Western Nebraska here. Also a winter hater!

Hate the cold and the short dark days. Bleh.

Southeastern Michigan here. It's 20 degrees out right now. I used to love the winter but after living in California for 5 years, then coming back here....I hate it.

I live in Los Angeles and the only bad thing about winter here is that it's dark early and late when I walk my dogs. I used to live in New York, so I really sympathize with those of you who have a real winter. I don't miss walking on ice (and falling) or having to dig my car out of snow at the end of a workday.

I do get to "taste" winter from time to time in my business travels. Next week I'm going to Prage, Czech Republic where the temps are in the teens during the day and single digits at night. Fortunately, I still have all my NY winter clothing! I'm looking forward to seeing a beautiful place I've never been to, but not looking forward to the cold!

Susie where do you live in Illinois? I live in Highland (about 30-40 min from St. Louis).
I can't wait for winter to be over! I can't stand the cold and being cooped up inside. I am grateful we have a treadmill but it gets so boring. I'd much rather be outside. There's so many more activities to do when the weather is nice. We did have a couple of nice days yesterday and Friday (50's & 60's) and we took full advantage of both of them and walked on a local trail 7 miles each day. It definitely helps having a day like that to get rid of the winter blues.

I'm from Effingham. We are little over 60 miles from each other.

I live in Ohio and I hate, loath and despise winter. I'm sitting here right now in two pairs of pants, two pairs of socks, two long sleeve shirts, slipper boots with a space heating in the bedroom...and I'm still cold. Winter is brutal for me.

I don't know how people survive in those temperatures. I think I would lose my mind!

I live in TX so I normally love the winters, but it has been very cold for the past few weeks! I'm looking forward to the morning temps getting back to the high 40's so I can run/walk/hike outside rather than having to go to the gym every day.

We survive. Nice thing, it typically doesn't stay that cold for long. And sun dogs ARE really pretty!

I must be an oddball.. I take full advantage of the cold and like going out for walks in it- the cold keeps me moving yet I don't get overheated. I can't handle the heat in the summer, so I get more cabin fever then.

Winter sucks!

I have no motivation to do anything that isn't required, such as travel to work, school, and shopping for basic necessities. I cringe when someone asks me to hang out somewhere. It means leaving the house and walking out into the cold. I hate it. I just want to spend all winter in my house, under the covers, and sleep until Spring! Why is that so much to ask?

Oh yeah, and like danzigurl, I too HATE the holidays. What a mess.

I don't really get cabin fever, but I do look forward to not having to scrape my car off or spending ten or fifteen minutes getting my kids suited up in full snow gear every time we have to go outside the front door. Dark and cold doesn't bother me, but it does come with inconveniences. Fortunately I am not a big outdoor exerciser these days, so that isn't of the list of things that bug me most about the seven or eight months of winter we get each year
