2 NSVs in one day, first time ever!

  • This has been a great day and it's only 3:30pm!

Is it weird that I couldn't wait to come home and post here as I know you will all understand??

NSV #1: Went to Panera with my husband today after finishing up Christmas shopping. It was just before lunch time so it was a bit busy but not crazy. There was a booth open so I casually strolled over to it while my husband was making his coffee. My heart was pounding as I took off my coat....and then.....SAT and FIT in the booth with even ROOM TO SPARE! I almost got back up and started . Without everyone sharing their NSVs here, I would never have even attempted it. You all made me brave enough to try and I enjoyed my coffee 10x as much. So my husband finds me and says "we never sit over here" just surprised for us to be in a booth and I said "LOOK!!! I fit!" Up until then, I don't think he ever questioned why we always sat at tables and chairs...

NSV #2: So after a bit more shopping, we stopped at the pub near our house so hubby could have a cocktail (I haven't had a drink since over the summer, not worth the calories to me!) and I had my standard soda water. Got up to go the ladies' room and 2 guys I know casually asked me how I was doing as I walked by. On my way back, one called over to me and said I looked great and did I lose weight??? I just casually said I haven't been drinking and cutting back on junk. But I swear I danced back to my husband at the table. For 2 regular guys to say something, I really must have changed!! Obviously I still have a long way to go but they sure did make my day, I'm so glad they said something.

I love this forum and it's helped me so much in my journey. I feel like today was Christmas come early and I'm so very happy. 2012 has been such a rough year for me and I am ready to ring in 2013 with bells on!

Merry Christmas and God Bless You All.
  • Those are 2 awesome NSVs!!!! So happy for you!!! You deserve to feel good after all your hard work!!!
  • So fun! Thanks for sharing.
  • This post made me so happy. But, what is an NSV?
  • Non-Scale-Victory.
  • AWESOME.............CONGRATS....especially on the booth fit. I truly understand....
  • Thank you all so much. It's been a trying holiday season to say the least and I have been on my plan 100% since over the summer so I finally feel like I am reaping the benefits of my dedication. Some days I do consider stuffing my face with all of my cravings esp. with Christmas just a couple days away. Now there is no way I'm touching anything not on my plan!

I never thought in a million years I'd be excited about sitting in a booth or wondering if I can fit in an airplane seat or whatever other struggles we deal with being heavy. I never thought of this when I was thin.

This site has helped me learn to appreciate so many things. And I swear people out in public treat me differently now that I have lost a few pounds, they are much nicer and kinder to me. Makes me sad though, I am still the same person I was no matter what my weight.
  • It IS sad, for them. Some people make all kinds of snap judgements about overweight people. You can feel good that you will never do that, no matter how thin you get! Great NSVs!
  • I love reading NSV's like this... What a great day! Congrats!
  • What fantastic NSVs!! I can just feel your happiness and I feel like I want to happy dance with you!
  • ElvisLover, those are awesome NSVs! And you're awesome too! WTG!
  • Woot, two in one day! Those are wonderful NSVs! Loved reading about it; so happy for you.
  • Thanks everyone!

I woke up in such a good mood today and was thrilled to read your posts.

Those 2 guys have no idea how they made my day yesterday. In another thread we were talking about how your words can effect someone so much (good or bad depending what is said), it's so true. Now I am thinking they must have noticed my "Panera glow" lolololol.

Hope you are all having a nice day.
  • So wonderful, I'm happy for you!!!
