my friends and family in "real life," only pictures and skype. I'd love, love, love to have lost enough to look great and feel even better for when I see everyone, which will hopefully be around 10 lbs!

Doughnut 02-10-2013 05:58 AM

Holiday in mid May. Going to New York and didn't buy a thing last time cos I felt so pudgy.

School reunion in August. Last time most of those people saw me I was only 5'2" and was around 145 which made me far and away the fatest person in my year.

marigrace 02-10-2013 06:24 AM

Haven't made it into my skinny red slit up to there dress yet, but I plan on looking pretty good in underwear for Valentine's. In late march I have to look hot for an exhibit I'm in at the National Art club....I picture myself rocking the critics every time I lift those weights !

mrsj2013 02-10-2013 07:54 AM

joining the challenge

I'd like to be down 10 lb by May 1st. That is our Tops(take off pounds sensibly) PRD celebration. I need all the motivation I can get so will keep you posted.

the shiv 02-10-2013 11:00 AM

Just nailed onederland today! Next stop is... *** VICTORY MODE *** at 175. At 175, I can go back on the pill and most of my clothes will fit! It's about the weight I was through most of my 20s. I always wanted to be smaller, but never really got on with it. I've only been this size in the past few years. Hoping to make it by my birthday in mid-may, no big shakes if I don't make it, but it would be nice! Also, if I have the money at 175 I'm getting my hair trimmed, to get rid of all the hideous layers I have from growing/cutting out damage for the past 2 years (an exercise in patience and frustration in itself) and I'll be dyeing it. I miss being blonde!

So, 175 with long blonde hair contraception that works and clothes that fit... I'll feel like myself again. Major, MAJOR milestone!

Wheresmychin 02-10-2013 02:05 PM

I have a wedding June 15th. So I am hoping to be at goal by then.
That will be almost 1 year from my change of lifestyle start date.

I didn't think I would make 2 weeks, let alone 7 months!

Silverfire 02-11-2013 10:06 AM

Counting down to wedding July 20th.
