Default I gave up. I'm such a fraud.

I lost almost 30lbs and then I just stopped. Stopped working out, stopped eating right. Now I feel like I'm back to where I started. (I'm not sure, my scale is broken) But I don't know how to get back on track. HELP ME.

You just gotta pick up where you left off! Start eating better again and start working out! Once you get a new scale you can see where you truly are.

You aren't the first person to just suddenly stop being healthy (I've done it too!), but what makes the difference is whether or not you can pick yourself back up and keep going.

Also, think about the fact that the longer you take to get back on track, the more weight you might gain back. It will be easier if you just start now!

First of all try and find out why you stopped. Were you getting sick of eating healthy all the time? Were you feeling frustrated with the pace of your weight loss? After you do that, prepare yourself for success. Throw out all the junk in your house and make a list of things never to buy. Make a gym schedule and a meal schedule (don't be too ambitious or else your might give up). Something else I like to do is make a playlist of empowering songs because music totally fuels my life and gives me positive energy. If you want to jumo start your diet that's how I would do it

You aren't a fraud! You are a human being struggling with a difficult issue - you will have ups and downs. You are better prepared to join the fight this time around - use your experiences to learn and improve. That's all that you can do.

Meltaway - Think of how you felt when you were losing those 30 pounds - did you feel proud? Confident? Successful? You can feel that way again. Just pick yourself up, dust yourself off and make TODAY a day on your plan/program. And then wake up tomorrow and do the same thing for just one more day. Then one more meal/day. You can do it! You've already proven it to yourself - you hold the control!

You made some bad for you choices. We all do it. Beating yourself up isn't helping anything, all you can do now is work on getting better from wehre you're at. Every day you eat healthier is a day you haven't continued to get heavier. Every workout is one more step towards getting lighter. You can do this!

Did you intentionally try to deceive or trick the members of 3FC or others in your life? No. You are not a fraud.

This is a struggle. I don't know if it ever gets "easy". Getting lax happens, regains do happen. Doesn't make you a fraud at all! Just means you are pretty much exactly like everyone else!

It sucks getting back on the wagon after falling (or leaping) off. The good thing is that you KNOW you can do this!

Are you ready to start over? If you are, do it. The worst thing you can do to yourself is admit what's wrong then do nothing about it. It sucks gaining weight back, but what sucks more is not doing anything about it now, and gaining more weight before you make the decision to change.

You've done it before -- lost weight and felt so proud of yourself --you CAN do this again.

You are not a fraud! Sometimes we just fall out of our good pattern of behavior. I went to the gym today for the first time in three weeks. Longest ever. It may not seem like much, but I had to force myself to go. Of course it felt great during and after, and hopefully it will knock out my own "fraud" streak. lol

I just think they are "lulls". What matters is that you get back at it!!!

Hey it's okay! I lost 40 lbs then gained 10 back and stayed that way for months, I felt like a failure. But then I realized weight loss and maintenance isn't a straight line, it's a zig and a zag and if you want to be healthy and lose the weight again you're just gonna have to suck it up and do it again! it doesn't make you bad! Just start by planning to eat the next week on track and exercise, if that's too daunting try eating your next meal on plan, and if that's too much start by drinking some water and eating your next snack on plan!

baby steps. we've all been there and are all here to support you!

you are NOT a fraud!! regains happen, LIFE happens...it is what it is...now just move forward starting today

i once lost about 20 pounds on weight watchers, got down to about 202 (yes i remember these details lol) but i was hungry All The Time...and felt very deprived of all things junky (now i know i'm totally addicted to sugar/wheat but i didnt know that then)....i went to a bday party feeling fabulous and skinny! saw a picture of me taken there and i looked SO FAT....i promptly gave up, ate whatever i wanted, tired of being hungry all the time, and gained 30 pounds instead

it happens...i learned from it...took the new things that i learned about myself and later embarked on a more successful weight loss journey

You are not a fraud lol. A fraud lies to other people for gain. You maybe were lying to yourself about weight for a while, long enough to, you think, gain your 30 back. But we all do that kind of thing from time to time. That just means you are human.

But is there a valid reason why you don't just go get a scale? You can get them for $17 at Wal-Mart. You can bring it home, set it up, hop on and disregard first weigh-in and do it again (or better, wait until morning) and poof you won't "think" you feel like you gained your 30 back, you'll know if you did or didn't, then can just go from there and get back on the track.

If for some reason you can't get a scale, could you weigh on a public scale or go into a local clinic and ask them to weigh you or go to a friend or neighbor and ask if they have a scale you can use.

Personally, I can never get back on track until I know where I am number wise, then it is just a matter of taking care of it.

Everyone who watches weight has this backsliding experience and successful weight watchers just fix it as soon as they can.

There is no secret and you probably DO know how to do it.

Don't worry, you can do it. Huzzah! Best of luck.

Weigh yourself. Eat a vegetable. Go for a walk. Skip dessert for one day.

It doesn't have to be all or nothing! You get back on track the way you got on track for the first time, except now you have a lot of the tools and knowledge you didn't have the first time around!

You're not a fraud. A weight loss of 30 lbs is hard to achieve. That's REAL success!

Get a scale (or weigh yourself and your doctor's office or the gym) and find out where you are. Re-start. Use the same approach you did to lose the 30 lbs. It's just a matter of getting re-motivated. If you have trouble staying motivated on your own, get a diet or exercise buddy, participate in forums (like this one!), join a challenge group, look at motivational things online, etc. Look at a before photo, and a now photo and see how far you've come. Write down your "why" reasons. Why do you want to lose weight? Review those often. Add to them when you think of reasons. And celebrate your victories!

Hi! You're definitely not a fraud. Hang in there! As folks posted here, figuring out the "why" of the gain back is super important. For the last month or so I've been down on myself because I gained back about half of what I worked all year to lose and I did it in 3 months! When I thought about it I realized that most of it was stress and emotional eating because I've been dealing with some serious family stuff since the end of August. Just figuring that out relieved a lot of the pressure and now I'm motivated to get back on track! Good luck!
